Neko's Haikus
translated to English by Angel Mercury.
It's end of summer.
I am going to the sea.
But trees run back home...
Gentle smell of rose!
But it will wilt, and only
the stem will remain.
Red poppy petal!
For a butterfly it could
be a warm blanket...
Spring night. From the cold,
the moon wrapped herself in
a thin shawl of fog.
Flight of sakura
petals! Like the feathers of
a mythical bird...
A summer morning!
Sun peeks into the window.
Skylarks are singing.
Sakura blossoms!
Their time of beauty will pass
And petals will fly.
Flight of the petals!
All wilts. But still beautiful
Is their unheard song.
On the moon's pathway
Stands a stone, on the horizon --
Lights of a steam-ship.
Rays of warm sunlight
Pour through a window - golden
Elixir of health.
Pink oil from a rose!
Like a million flowers
In just a few drops...
Seagulls' mournful cry
Reaches to me from the sea.
A summer evening.
What a strange painting
Birds paint in the autumn, so
Loudly arguing?
