A Wish that Cannot be Realized
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kohaku is sobbing in his little bed and Kouryuu feels strange that he is not in his normal form even it is still day time. Kohaku then leans on his chest and tells him sadly that he cannot change back again for 100 years. Kouryuu thinks God's punishment is too harsh on him, and it is very unfair that Hisui's punishment is way less serious than Kohaku's. Then he remembers what Kokyou says about Kohaku should not love Shuuichirou in another day. When Kokyou comes to talk to Kohaku, Kouryuu requests him to explain why Kohaku is treated like this, but Kokyou only says that it is because Kohaku has fallen in love with Shuuichirou. Kokyou then proceeds to ask Kohaku whether he really loves Shuuichirou, which Kohaku nods to, but Kokyou says there will be much calamity in the future for him. He is sure about it because it is recorded on the book, which can only be read by the Devil and his heir.
In the living room, Ryuuki tearfully asks Hisui why he chooses not to return to Heaven again. Hisui replies that he wants to stay with Kokyou because he feels happy to live with him. Ryuuki wants him to be happy, so he won't ask him to change his mind, but he still hates Kokyou for taking Hisui away forever.
Kokyou wants to tell Kohaku the secret of Shuuichirou, but the guy is there and he decides not to say it. Shuuichirou comes to bring Kohaku to the park to talk. Kokyou says there is only little time left for the both...
Kohaku feels very sorry about giving more burden to Shuuichirou because he now cannot fly and must be carried by him. However, Shuuichirou says it doesn't bother him, and he finally tells Kohaku his wish: "I want you to stay at my side." Kohaku panics because he has now become more clumsy than ever before, but it is also his wish to stay with him always. In front of the wisteria, Shuuichirou embraces Kohaku and says to him: "I love you." He has realized this ever since Kohaku was away, and now that he understands Kohaku is the one who is bound to him by a red thread on their ring-fingers, as Hotaru had told him long ago. Kohaku is filled with joy at his heart, but he also wonders what Kokyou's warning of calamity means.
Night falls, and they start home and pass by Shinju the white cat. However, it does not bite Shuuichirou this time, and Shuuichirou feels that it is looking at him full of sympathy. On their way home, Shuuichirou puts Kohaku down to tie his shoelace. Kohaku was sitting on the fence and gazing upon the stars when, suddenly, a loud crash alarmed him, and he finds that Shuuichirou is lying on the ground. His breathing has stopped!
