I N T R O D U C T I O N
First of all, thanks for reading my FAQ. This is my third one, so I hope
I am doing a good work. I decided to create a FAQ about the Special Abiliti-
es you can earn in Samurai Shodown! 2. This is an awesome game, and I do
think the Special Abilities are a very important part of the game. Obvious-
ly, I couldn't have written this FAQ without including the Kanji (Chinese
characters), otherwise, this FAQ wouldn't be useful. Well, I think it is
time to go to what is important. Of course, if you find anything that you
think is wrong, corrections and contributions are always welcome.

A B O U T T H E C H A R A C T E R S S P E C I A L A B I L I T I E S
During gameplay in Samurai Shodown! 2, you will be able to collect Graphic
Cards when certain requirements are met. The Graphic Cards are, as their
name says, trading cards with a VERY cool Japanese Anime style picture on
them. These cards, besides forming an awesome collection, enable your cha-
racter to increase or improve his/her fighting power, using new special
techniques called New Methods of Mayhem. The New Methods of Mayhem are
VERY powerful and, obviously, very useful, since they add a lot of strate-
gy and lend a helping hand to win battles easily. Every character in the
game can collect up to 8 Graphic Cards, this is, 4 Cards with abilities
that can be used in Slash (Shura) style and the remaining 4 are for use
with the Bust (Rasetsu) style.This means that Slash style abilities cannot
be used if you are playing as a Bust style character, and viceversa. Also, you
can use a maximum of two special abilities at a time, so you must choose them
wisely.
For example, imagine you chose Galford in Slash style, and you have already
collected his 4 Graphic Cards for Slash style. You must select one or two
abilities out of the 4 that are available. This applies for all the charac-
ters in the game. Last but not least, you can play without using none of
the special abilities, for increased challenge.
There are four methods to collect the awesome Graphic Cards. Here they
are:
Method One:
To earn one of these Graphic Cards in One Player Mode, you must defeat an
opponent using your POW gauge super move (Hidden Secret Method of Mayhem),
which is done by pressing back, forward, down and then A button, when the
rage gauge is at maximum. This must be done in the final round of the ba-
ttle.
Method Two:
You must play in Survival Mode. You will earn a Graphic Card every time
you defeat eight opponents. This is really difficult when you progress too
much.
Method Three:
You will earn 4 Graphic Cards when you finish the game after defeating Yuga.
But once you have collected some Graphic Cards, you will most likely earn
only one new Graphic Card after finishing the game.
Method Four:
You must defeat Gandara. When you defeat him, you will get one Graphic
Card.
Finally, you must remember that some Graphic Cards can only be collected
by playing as a Bust Style character and some only if you are playing as a
Slash Style character. Also, if you are playing as Yuga, you will be able
to collect Cards only in Survival Mode, since Yuga has no Secret Method of
Mayhem at first. You will be able to collect Cards by defeating opponents
with Yuga's Method of Mayhem only if you have the Card that allows him to
use it. If you have it, you will be able to collect Cards in One Player
Mode too.

S P E C I A L A B I L I T I E S G R A P H I C C A R D S I N F O
I think this section was needed from the first time I wrote this FAQ, so
I wonder why I forgot to include it until version 2.5. Anyway, the purpose
of this section is to give you info about the three types of Cards that
exist in the game. These types are:
--Type no 1.--
Power Up Graphic Card:
This Card will give your character a large, and I mean it, boost of stren-
gth. This Card will give you the edge in any battle and will greatly incre-
ase the power of your character's attacks, it will even power up the Flash
Attack making it even deadlier. Very useful in Survival Mode.
--Type no. 2.--
Defense Up Graphic Card.
This Card gives you a better endurance against enemy attacks. Your character
will be able to take more punishment, and you will have a better chance to
win. They are useful when being hit from behind, since your character takes a
lot of damage in this case, this card will give great protection. Also very
useful in Survival Mode.
--Type no. 3.--
Special Move Graphic Card.
These Cards will enable an all new Special Move for your character. You
will be able to collect four special move cards for each character, that is,
two for Slash Style and two for Bust Style. Obviously, the moves are diffe-
rent depending on the style. Some Special Move Cards will give your charac-
ter a totally new special move, and some will greatly improve a certain spe-
cial move your character already has. And in Yuga's case, some of these
cards will give you a New Method of Mayhem! These cards are also very useful
to win any battle, since they always give your character very powerful tech-
niques.
And that is all, heh heh!

Here you will find the list of the Kanji (Chinese character) that represent
a special ability on the back of the Graphic Card. These are the all the
Graphic Cards you will find in the game. Then, you will find a list of eve-
ry special ability for every character, with a description and the respecti-
ve Kanji that identify them. This will help you to recognize which abilities
your opponent is using during battle, and therefore, you will be prepared
better to take on him/her.
