Doom Reborn

Two

Zarkon carried Allura to his old bedchamber. He was tired and not in the mood to place her elsewhere in the castle or in the slave pits. He could have summoned a servant to do it, but he did not.
He placed her on the bed and changed out of his uniform. Thank the stars he would not have to wear that anymore. Tommorrow he would wear his proper attire. He put on a pair of comfortable lounging pants and turned back towards the bed.
He smiled at the figure on the bed. She would be a valuable pawn to him. She was loved by the people and she would make his transition easier - not to mention that his son would move mountains to get to her. His trap would be set. Meanwhile, he would enjoy her company. He chuckled. He could not wait until he saw the look upon her face in the morning! He debated whether to pull her dress off of her and decided to go ahead and do it. It would humiliate her more, and besides, it would be less for him to deal with later.
He managed to get the dress off without waking her, for the drug was a strong one. He, of course could not resist touching her as he did so. Zarkon chuckled. He would make sure when his son was fully immobilized that he would give every detail of her - that way his son would know without a doubt that he had been with her. He couldn't wait to see the frustrated rage on his son's face when he could do nothing about it!
Zarkon climbed into bed, and pulled her to him, kissing her. He was so tempted to just go on and take her, but he liked his women awake and aware. She would be more alert in the morning as would he - not to mention the utter humilation and fear she would feel! He looped an arm around her waist and went to sleep.

She awoke in the night groggily, and turned in her sleep. She felt an arm around her waist and thought it was Lotor's and smiled. One of her silly dreams of him. She felt a kiss on her neck. She shivered and thought that the thermostat in her room must have been set too low again- it was cold. She snuggled against the sheets for warmth, and in her dream, Lotor held her close. Allura frowned. Something was wrong, but she didn't know what. She fell back to sleep and knew nothing until morning...

Lotor headed to the cordinates where Castle Doom would be-should be - but it was gone! His eyes narrowed. He knew who took it - his father. He was the only one who could have! Suddenly, a blast hit outside his ship. The damned lions! He would finish them!
He turned his ship about and aimed his fire recklessly. He smirked. Let them think he could not think straight or fire for that matter! The lions kept firing upon his ship and Lotor swooped and dodged them. He had not lost his touch as a pilot all those years in prison. After a few moments of this, Lotor lauched a decoy - a fake exposion near the bow of his ship. He had timed it just right to where Yellow Lion had hit him. He cut the ships controls - now they would think his ship disabled. Of course, they would be cautious in approaching him, but he counted on the pilot of Yellow Lion to be the one to move first. He was the headstrong one of the two. Lotor saw Yellow Lion approach the ship. Good..Lotor aimed his weaponry towards one of hind legs of the lion and fired. Suddenly Yellow Lion started to fall, spiraling down towards a small planet. Lotor smiled. One down, one to go. He saw Green Lion swoop after his companion and he took the opportunity to leave. They would be occupied for awhile yet,and besides, Green Lion had been sabotaged by one of his men earlier. As soon as he landed, the lion would malfunction, as would all his communications. They would be stranded for awhile - or if his father was doing what he thought he was doing, they would be there for a long time.He had better things to do than check on them. He had to go to where he suspected his castle to be - Planet Doom.

As they slept and as Lotor hurried his ship to Planet Doom, Alliance forces were battling Lotor's forces - and the civilians on his planets. They were blinded by the drugs in their systems and slaughted cilivian as well as military people. This incited riots and so Amalgamus declared that Lotor's planets were forfeit to the Alliance. The Alliance brass were confused but they too followed orders and carried out Amalgamus' directive.
Non-Garrison people were appalled by the changing situation. Although they hated Lotor and wanted to see the man either dead or putaway, they could not believe that their own people were slaughting innocents. Many did not believe - those that did were quickly shut up. If Keith Akira had been conscious, he would have been one of the protestors, but he was still in a deep coma at Castle of Lions.
Amalgamus, to Coran's utter shock, placed Arus on worldwide martial law. When Coran asked why, Amalgamus smoothly replied that the citizenry of Arus had been suspected of aiding Lotor's cause against his father and had been behind the attack at the Castle. He also said that since Zarkon and the princess were missing and Lotor did not have them, that was proof that there was a conspiracy against the Alliance. Coran vehemently protested and was placed on house arrest at the Castle of Lions. Amalgamus said Coran was fortunate that he was not executed...Coran could not believe it when he saw from his viewscreen, robotic soldiers landing on Arus soil.
His eyes narrowed in anger. He knew who they were - the soldiers of Doom and of Zarkon, their outer uniforms of the Garrison. They weren't Lotor's. He was sure of it. And with Keith hovering between life and death, Pidge and Hunk missing, and Lance gone to who knows where there was no Voltron to fight any attack.
Black Lion and Blue Lion were "impounded" by Amalgamus. Of course there would be none. Somehow, Zarkon had taken over again under their noses and he had Allura. He knew that too. He hoped that she was dead so she would not have to see this...Coran closed his eyes. They had been too lucky, too blessed - they had taken their victories for granted and did not notice the decay from inside until it was too late. They knew that there were corrupt Alliance officials. They knew that and yet kept them on as a necessary evil. Although he and the princess had voiced their views to the Alliance, they were dismissed as intolerable. Arus, which had once championed freedom had been turned into the villain of the Alliance and of Galaxy Garrison, and now it was too late. Coran felt he was witnessing the end of their civilization..perhaps he was...
