A Brocade designHues of jewel colored rich silk sarees, matched to the gold thread create fabulous sarees, of the Brocade variety. These sarees are often embellished with embroidery, which use pearls and beads. Styles, embroidery, and prints have changed over time, from the Mughal style to what it is today.

The brocade sarees are given poetic names like chand tara - moon and stars, dhupchaon - sunshine and shade, mazcbar - ripples of silver, morgala peacock's neck, and bulbul chasm - the nightingale's eyes.
