Touga is taken with both Utena's spirit and her rough beauty; taking her unawares, he gives her her first kiss. Unlike the other girls though, Utena is not impressed by him and his methods, surprising him when she spurns his advances.

Proud, self-assured and powerful, Touga seems to feel his destiny is even greater, and the struggle in which the Council is engaged consumes his thoughts, even over the lives and fates of the others.
