Breakdown: After Genma nearly destroys Ranma’s mind with the neko-ken training, he seeks out the aid of his sister, who takes the boy under her care and attempts to heal his shattered mind. Ten years later, Genma returns to reclaim his son, who is now "A Tribe of One." To preserve itself, Ranma’s mind divided itself into eight distinct personalities. The story then proceeds along the lines we are all familiar with, except that Ranma’s "Tribe" causes events to resolve much differently than expected.
