Chibi-Youma - A Writer's Guide

ALIASES: C-Y, Guardian of Otaku World (by Otaku and Chaos), Priestess (by the Otaku no Otaku), Youma-chan (by Meenie)

FACTION: Neutralian, though he believes himself not to be of any faction

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Despite being a shapeshifter, C-Y tends to remain as a chibified youma when the situation does not call for any specific form. Typicaly, C-Y has blue skin which grows into a hard, red, chain-mail-ish armor which covers everything but the head, and serves in place of any actual clothes. Short purple hair and black eyes complete an appearance of kawaii gone wrong. Usually a he, but Chibi-Youma has been a she from time to time.

POWERS:

• Magic Candy: C-Y has many candy-based attacks, more than he can count. These vary in power and effect; even two uses of the same attack can have different results. The only constant is that they manipulate candy in some way, usually by making it appear out of nowhere.
• Shapeshifting: C-Y can change into any shape desired, even complex machinery. However, he prefers to keep to a humanoid the shape, with occasional minor modifications (for instance, turning one of his gloves into an ax, or adding rollerblades under his feet).
• Connection to Otaku World: This is more of a weakness than a power, but it does benefit him from time to time. C-Y draws his life essence through Otaku World, from the Otaku Wars! raging on and above it. If the Wars! stop forever, Otaku World will cease to exist, and Chibi-Youma will die. He is fully aware of this fact. This gives him very limited awareness of most of the major events in the Wars! without having to be everywhere at all times... although this awareness is usually so vague as to be useless.
• Assistance: C-Y's powers are not very powerful when he's acting on his own. However, when using his powers to aid another otaku, he becomes more powerful. For instance, as a spaceship with nobody aboard, he could fly through an asteroid belt without taking too much damage. With another otaku piloting him, he could fly through a star without feeling a thing.

EQUIPMENT:

• Hammerspace: C-Y has a hammerspace pocket connected to a cave inside Otaku World. This cave gathers power and feeds it to C-Y through the pocket. If anyone finds the cave, C-Y could be in trouble.
• Magic Candy: C-Y's powers allow creation of other equipment as desired, so long as they're made out of some kind of candy. For instance, if C-Y needs a sword, he can make one out of stale sugar.

WEAKNESSES: Besides standard anti-sugar weapons (for instance, insulin), Chibi-Youma feels any attack on the Wars! itself. He will, ocassionally, feel pain if any otaku that has contributed greatly to the Wars! leaves abruptly (deaths - if they keep participating as a ghost or somesuch - and Name changes do not count). Attacks on Otaku World itself will trigger this, too, but to a lesser extent.

PERSONALITY QUIRKS: His former respect for Named Otaku (see origin) conflicts with his desire to continue the fight, leading to drastic attitude swings: one moment, he could try to chop someone's head off, and the next, he could be bandaging the wound he just caused. This behavior is usually associated with those who have complex plans. Whether or not Chibi-Youma has one is still anybody's guess. One aftereffect of his former life is that he still, on rare occasion, calls the other Named Otaku "Great Ones". He prefers sugar water to any carbonated beverage.

ORIGIN: During the first season of Otaku Wars!, he was a nameless otaku who tried to set up a church to worship the Named Otaku (the Church of the Holy Otaku, AKA the Otaku no Otaku, which is still around). He was also a she, and non-chibified. Everything changed when this NO got a name.

OW! HISTORY: A so far endless series of quests, including missions for the Senshi, the dieties Chaos, Otaku, and Chibi, and others. Although he dealt with one group of Otaku no Otaku who chased him for an entire season, attempting to strip him of his Name, there are others. Was entrusted with Meenie's care by her adopted parents Ryu and NeoAmi-chan, though their relationship has developed. Has saved Otaku World on more than one occasion, with help from his friends.

GOALS: Keep the Otaku Wars! (no matter which season) going. Worship all other named otaku. Ridicule all other named otaku. Have fun.

NOTABLE ALLIES: Although he has worked with a number of otaku in the past (Chibi no Miko's group especially), Chibi-Youma glides from ally set to ally set easily, and thinks nothing of earning trust purely to be able to abuse it later if he can gain from it. The only exception to this seems to be Meenie, whom he is reluctantly falling in love with.

NOTABLE ENEMIES: Likewise, although some otaku would love to see Chibi-Youma's still-living ashes scattered across Otaku World's sun, Chibi-Youma himself does not tend to hold grudges.
