Tenjou Utena is a young girl with a high spirit and a mysterious ring.
She likes to wear boy's school uniforms and is good at most sports, but most
especially basketball. She is very strong and can even carry her friend Wakaba
on her back. She has troubles with her schoolwork at times though.
With her dashing appearance and long pink hair, she is very popular at her new
school, Ohtori Academy, and all of her classmates vie for her attention. Her special
friend is Himemiya Anshi, with whom she shares a room.
Utena is at first bewildered by the mysterious behavior of the Council at Ohtori,
but as she is drawn deeper into their struggles she learns the true nature of each
one. Though what she learns astonishes her at times and frightens her at others, she finds
her destiny is inextricably linked with theirs.
