Purpose:
The institute of bankers in Pakistan was established in 1951. Its aims and objectives are to safeguard the interests of persons engaged in banking profession, to include healthy practices of banking business and profession and to advise suitable measures for their achievement; to encourage and provide banking information, education and training and to offer facilities for higher studies in banking at home and abroad; to organize lectures and study circles, seminars and lectures and inter alia, to print and publish books, journals magazines, bulletins and brochures on subjects of topical interest and importance for all those who are connected with the business of banking, and also to work for the goodwill, fraternity and mutual respect among all persons engaged in or connected with the business and profession of banking. In pursuance of the above objectives, great importance is attached to programmes aimed at dissemination of banking education.
