Josh Rubinstein

Josh Rubinstein is one of the Council of Three at Aardvark Anime. Long-time friend of Cerebus, Josh jumped at the opportunity to work with him on Space Battleship Yamato: Mirror Mirror. Unfortunately, he got more than he bargained for when he signed on to the project, becoming the head sound guy. He worked on editing the soundtrack together and laying it over the video five days before its premier at Otakon '96.

After that, he took a backseat to the redubbing, letting Cerebus and Dr. Claw (Jimmy-San) do most of the grunt-work this time. He was a hard-nosed skeptic to the redubbing, and was very pleased to be proved wrong when the showing of the new version of Y:MM at Katsucon 4 was a success.

Josh is a writer by nature, and likes to work with live-action more than anime. That is why he has taken the helm for AA's live-action movies. The first of these is Super Dyna Warrior Jewish Rangers, a parody of sentai shows with a severely non-PC motif. With the help of Cerebus and Dr. Claw, Josh has just finished writing the script for JR, and is currently assembling a cast and crew for shooting. He is also beginning work scripting his second live-action feature American Otaku, which he has already shot stock footage for, as well as formulating a sequel to JR.

While Josh is a live-action guy, he has enjoyed his work with Y:MM, supplying various voices and working with the soundtrack. He will be playing a similar role in AA's next feature, Olympic Hopeful Evangelion, and is looking forward to it.

Aside from being a fan of anime, he is also a strong fan of the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, Star Wars, and most general science fiction and fantasy.
