He awoke each day, a smile on his face, and a certain rhythm to his walk. And each day he lived his life to
the fullest because he knew that any day death could come knocking on his door and like all other living things
he would be buried, left to become one with the earth.
One day he came across a book with a promise of basic instructions before leaving Earth. Inside held
some of the simplest yet most complex ways of life, all the while telling and incredible tale of sacrifice
promising salvation. He then realized that it wasn’t so much that one lives his or her life to the fullest, but to
follow the path of a certain man, to be like him, and look to him for guidance; and that when death does come
knocking on his door, that that may very well not be the end, but the beginning of eternity. The key to life was
not to be as wild as possible, to see how many beers he could drink in one night or how many women he
could have in his bed in one year, but to live a life that was unselfish and just.
To love others before himself, to go forth into the world not judging unless he, himself, would want be
judged. With this new knowledge at hand and in mind he awoke this day, changed and clean. So with a smile
on his face and walking, not certain where he was being lead he left behind an old man, for now he was new,
and he would live he life again, to the fullest, but in a new light.
