MY own thoughts. ¬_¬ (some may find offensive)
So you're bothering to read my babblings, huh? ^^ okay then! Lemme say this first. You may want to leave if you are a Tamhome worshiper or a Nuriko-hater. If you are any of these, and still want to read,do not flame me. I warned you.
Personally, I think this is a very sweet series, very fantasy like. The art is beautiful, in both anime and manga too. Now, what do I think of the characters??? WELL... as many of my friedns know, my definite fav is Nuriko, also known as Ryuuen. Why? well, I think he .. wait lemme say this first. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!(not only for Nuriko, for the whole series)

Still wanna know? okay, I think Nuriko was really sweet when his sister died at an early age, but he loved her so much, that he promised that she would live through him, and "became" her. I.E, he dressed up as her, and took up her name. =( So, he lived like that, up till he was 18, when he met the Suzaku no Miko, and became one of the Suzaku Seishi. That brings up another thing. I have NO problem with him dressing like a girl. SO WHAT???? I mean, he did it for his sister!
Also, ::snif:: Nuriko just HAS to die after he finds out he really loves Miaka, and after he tells all that to Tamahome. still, he died for a good cause...
On Tamahome: I had to put up a section.
Gag me. another one of those abnormaly perfect knight in shining armor handsome hero kind of guy. I hate those kinds (namely Mamoru of SM) He is so perfect it is DULL. I hate it. I watch FY hoping to see some beautiful story sometimes, and what do I see? "MIAKA!!!!" "TAMAHOME!!!!" ::commence hugging, kissing, etc.:: Ugh. Yeah, I really did feel sorry for him when his family died, but really, you can't expect that much sympathy. I mean, if you take a look at all the OTHER seishi. (Tamahome: what? other seishi? I've been so into and full of myself I have not noticed) All the others have had sad, depressing backrounds. For example, Nuriko's sister diead when he was young. Can you imagine how that must feel to a 10-year old?? Also, Chichiri killed his best friend and lost his girlfriend. He can't undo what he's done, so he's lived on. Mitsukake lost his fiancee, a minute too late. ::sigh:: Bottom point, Tamahome sucks.
Okay, now with other stuff about this story, I think One of the best things about FY is how all the characters are in some way lovable. I mean, I can think up good things about almost everyone! Miaka is just plain cute, Nuriko is so sweet, Tasuki is hilarious, etc.etc.
Sometimes I wonder though, all the seishi seem to have such depressing backrounds. That just adds to how much you feel sorry for them, and it seems to make them really likable too!
Another character I feel sorry for is Suboshi. I mean, first, the closest person to him "dies" and he's left alone, then in a rage, he kills Tamahome's family because he was being manipulated by Nakago. Then, he falls in love w/Yui, and she treats him like DIRT while chasing Tamahome. (get a life, Yui.) Not only is Tamahome obviously obessed with Miaka, He's the worst person in the series. I don't understand Miaka and Yui's taste. Anyways, Suboshi tries so hard to get Yui to like him, but doesn' t succeed. To make things worse, AMiboshi didn't really die, but Suboshi wants him to have a good life, so he gives Amiboshi something to lose his memory. does that take courage or what? To have your twin brother forget you completly so he can have a good life?? ::sigh::
