Gujarati women wear the saree with the pallu brought over from the shoulder to the front.
The Tamil Brahmins and Maharashtrans wear the traditional nine yard saree. A portion of the nine-yard saree is draped between the legs.
The Keralite draping style is called the Mundu, which consists of a two piece saree. A portion of the saree is draped round the waist, while the other is taken over the shoulder with one end tucked at the waist.
The Bengali draping style is distinctive in grace. The long pallu is thrown over the left shoulder, taken across the back, brought forward from under the right arm and thrown over the left shoulder again. A bunch of household keys is often tied to the end.
