Pokémon

Pikachu - A Pokémon of the electric element, Pikachu resembles a mouse with a lightning-rod tail. ^^ He(I'm going to refer to Pikachu as a he) was first given to Ash by Professor Oak, when there were no more of the original three pokémon that all beginners started with. At first, Pikachu did not cooperate with Ash, and had to be tied to a leash and dragged along. Later, after he fought a flock of Spearows and got hurt, Ash and Pikachu became fast friends.  Pikachu is suprisingly strong for his type of pokémon, more so than normal, which is why Team Rocket is going after him.  He also walks around freely, for he doesn't like his Pokéball. Pikachu can evolve to Raichu.

Butterfree - Butterfree was the first pokémon that Ash caught, as a Caterpee.  Caterpee evolved into a Metapod, then finally to Butterfree.  Butterfree and Ash have a pretty strong relationship, ever since the time when Metapod saved Ash from a Beedrill.  Metapod got hurt, but out of the cut that Beedrill made in Metapod came Butterfree. His attacks are wind-based, and also has a stun dust attack.

Charmander - A fire pokémon, Charmander joined Ash when he saved his life. It is said, that if Charmander's flame on it's tail goes out, it will die.  Charmander had been abandoned by it's owner, who had told it to wait on a rock for him, but he never reterned. When a storm came by, Ash, Misty, and Bronc went to save it. They rushed it to the Pokémon center, where Charmander recovered. Charmander can eolve into a Charmeleon, then to a Charizard.

Squirtle-  A water Pokémon, Squirtle originally belonged to a group of Squirtles who were abandoned before.  The group loved to play mischeif on the nearby town.  Later, they were named the town firefighters, for putting out a fire in the woods.  When Ash started to leave the town, he saw that the squirtle that he had saved was following him, and wanted to join him. Squirtle's attacks are water-related, and can evolve into a Wartortle, then a Blastose.

Bulbasaur - Bulbasaur is a very tough and strong pokémon.  He originally stayed in a cottage for pokémon, and protected all the pokémon there from getting captured or hurt.  He joined Ash when the owner of the pokémon village, Mellisa, urges him to leave, so he can learn more and become more powerful. After a short battle with Ash, he is defeated, and Ash captures him.   Bulbasaur ccan evolve into an Ivysaur, then a Venusaur.
