Ivan Leung

This isn't Ivan, but just a good looking guy looks like him. Who is this guy, anyway? Well, this is the owner of this homepage, Nobita. The picture was taken in Oct 1993, his first semester at WSU.

We look so similar that many friends of us thought we were brothers or cousins, and even Ivan's father thought the good looking guy in this picture was his son, Ivan.

Ivan has been my best friend since we were studying at Washington State University, Washington. He was a Biochemistry major at that time. After he graduated in 1995, he continued his studies at Iowa State University studying Veterinary Medicine. Then he got his intern at the Emergency Room of an animal hospital in Chicago. Don't expect his job was somewhat like George Clooney's in "ER". As a matter of fact, his job was a lot more relax than that in the "human ER", as people didn't care about their pets as much as human. Ivan just got a new job at an animal hospital at Virgina Beach. He told me he was going to take some leisure classes such as Yoga, Martial Art, Swimming etc. After a long way of studying and tough internship, Ivan definitely will enjoy his life in Virgina.

Ivan and I have a lot in common. We like talking about Japanese animations, comics, and robots. Also, we are the GOD of "refunds". Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ...... We always exchange experience of refunding stuff. It's better not mentioning it anymore, or the owner or management of Wal-mart will kill us.

I always believe in reincarnation (the soul enters, after death, into another human or animal body). Ivan doesn't eat animals with wings (poultry), such as chicken, duck, turkey, and geese. It isn't because of his religion. He told me he couldn't stand the taste and smell of the flesh of poultry. I always tease on Ivan that he was a chicken (or other poultry) in his previous life. So, in his current life, he doesn't or cannot eat poultry and becomes a vet to save the life of his "old folks". Believe it or not?

About our friendship..... um um .... we started our friendship when Ivan used my dining card for meals at school (the second semester we were there). We certainly always had breadkfast, lunch and dinner together, and became very close friends since then. (People in the dining hall might suspect we were gay couple, as we always went there together and shared "one" dining card). :P

Another rememberable part about Ivan and I happened the first summer we were at WSU in 1994. He had to find a job related to animals in order to apply for the vet schools. We took the bus to Moscow, the town about 20 mins away from Pullman, our school town, then walked along the downtown of Moscow looking for the animal clinics. We talked about cartoons and TV episodes when we were little boys..... I still remember that summer was very hot ...... yes, very hot ...... Ivan graduated next year before summer, when I went to Moscow again alone next summer, I felt lonely and sad because Ivan wasn't there.

Some Hong Kong students gave Ivan a very ugly nickname, Ah Baak (Uncle), because Ivan would evaluate thoroughly before he spent every penny. I absolutely understand that as I used to be in his situation. I never told Ivan that I didn't like those Hong Kong students teasing on him. It might be the reason I let Ivan use my dining card and seldom talked to those Hong Kong guys.

If you find Ivan's background is interesting, you may contact him at this e-mail.

P.S. Unlike Leo and Brian, I met Ivan in college. Although we have only studied together for 2 years, we had so many memorable time together in Pullman. I was shocked that I wrote so much about us. Carol said paragraphies about Ivan and I were very interesting. As a matter of fact, when I read the part about Ivan and I walked along Moscow downtown looking for animal clinics, I was really touched and almost had tears in my eyes. I still remember the scene, that summer was vvvverrrrrry hot.
