HEY, HERE WE ARE AT QUESTER'S PAGE 11 OF THE PICTURE GALLERY

Artists paint the way they do because they live in their own reality. For them it is their virtual reality and worth reproducing.

The Taoist thought of the day:
Life is the whole story. The question is: Will there be any reruns?

Hurricanes come into the Gulf of Mexico at least once a year. The last one we had was called Claudette. We've gone through two near-misses. Bret missed us by 80 miles south and Claudette by 60 miles north. That can be scary.

What can be more reassuring about the love of a dogthan finding him on your bed?
Every time Trudy went back to the island of Borneo and her native Sarawak, she brought back with her at least fifty pounds of native carvings.
These carvings were done by Ibans and the jungle wood they used must be related to iron wood for they can weigh up to 20 pounds each! We had built-in shelves made just to display this native art work. Sometimes I think we have a better display of Borneo Sarawak art than any museum. Trudy also loves to collect stylish jackets.

With the hip replacements and trouble I have with arthritis we decided it was long past the time when our sailboat should have been sold. When the sale was finally accomplished we couldn't have been happier. The money went into the stock market. Our boat never sunk but I can't say the same about the stock market! I think you know who was the happiest over the boat sale. One look at that face should tell you the answer.

Two more sand sculpturing contests went by/ Each year it has drawn more and more island visitors. We are a village of perhaps ten thousand people and during spring break and these sandcastle affairs we draw over sixty thousand visitors. This is the great sand-mound announcing the contest for 2003. One of the better entries was this one showing workers. I happened to like the indian display. Some thought this one was quite dramatic.

Nothing like a good fitting cowboy boot. Do we still have mustang horses on our Mustang Island? No, these are just the regular riding type found in the west. I may love loud purple shirts, but my wife loves the kind of dress where pearls come into play.

Once again we had to go to Tucson. Our duplex had a front porch suffering from dry-rot. We had to rebuild it. Then we had a problem with a backyard tree growing too tall for safety. It had to be trimmed and the crew that did it thought their work worth at least a thousand dollars. Seems like I've trimmed a few trees in my time and I've never figured the work worth that much!

With all the activity it was about timefor the second hip-replacement to take place. Since my medical insurance program and the doctors involved in my past surgeries were all in Tucson, why not have it all done while we were there.

Walking became normal once again after the surgery. Again I could enjoy the west and all it had to offer.

Our quiet little fishing village sometimes get great sights passing through on our channel leading into Corpus Christi Bay. Here we had a left over aircraft carrier from World War II that would be stripped and hauled back out into the gulf to be sunk and used to attract fish and scuba divers. After workmen stripped the boat, it was hauled away to be sunk in an area away from our area. It was a loss as a tourist attraction. Other cities had more influence with the government and got permission to sink it near them.

Do I enjoy taking beautiful pictures of my wife? I couldn't be more satisfied with my camera and what I can do with it. Why is it that former nuns seem to retain their youthful looks?

Wouldn't it be great to have a house and pool looking out over the Pacific Ocean and right on the route that whales take going north or south. Who has such a mansion in such a marvelous location? This beautiful looking home and grounds belong to no other than my lifelong friend Beatrice who has now located her family on the largest island of the Hawaiian chain.

This is the latest Trudy picture.

Once again my old lover Nancy came for a vacation on our Gulf of Mexico beaches. What happened since we knew each other in the 70's? Living too well means putting on a little weight.
And how does one get out of Port Aransas? A ferry makes it easy. What happens in a hurricane alert? It becomes rather crowded that's what.

Our beach road is covered by high tide. The scary part of having a beach houseis the news that climate changes will cause ocean levels to rise. Perhaps we'll need to have an anchor! This is a seaplane anchor of stainless steel. We had it on board as an extra anchor for our boat. Will we need it for our house? By the way check out those flowers! I do get a lot of blossoms for my money!!!
Here I am building a sidewalk two years after moving in. About time, don't you think? Well, it does take time to get all those flower blossoms going....
We do have friendly curio shops in our village. This one looks like it will make you stop and think before you spend your money. Right through the middle of our village is a channel that takes some of the biggest boats afloat. As you can see we are more than just a sleepy little fishing village. We also have a beach life! What can be more pleasant than to be retired and on a beach? Gives plenty of opportunity of writing that great American novel and getting it published, right? Been there, done that. Now what?

If I were to choose the best picture out of the hundreds you just viewed which one would I pick? It will be the last picture for this presentation. Giving it much consideration, here is the one I would select.

Here is the one. This former nun of eleven years is rather angelic, don't you agree?

The parrot is Claude. He is saying, "You have been more than patient starting with page 1 and going all the way through page 11. Thank you for coming."
