Chapter Fourteen

"So, who would have thought that my fiancé would be a Sailor
Senshi? No, no, my darling. This kind of secret shouldn't be hidden
to your future husband."
"You are not my boy-friend, nor my husband. I would first die that
marry you!" screamed Mercury.
"My, my. Aren't we a little disrespectful today? You know, my
sweetheart, you should stop those little outbursts of yours. You'll
make me kill your little friend," he finished, pointing his sane arm
towards Zoisite.
"No, leave him alone. You want me, don't you? Then take this.
Mercury Bubbles... BLAST." A thick mist engulfed the place. Zoisite
was lost, he couldn't see far from his nose. He was going to
summon one of his light-crystals when a hand took his', and a
familiar voice said: "Lord Zoisite, come on. He can't see us in this
clouds." He felt being carried, and the feeling of her little hand
squeezing his own made him shiver.
"Sailor Mercury, do you know where are we going? I don't want to
lose Ren but to finish dead at the bottom of a cliff."
"Of course, milord. With my Virtual Visor I can see as in the clearest
of the days. This way, follow me." They ran into the mist, heading to
a place only Mercury could see. Even though the mist made it
difficult to see, it didn't affect the sense of hearing. The screams of
rage of Ren were clearly audible back there, and they heard this
lasts words, before they were too far away to hear anymore: "I'll hunt
you until I get you, Mercury. You will not escape from me. And tell
your friend that he is next…"
In the meanwhile, the Senshi had finished searching the entire
palace, and had found nothing. Worried, the Queen was asking the
last group that returned from their quest. "Did you found anything,
Jupiter, Saturn and Venus?" "Nothing your Majesty. It seems as if
she has disappeared completely. No one saw her after she was with
us." The frown in their faces went deeper, and Queen Serenity turned
to the rest of the Moon defenders. "Well, any other ideas?" Everyone
was silent, and many of them sighed in frustration.
Suddenly, the door burst open, and Princess Serenity entered
running, followed by four men. "Mother, I've go something important
to tell you."
"Serenity, what is this suppose to mean? You should be at the
party, with our guests."
"Yes mom, but I was curious, and followed them, and discovered...."
"Stop it, Serenity. What you have done is terrible. Now, go back and
apologize right now."
"Excuse me, Your Highness. Princess Serenity isn't the one you
should be punishing. It was my fault. I asked her to help us,"
interrupted her one of the men. He had black hair and blue eyes, and
wore a shining armor.
"And who may you be, young man?" asked the Queen, surprised
that someone dared to stop her like that. (She wasn't always that
mean, but Lady Mercury's disappearance had worried her a lot. She
was responsible for those kids life, and she didn't want a war with
the Planet Mercury).
The young man bowed gracefully, and answered: "I'm Prince
Endymion of Earth, ambassador of the Third Planet here in the
Moon. These are my Protectors and friends, the elite guard on Earth.
Jadeite, Malachite and Neflyte." As they were mentioned, each of
them bowed too.
The Queen calmed down immediately, and said: "A pleasure to meet
you, Prince Endymion. May I ask you a question? Weren't your
guardians four, and not three?"
"Precisely. One of my friends has disappeared too, and we have
reasons to believe that Lady Mercury and Lord Zoisite are together."
"Really? And what may those reasons be?" The Prince blushed a
little, and answered: "Well, we think, he... he fell...."
"He fell in love with her," Princess Serenity finished for him. The
scream was at the same time.
"What?"
The Moon Princess was unstoppable. "Look, Mother. At the
welcome ceremony, Lord Zoisite was caught watching her intently.
By the way they describe him, this was a miracle. Later on, he
recognized he liked her. Then, at the party, he disappeared about at

together."

"Ok. We must do something soon. Let's see. If I use the Silver
Crystal, I may be able to locate their aura, so you can go and...."
"No," said Pluto. Her voice was calm, but the worry was evident.
Jupiter lost her temper, and cried out: "What do you mean no? Do
you want us to leave them on their own against that psycho? Are
you out of your mind? Look Pluto, I know you are the Guardian of the
Gate of time, so you obviously knew what was happening. Why
didn't you tell us? You don't care about her?" Fury was too much for
her to bare, and she shut up. Her fists were clenched, and Neptune
put one hand in her shoulder, nodding with her head.
"Jupiter, calm down. You know that Pluto can't tell us anything about
the future. It's too much risk to take. If she says that we can't go
after Mercury, she must have a reason. Isn't it Pluto?"
The older Senshi whispered: "Yes." Uranus was about to be like
Jupiter, when Saturn approached Pluto and said: "Then tell us." The
Senshi of the Planet of the shadows looked distant, and everyone
thought that she wasn't going to speak when she said, still looking
to a place far beyond from where she was: "This is something only
Mercury can defeat. She must face it alone. She is the first, soon
you will follow. If she can overcome something like this, she will
prove that she is worth to be a Senshi. If she doesn't I am ordered to
find another girl to be the Mercury avatar. That's all I can tell you. If
you insist on going and find her, I'll be forced to hurt you."
Venus turned to her Queen, and said: "What do you mean with 'I'll
have to hurt you'? And what's that about that we will be the next
ones? I think you are bluffing, you wouldn't dare to harm us, besides,
you couldn't defeat us all, and...."
She was interrupted by a warm voice that belonged to Kunzite:
"Excuse me, Lady Venus? If you are talking to that woman in the
dark green dress, she already left." Venus face-faulted, and turned
around. "What do you mean she left?"
"Well, she bowed to the Queen, and exited through that door,
disappearing from my sight." Venus blushed, and said, crossing her
arms. "I know that." "Ok, ok. Stop arguing. I know that what Lady
Pluto said was true, so we will just have to wait until she comes
back." Uranus walked to the Queen, and said: "We are going to wait
in here like old rags? Oh my God. I need some fresh air." She
stormed out of the room, and everyone fell silent. Suddenly, a
"WORLD SHAKING!" followed by a shake in the ground made them
sigh, and Neptune said: "She needs some time alone. If you go and
try to talk to her now, you'll be World Shaken in less than a minute."
"So," said Neflyte, "What are we going to do?" The Queen
answered: "If you want, you may return to the party, or just wait in
here." "I don't think anyone would have a party mood right now," said
Serenity. "Let's just wait for Pluto to tell us what to do." "That's right"
supported Jadeite. "Let's wait..."
