Little One
Part 2

Was that last chapter a blow away or what!? Poor
Ami...I'm cruel, I know. I don't own SM. Sorry.... I
can't sell it to you. ^_~

Ami's drive home was a blur to her. All she
remembered was the docter's office...She wasn't
pregnant. But, that's not what upset her so much...

Never had she imagined that scar would cause her so
much trouble. Now, she didn't have to worry about
being a good or bad mother. She couldn't be either,
now.

She couldn't have children. Period.

Just the thought of that broke her heart. Snapping
back to reality, she found herself in front of her
apartment door. Wiping away the tears on her face, she
unlocked her door and walked inside.

As she was hanging her jacket, the phone rang. Sighing
sadly, she walked to her phone and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Ami?" Her heart stopped. It was Greg. "So, what did
the docter say?" He sounded so eager to hear her say
she was carring his child.

She hated having to break his heart.

All at once the tears came flowing down her face
again. Greg heard her sobs through the other end of
the phone, but didn't know what to say.

"Greg," Ami choked out.

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry," Ami said before hanging her phone up.
Greg couldn't stay with her anymore. He loved kids and
wanted one of his own. Ami couldn't give his wish to
him. And she didn't want to deprive him of it
either...
************

"..And then she hung up on me," Greg said into his
phone. "Serena, I'm worried about her. I've tried
calling back, but she won't answer my calls."

"Calm down, Greg. I'll go over and talk to her,
alright? Will that calm you down?"

"YES!!"

"You don't have to yell, Greg. I'm not deaf, ya know."
Serena sighed. "I'll go and then have her talk to you
if I can, alright?"

"Ok," Greg said, somewhat relieved.

"Good bye, Greg."

"Good bye."

Serena hung her phone up. Serena looked up when she
heard Darien's voice from the kitchen.

"What did he want, sweetie?"

"Him and Ami are going through a tough time right now.
Ami went to the docter to see if she was pregant and
when Greg called her she started crying and hung up on
him. He asked me to go over there and then tell him
whats wrong since she refuses to talk to him." Serena
stood up from the couch and streached. Walking to the
door and getting her keys and jacket, she called out,
"I'll be back soon. Keep dinner warm, ok?"

"Ok. Bye, Serena."

"Bye."
***************

Ami laid on her couch in the dark, wiping away a stray
tear here and there. She hadn't only broken Greg's
heart, she had also broken her own. She sat up and
sighed. She reached over and switched a lamp on and
looked at her watch.

"Six twenty...It feels so much longer than that."

::knock, knock::

Ami looked up towards her door.Ami didn't even wonder
who it was. She knew Greg would call one of the girls.
And odds were, it would be Serena.

Ami stood and walked to her door. Looking through the
peep hole, she was right. She sighed again and opened
the door.

"Hi Ami," Serena said in her cheerful tone. "Whats
up?"

Ami wasn't in the mood for this game. "I know Greg
called you Serena. What do you want?"

Serena stared at Ami in shock. Her tone seemed so
cold. "Ok," Serena said, dropping her act. "Greg wants
to know whats going on with you."

"Nothing," Ami said, stepping by so Serena could come
in. "Absolutely nothing."

"Thats not what he said." Serena walked into Ami's
kitchen and sat at the bar that divided the living
room from the kitchen. "Tell me whats going on, Ami."

"I already told you," Ami said, sitting across from
Serena.

"I don't believe you. Greg said you were going to the
docter to see if you were pregnant. When he called, he
said you were in tears and hung up on him. After that,
you wouldn't answer your phone. That's not like you
Ames." Serena gentely laid her hand on top of Ami's.
"Please, Ami?"

"I'm not pregnant."

Serena smiled. "Thats it? Oh, Ami. Thats no big deal.
Just keep trying!"

"And I can't get pregnant...ever." Ami's face was down
cast and Serena couldn't see her eyes.

Serena couldn't believe this. "What? How...why?"

Ami sighed and retold the story she had told Greg
earlier that day. Serena was almost in tears by the
end. She never knew about that. Some friend I am, she
thought.

"Don't cry, Ami," Serna said, walking around the bar
and hugging her friend. "You're a sailor scout and
it's destiney to have a daughter one day. Fate will
find a way. You'll see."

Ami never thought of that. "I hope youre right."

Serena smiled. "Aren't I usually?" Ami gave her a
look. "Now, you need to make up with Greg."

Ami nodded her head. "Yup. That I do-"

::BEEP!!!::

The girls looked at each other. That was a sound they
hadn't heard in nearly four years.

::BEEP!!!::

Serena sighed and flipped on her communicator. "Moon
here. Whats up?"

"Youma in the park. There are two. They seem to be
fighting each other. We should be there in case they
decide to run rampet on Tokyo."

"Gotcha, Jupiter." Serena clicked her communicator
off. "Back to business, Mercury. Ready?"

"I guess."

"Moon Crystal Power!!"

"Mercury Star Power!!"

In a flash of bubbles, feathers, pink and blue energy,
Sailors Moon and Mercury stood where Serena and Ami
just were.

"Ready, Sailor Moon?"

"I'm as ready as I'll ever be."
************

Mars, Jupiter and Venus stood on the sidelines of a
youma fight, waiting to see if they would be needed.
Sailor Moon and Mercury were there moments after being
called, and Mercury atuomatically activated her visor
and mini-computer.

"Have anything, Mercury," Venus asked.

"Not yet. Just keep watching the fight until I do.
Make sure they don't turn on us."

The scouts looked back up towards the two fighting
youma. Both were gargoyles , one female, the other
male. The female was tiger based, and the male was
lion based.

"I wonder why their fighting like this," Sailor Moon
wondered out loud.

"Yeah," Jupiter said. "I thought they were suppossed
to fight us."

"Watch out!!" Mars cried. Mercury looked up and saw
the two monsters tumble towards her. She dodged just
in time.

"Whoa!" Mercury wasn't getting any of this. Two youmas
in the park...fighting each other...wasn't making any
sense. "I'm not getting any thing on the computer."

"So, basically, we're in the dark, right," Venus
asked. Mercury nodded. "Great. Just peachy freakin'
keen." The other scouts sweatdropped.

"We need to do something," Moon said. "If we don't,
they'll still end up destroying the city while trying
to kill each other."

"What do we do, Sailor Moon," Jupiter asked.

Before she could answer, the tiger blasted the lion
with a giant, blue energy ball that sent him flying
backwards, hitting Mercury.

"Mercury!" The scouts yelled.

The lion opened his eyes, but with some difficulty and
tried to get off of Mercury. But, he was too badly
injured to move. Mercury moved him slightly so she
could roll out from underneath him. The tigress looked
up and saw the blue scout amongst her friends who had
rushed over to help her.

And the tigress' eyes narrowed.

Roaring, she began to form another energy ball in her
hands. When she was close enough, she shot it at the
scouts. Luckily, they saw her and dodged the attack.
Unfortunatley, that left Mercury alone again.

Ignoring the other scouts, the gargoyle began to
advance Mercury on all fours, as if Mercury were her
prey. She charged Mercury and Mercury dodged, but
tripped and fell down. This creature wasn't giving her
any time to call out her attacks. Nor the other
scouts.

The tigress crunched up and jumped, planning on
pouncing Mercury ad killing her. But another roar was
heard and a green fire ball shot out, hitting the
tigress in the back of the head, killing her
instantly. Looking to her left, Mercury saw the lion
leaning against the tree. He looked at Mercury and
seemed to be smiling. Looking back at her attacker,
she saw a dust pile being blown away by the wind.
Looking back towards the lion, he fell forwards and
turned to dust before he hit the ground. Mercury's
heart sank...He died protecting her, she just knew it.

"Mercury, are you alright?"

"Huh?" Mercury looked up and saw her friends staring
down at her. "What?"

"Are you ok," Sailor Moon asked.

"I'm fine. I guess." Mercury stood and sighed. The she
smiled. "Tired."

The others laughed. "Yeah. We havn't done that for a
while," Mars said, powering down.

"Good thing we decided to keep our communicators on
us, huh," Venus asked, doing the same.

The other three powered down as well and smiled. "I
guess its back to old business, huh," Serena asked.
"Just when we were getting use to the pace again."

"Its been four years, Meatball head!"

"Shove it, Pyro!"

"Guys," Ami said. "You guys haven't had any fights
since our last battle. Stop it now, please?" Greg was
right...she did baby sit the scouts.

"I guess we should go home, now," Lita said. "See you
guys later." And she left to go home.

"Bye, girl friends. Call you guys later," Mina said,
walking away also.

"I better go to," Rei said. "I bet Meridian is giving
Chad a bad time right now. Terriable two's," she said
smiling. "See ya later."

"I better go, too. You gonna be ok, Ames?" Serena
asked her friend.

"Yeah. I think I'll go home and rest. This day has
been hell on me."

"Don't forget to call Greg, Ami. I'll see you later."
Serena smiled and walked away.

Ami stood and watched her friends leave. Sighing, Ami
began to leave as well, when she heard a small crying
noise near where the battle just was. Turning around
and walking back to the battle site, she began to
listen for the noise again. And sure enough, she did.

Looking around for the source, she wandered over to
some bushes. Peering behind them, she found a baby.
Her heart softened at the sight of the poor liitle
guy. Reaching down, she patted it's head and the baby
looked up at her in surprise. And Ami stared down at
it in surprise.

It wasn't a human baby.
