AUSTRALIA...THE WORLD LEADERS

australC.gif (8718 bytes)

Australia have been universally acknowledged as the world's best team. Critics may say that about South Africa, but Australia have displayed their ability to bounce back from bad situations. They won the triangular in India but were thwarted by Tendulkar in Sharjag; they won the Ashes and the one-day series that followed; and they came back from 2-1 down to level the series against the Windies. They are firmly established as one of the front-runners for the Cup.
