Dr. Slump, created by Akira Toriyama ( Dragon Ball ) , is a story about a scientist name Senbe Norimaki and his robot, Arale Norimaki. They live in Pengiun village where pigs walk on their rear legs and the sun eats ice cream as he complain how hot it is. Nobody in the village knows that Arale is a robot. Arale has inhuman strenght ( One of her hobbies is to run over the police car. ) and she can run in the speed of sound.
When Senbe invented the time traveller he travelled back in time with Arale and Peeske. They saw a caveman trying to light a fire so Senbe gave him a lighter. The caveman gave them an egg in return. They brought it back to the present time and hatched the egg, and out come a fully dressed baby with wings. Arale named the baby Gacchan. Gacchan eats everything except rubber. Later on in the story he created a second Gacchan with a cocoon. His words consist of mostly pu and pi and only Arale and Turbo understands it.
In Volume 9 ( Dr. Slump has a total of 18 volumes ) Midori went to visit Senbe. While Senbe was getting tea for her she went to the washroom and overheard Senbe talking to himself. Senbe did not know Midori was in the washroom, and he jokingly said "Miss Yamabuki, will you marry me? " to himself, and Midori said yes through the washroom door. So they got marry and later had a son named Turbo.
When Turbo was born Senbe wanted gifts from people to congratulate on his birth so Senbe took him out. While driving he saw a girl getting undressed so he stopped and left Turbo in the car. Turbo crawled out and got hit by a spaceship and died. The aliens took him to their spaceship and brought him back to life. But somehow there was a side effect because the aliens have no data about humans, and Turbo ended up having supernatural power. He can speak in Gacchan's language and is even smarter than Senbe.
Senbe has a rival enemy named Dr. Mashirito. Dr. Mashirito wanted to destroy the world, but Arale and Gacchan had prevented him from doing so. His series of robots are called Caramel-man. After Gacchan and Arale defeated Caramel-man #3 Dr. Mashirito took a x-ray of Arale and made a robot exactly like her, which became Caramel-man #4. #4 is a well-mannered boy who fell in love with Arale at first sight and could not bring himself to kill her. Dr. Mashirito got mad at him and created Caramel-man #6 ( #5 was just a mask of Senbe that Dr. Mashirito tried to use it to fool Arale. ) which looked exactly like Arale., and #7. #4 thought #6 was the real Arale and when she told him she hated him and want him to get out of town #4's heart was broken. Meanwhile #7 destroyed Arale. #4 found out the truth and tried to save Arale but he was destroyed too. But Gacchan managed to fool Mashirito and destroyed #7. #4 became to known as Obotchman.
