When the girls first see Haruka, they mistake her for a boy. She is very boyish and loves to race cars and also enjoys track. She can be both ruthless and fearless. In the Manga series she has the ability to transform between male and female. She is the Senshi of the sky and wind:

SailorUranus and SailorNeptune first appear together to try and find the Talismens so that they can prevent the awakening of Saturn. As it turns out Haruka holds one of these Talismens, the Space Sword. She also is the leader of the Outer Senshi and is known to be very decisive.

*in the Japanese Anime it is quite clear that Haruka and Michiru are gay, in the Manga Series it is only implied..I hope this doesn't offend some but it is the story line. I for one believe no one has the right to judge anyone for their sexual orientation which is why I've included this fact*
