Final LW4 scenes take place in Las Vegas

A section of highway I-215 in Las Vegas, NV is being shut down from 9am to 7pm daily to film scenes for Lethal Weapon 4, beginning April 6th and continuing on for the next 2 weeks. An interesting sight along the highway were several police cars designated with the words 'lethal weapon' scribbled on a piece of paper on their windshields. Apparently, the government of California could not decide on a car chase and explosion scene on a San Diego freeway. Since they took a long time to decide, the producers couldn't wait any longer, and decided to relocate to Las Vegas in order to maintain their July 10th, 1998 release date.
