It's through the anime that most people are familiar with Sailor Moon.
The Sailor Stars series was the last series of Sailor moon, from episode 167-200. It starts out where the Super S series left off. Queen Neherina was awakened by a mysterious force, and reeks havoc with her minions until Eternal Sailor Moon heals her, but because Neherina had been a threat again, her awaking had caused the awaking of Sailor Saturn as well, so even after Neherina's defeat Hotaru remained (pay attention to this. There's a quiz on it later.)
Mamoru leaves to college in America and pretty much disappears for the rest of the series. The first villain Usagi encounters is Sailor Iron Mouse, who surprised Eternal Sailor Moon as well as Luna. They did not think there where Sailors beyond themselves. Iron Mouse cutely introduced herself,  made a Sailor Monster out of her victim, an idol singer, and disappeared in a phone booth. Too double the shock the Sailor Starlights had appeared, and tried to kill the Monster who they thought was incurable. They were amazed that Sailor Moon was able to heal the monster, for this was a power they though only "their princess" possessed.
Posing as human TV producer Chuuko Nezu (squeaky mouse), Iron Mouse went about stalking her victims, mainly guys she thought were cute^^, until her constant failures at finding the right starseed frustrated Sailor Galaxia and she killed her. Ironically, before her death, sailor Iron Mouse discovered the true identity of the Sailor Starlights.
Next up was Sailor Aluminum Siren. She's a bit ditzy, and Sailor Lead Crow volunteers to assist Siren in the search of the right Starseed. They worked in the same office area as Nezu, posing as Karasuma Akane(red crow) and Reiko Aya (manipluated spirit) Very often Crow picked the targets, and Siren attacked them, though in the end when Siren starts getting desperate, she takes on her own initiative. On her own, Sailor Aluminum Siren found out Usagi was Sailor Moon with the Silver Crystal, and challenged her during a Starlights tour flight. Unfortunately, all the sailor senshi happened to be there. Outnumbered, Siren fled, and for her failure she was killed by Sailor Galaxia.
Sailor Lead Crow now had to partner with Sailor Tin Nyanko, who she hated. Posing as human Nyanko Suzu (tin bell kitty), Nyanko didn't care at all about Siren or Mouse's death, and ambitiously went after Crow's targets, even going after Crow, inorder to make herself the Number#1 of Galaxia's Animates. When crow finds Siren's diary she discovers that Usagi has the right starseed and goes after her. Since she didn't tell her anything about it, Nyanko followed her, and once Crow had threatened Usagi out of her startseed with a Black Hole capsule, Nyanko pounced in. Lead Crow dropped the black hole, which killed her, and nearly killed Usagi, but Princess Fireball appeared with the help of ChibiChibi to save Usagi.
The next day,  posing as a student, Nyanko manages to get close enough to Usagi to attack her, but Eternal Sailor Moon knocks off one of Nyanko's bracelets, turning her half-good, half-bad. In this confused state, Nyanko attacked again at the Starlight's last concert, but Galaxia appeared and finished off Nyanko for good.
Sailor Galaxia introduced herself, and attacked Priness Fireball, who was the one of the key players in her total control of the galaxy- as long as Fireball lived, she would try to awaken the "Light of  Hope", the only force capable of stoping Galaxia. Inorder to protect her Starlights, Fireball used her power to shield them, and held her ground against Galaxia till they were at a safe distance. Unable to maintain a shield against Galaxia's onslaught for long, Fireball was killed and her startseed taken.
Vengeful, the Starlights went after Galaxia on their own, but she was much too powerful and Galaxia made sport of them. The Inner senshi tried to protect them and were killed, even the Outer Senshi were defeated, but rather than striking a killing blow, Galaxia made them the offer of Chaos bracelets, which would make them her slave, but also make them more powerful. Uranus and Neptune took the offer, and as Galaxia's slaves they attacked and killed Sailor Pluto and Saturn, much to the horror of Eternal Sailor Moon(lets call her ESM^^*). She wasn't sure who's side they were on now, but after thuroughly beating the Lights and ESM, seeming like they're finally kill the group, Uranus and Neptune suddenly turned on Galaxia, blasting her with their bracelets!
The only thing this proved was that Galaxia has no starseed at all, which is probably why she's such a souless being. Galaxia was impressed that Uranus and Neptune could withstand the influnece of her bracelets, but she took the bracelets away and killed the two anyways.
In some truly awasome attack sequences, the Starlights made their final combo attacks, and actually managed to wound Galaxia, proving she was not as invincible as she claimed. ESM tried to reason with her, knowing that she felt pain, and bled just like everyone else, but Galaxia refused to be reconciled, and continued to attack until ESM stunned her temprarily with the light of her Silver Crystal. Yet even that wasn't enough( "You expect to stop me with that pitiful shine?!") and Galaxia blasted her, taking her crystal.
Gloatingly, Galaxia prepared to kill the Lights, but Sailor ChibiChibi stepped in, reviving Sailor Moon( it is here we see, ever so briefly, the sillohette of Sailor Cosmos, before she changes into a sword."With this sword, you must defeat Galaxia!"). Now in a Princess  form, Selenity still refuses to fight Galaxia, who's attacking with more fury than ever. At once piont Selenity falls, and Galaxia dives in for the kill, only to see Selenity suddenly sprout wings and fly past her^^. It's here when Galaxia gains bat-wings of her own, and is then fully Chaos Galaxia.
In battle, by accident, Selenity does manage to slash one of Galaxia's wings, but this only makes her angry enough to shatter Selenity's sword, knocking ChibiChibi out of the picture. Again, Selenity pleads with the wounded Galaxia, knowing that, once, Galaxia had been a good sailor soldier like herself. Using the Silver Crystal, she reaches out to Sailor Galaxia...
...and gets a respose. Deep withing, Galaxia remembers, and calls back to her (" I love this planet too...") . There's a scene of the good Galaxia reaching out from a field of Star seeds, and the instant Selenity touches Galaxia, her dark armor shatters and Chaos is dispersed, disappearing in in a scremaing dark cloud.  The good Galaxia promises to retunr all the starseeds to their rightful places, and disappears with the seeds in a burst of shooting stars.
Usagi is happy to have bee able to save Galaxia, but she finds herself lonely, all her friends having been killed, but soon she herre's their voices around her and they appear, inner and outer senshi, even Mamoru and ChibiChibi. ChibiChibi thanks them, and flies away. There's a sad goodbye to the Starlights and Princess Fireball, who say they may come back to visit sometime^^. Overall, a very happy perfect ending.
Ironically, the who series ends as it began.
"Hi! My name is Usagi Tsukino. I'm a 16 year old Hoghschool student. I'm lazy, and a bit of a crybaby, but I'm actually the Sailor Soldier of Love and Justice, Sailor Moon."
              It's the end^^.
