Chad peeked into Rei's room. "What are you doing?" Rei's grandfather asked.
"I'm worried about Rei," Chad replied.
"The only thing to do is to let Rei continue on her prayer until she wants to stop," Grandfather suggested.
Chad entered Rei's room with food for Rei. She didn't even look his direction, but started chanting. The flames flared.
Rei paused and noticed Chad. "I'm sorry, but can you come again later. I'm doing a very important prayer. Please."
"Alright," he agreed. He took off his headband. "Use this to tie your hair back so it doesn't get burned."
"Thank you," Rei said quietly as she continued her chanting.
Professor Chronos studied his demon seed. "It's beauty is unparalleled anywhere."
"Quite true, Professor," Kaolinite agreed.
"But you are always wasting them!" Chronos screamed.
"Someone is always getting in the way," Kaolinite replied. "But now I have the perfect plan. Not even the Senshi can get in the way."
"Very well then," Chronos said as he sent the demon seed and Kaolinite on their mission.
Serena visited the temple. She saw Chad depressed as he worked. "What's wrong?" Serena asked.
"Rei's been concentrating really late into the night on her prayers. It worries me," he sighed.
"It's because she's in love," Serena concluded.
"Who is her boyfriend?" Chad asked.
"It's you, silly," Serena laughed. "She's worried about when the two of you are going to get married."
"I don't believe it!" Chad shouted happily.
Kaolinite went to a local train station. The demon seed embedded into the train. "Now it will check for pure-souled people as they enter the train," Kaolinite thought.
On the way home from school, Erica spotted Rei. "You look sleepy," she commented.
"I am a little tired," Rei admitted.
Chad saw the two of them as they walked along. He thought Erica was Rei's girlfriend. Erica offered Rei a ride on her motorcycle and she accepted. As they drove off, Chad said to himself, "There's no way I can compete with him. I might as well admit defeat."
The wind whipped Rei's hair into her face. She pulled out the headband Chad had given her and used it to hold her hair back. "This is my good luck charm."
At the study session, Rei drifted off to sleep. The others worried about her.
"She's been up all night worrying about her true love," Serena misinformed everyone.
As she almost fell asleep, Rei stood up. "I've got to go wash my face. Maybe that'll help me wake up."
Lita followed Rei. "It doesn't look like you're worrying about love," she said. "What's really bothering you?"
Rei sighed and shook her head. "I still don't know."
Chad jogged around town, thinking about the strange man who had been with Rei. Then Chad heard violin music. He glanced at the girl playing violin, only to see the man who had been with Rei with another girl, who was playing the violin. "He's going out with this girl too!"
Erica and Michelle talked about their quest to find the talismans. Erica dejectedly said, "Are we wasting time with this?"
Michelle stopped playing her violin. "What's wrong, Erica? This isn't like you."
Erica sighed, "If it's too late, then why are we doing this?"
Michelle stated, "We knew when we started this. The wheel of destiny had already begun spinning, Erica. The new age is coming. We must find the three talismans."
Erica said, "For that..."
"We have to sacrifice everything," Michelle concluded.
Later, Chad met Erica in a deserted parking lot in pouring rain. "I challenge you to a fight!" Chad shouted.
"What are you talking about?" Erica asked, confused.
Chad rushed at Erica. Erica just dodged his wild swings.
Rei walked by and saw the fight. "Chad! Stop it!" Rei yelled. She rushed to Erica, the turned to Chad. "What are you doing?"
Chad saw Rei standing near Erica. "I give up," he sighed, defeated. "I can never win Rei." He faced Erica. "Even though you're dating two girls, I guess you're very manly. Please don't make Rei suffer. Split up with that other girl. That's all I want to say." Chad turned back to Rei. "Rei, pleas be happy."
Chad trudged away. "Don't you have to go after him?" Erica asked.
Rei shook her head. "I don't."
Back at the study session, Artemis worried about Rei. "Where is she? What's she gotten up to now?"
"Chad's not around either," Serena suggested, "Maybe they're together."
Lita ran to the girls. "Something terrible is happening. Follow me!"
They followed Lita to the outside of the temple, where Chad was. "What's so terrible?" Serena asked.
"Chad's gonna leave!" Lita exclaimed.
"Why?" Mina asked.
"Please, don't ask," Chad replied sadly.
Rei arrived at the scene. "Chad's leaving!" Lita exclaimed. Chad picked up his bags and left.
Rei looked after him. "Stupid."
"Go after him," Serena urged.
"No," Rei replied.
"Chad was very worried about you," Serena said. "He was thinking about you with his heart."
"Then why didn't he trust me," Rei replied sharply.
Serena pushed Rei. "You should tell that to Chad. Now go, before he's gone forever."
Rei thought momentarily. Then she ran after Chad.
Chad stepped into the train. The demon appeared. "Take his soul," Kaolinite appeared, just in time.
Rei arrived at the train station. Seeing Chad in danger, she transformed.
"Mars Star Power!"
"Stop! Stealing the soul of a pure person is not tolerable. For love and passion, the pretty soldier Sailor Mars will not forgive you! In the name of Mars, I will punish you!"
Kaolinite took the soul crystal. "Another dud," she said.
"Venus Love Chain Encircle!" Venus knocked the soul crystal away from Kaolinite. The other Senshi arrived as well.
"Jupiter Thunderclap Zap!" Jupiter attacked the demon, but it was too strong.
The demon turned into a train. "I will ride these Sailor Senshi to their death!"
"Evil Spirit, Begone!" Sailor Mars used her anti-evil attack to slow down the demon. "The penalty for taking Chad's soul is severe. You'd better be ready. Mars Celestial Fire Surround!" The demon started burning. "Finish him, Sailor Moon."
"Moon Heart Spiral Collision!" Sailor Moon destroyed the demon.
Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus had been watching.
When Chad recovered, Rei was watching him. "What happened to the monster?"
"You must have been dreaming," Rei replied. Then she tied Chad's injury with the band she had given him. "Next time you'll want a ribbon. You should also apologize to the poor, weak girl Erica for picking a fight with her."
"She's a girl!?" Chad exclaimed.
