SpaceFleet

        SpaceFleet is the premier force of the Alliance, tasked with duties ranging from deep space exploration to border patrol and defense. Its officers are trained at the highly-acclaimed SpaceFleet Academy, and may be members of any of the races in the Federation.

        Much of SpaceFleet is involved in either exploration or border patrol. The Alliance is constantly seeking to widen its borders and/or welcome new members, and to this extent exploratory vessels are sent out. Unpopulated worlds are heavily sought, both for their raw materials and their value as colonization sites for overpopulated worlds. Furthermore, borders are patrolled to maintain their integrity and have ships in position if local authorities need assistance in apprehending fleeing criminals, etc.

        The border the Alliance shares with the Invisible Ducks is more heavily patrolled than others, as the Ducks are not members, but allies, of the Federation – and not very trusted allies, either. While SpaceFleet does everything it can to minimize conflicts with the Ducks – including inviting selected Ducks to attend the SpaceFleet Academy – the power and indifference of the Ducks seldom leads to friendly interactions – much less cooperation – between the two powers.
