A x-over/fusion fanfic series by a member of one of the powerhouses of fanfiction, CotW seems to be divided into 'Black Wind', 'Blue Wind' and 'White Wind' segments of which only the former has been completed.

Massive spoilers. The setting of CotW is in the future world of Miyazaki's 'Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind'. The Torumekian Empire is at war. Misato is one of its most capable generals, Ritsuko (The Doctor) its chief scientist and Kaji its spymaster. They battle against the Nazi Empire who seek to destroy the Sea of Corruption, which Nausicaa had discovered to the only hope of the world's regeneration. And only the legendery Dragons can penetrate the Nazi God-Soldiers' AT Fields. Dragons that must be found and reactivated, and piloted by children with the Gift like Shinji, Akane and Ranma.

This is an epic tale with full, rich and almost sensual prose. You can smell the death in the air and feel the corrupting stain of the black rain. There are plots and other plots within them. Many elements of the NGE universe have been adopted smoothly into the overarching infrastructure of the Nausicaa world. The Ranma 1/2 characters work well alongside the Eva ones e.g. Shinji and Akane, Misato and Ranma. The relationships between Misato, Ritsuko and Kaji have been thoughtfully explored through some of the finest writing I have seen.

Strong plot. Good tension with some intrigue and mystery. Epic dimensions dealing with the fate of the world and all mankind. Excellent characterisation. Definite thumbs up. Highly recommended.
