Reunion

Chapter 6
The Senshi entered Mercury's room turning on the lights and
talking at the same time. Mercury opened her eyes, and
blinked several times before realizing what was going on. She
stood up lazily, and brushing her eyes, asked: "Guys, what's
going on?"
No one answered her, being too busy searching for something
everywhere in the room. They opened her closet, moved her
clothes, entered the bathroom, searched under the bed and
looked over the balcony. Mercury's mind was still a bit foggy,
but she asked again: "What's wrong?" The Senshi were busy,
moving the curtains and checking any place where someone
could hide. Then Venus turned to her, and walking to her side,
asked her seriously: "Mercury, did you feel anything weird just
some minutes ago?" The blue-haired princess nodded. "No. I
was sleeping, that's all. What happened?"
Venus didn't answer her, and searched under her bed again.
Jupiter was looking down the balcony and Mars was checking
behind the door. Mercury was starting to worry. "What are you
looking for?" Only the sound of her friends searching answered
her. She could feel her temper taking over her, but kept it
under control. "Is anyone going to answer me?" Then, Jupiter
walked to her side, and frowning, said: "The guards detected a
strange presence in here. They said it appeared to have come
from Earth"
"You mean here? In my room?"
"Yes," said Venus, standing now by Jupiter's side. "They said
it wasn't evil, just strange."
Mercury opened her eyes widely, and wondered aloud: "There
was somebody in my room, and I didn't know."
"Are you sure you didn't feel anything?" asked Mars, her
mental powers making sure no one was there.
"I'm sure. All I can remember is..." her voice faded off, and her
eyes took a dreamy look. She seemed to be staring into the
space, until Mars' voice interrupted her thoughts. "What?
What do you remember?" "It was a dream. I was dreaming
something… I can't quite remember what it was… only that it
was very beautiful… not like these nightmares I've been having
since I…"
"You don't recall anything?"
"No, just a sensation... a wonderful feeling... a kiss..."
Venus then knew what had happened. Being from the planet
of Love had given her a special power to know when love was
implicated. So, it was him. I knew it, even when we were
alerted that something was wrong in Mercury's room. A grin
spread over her face, but said nothing. I knew they loved each
other. All we have to do now is find a way to get them back
together…
"Venus, what's wrong with you?" Mars' voice woke her up.
"Err... nothing. Just thinking."
"Venus, you know what happened in here?"
"Me? Why should I? I mean… why do you think that?"
"That little smile on your face… it shows you know
something."
"You're nuts Jupiter. I was just recalling a joke."
"Yeah right, and I'm a cow."
They didn't know about it, but Mercury hadn't told them
everything. While they argued in front of her, she was still
thinking about what had happened. All I remember is having a
nightmare, and then, a soft voice whispering to me... it was
his voice, but it's impossible... he... he is on Earth. Feeling
she needed some time to think, and sleep, she told her
friends to leave.
"Are you sure Mercury? Who ever it was, he could decide to
come back."
"I don't think so. He will know that you'll be around. Don't be
so paranoid. Besides, I can take care of myself."
The Senshi left, after having replied several times that they
would stay. Mercury was left alone again, but she stayed
awake. The darkness around her was friendly, as if it was a
protecting cover. She thought about him, and looked through
the balcony. Standing off the bed, she walked to it, with her
nightshirt waving around her. She looked at the Earth, as she
clasped her hands together. I wonder what are you doing now
Zoi. I hope you know that no matter what happens, I still love
you...
As Venus left her friend's room, and idea was taking form in
her mind. Excusing herself, she went to her quarters, and sat
down on her bed. Her face changed into a very thoughtful
expression, as her senses were alerted once more as a silent
prayer reached her ears. "I still love you, Zoi…" She smiled
again, not quite believing how deep they loved each other. How
can I get them to trust the other again? A love potion won't
serve the purpose, a charm, won't either, and let's not talk
about a spell. They are already in love; they just need to
accept it. Hmm, this one is tough. I think I'm gonna need my
mom's help... She stood up, and walked to the pretty mirror
hanging from the wall. It was round and orange, with many
Venus symbols and hearts everywhere. Closing her eyes, she
focused her mind as she had been taught several years ago,
and sent a call to her mother.
The mirror's glass became watery and rippled a little, until a
face appeared in it. It was a woman, blond and with blue eyes.
Her hair was short, and appeared to be from royalty. She was
Aphrodite, Queen of Venus. The features in the faces of the
two women were similar, and the one in the glass could be
easily recognized as Venus' mother.
"Minako, my daughter, how are you?" said she, her voice as
singsong as her daughter's.
"Ok, Mom. How are things in there?"
"Pretty well, as usual. And how are you on the Moon?
Everything ok?"
"Yeah! Except for one little thing". "I suspect that's why you
called me, isn't it?"
"Indeed. It's about..."
"Your Mercury friend, I know".
"Mom, how do you do that?"
A big Minako-like smile appeared in Aphrodite's face.
"Minako, Minako. I have the same powers you do, and being
older; they are more developed than yours. I can sense every
single piece of love in the Silver Millenium, and it seems to me
that Mercury and Lord Zoisite had one of a passionate
relationship. It wasn't difficult, to tell you the truth, it was
impossible not to feel what was wrong with them."
"Mother, you always amaze me. So, if you know everything
then, what do you recommend me to do?"
"Well, since their affair was broken because of fear in
Mercury's mind and about which Lord Zoisite doesn't know a
single thing, you'll have to find a way to make her tell him. He
will understand."
"But, do you think that will be enough?"
"Dear, they never stopped loving the other. All they need is
time to talk."
"But how? They won't even be near the other, and besides,
Lord Zoisite has been forbidden to come to the Moon."
"Minako, love will always find a way, but since they won't talk
to each other, you'll have to do this..."
Queen Aphrodite's voice transformed into a whisper, and
Venus leaned forward, listening intently to her mother's plan...
