Stone Tears: A Sailor Moon Fanfiction

Part 1: The Weeping Willow

It was another town, another school, and another day of hell. Asami wasn’t ready for this.... She was sick of how everyone was telling her that it wasn’t her fault for her mother’s death. She knew it was her fault and no one could change that. She didn’t want to hurt her father.. it wasn’t fair to him, but she couldn’t help it, she just felt like she was trapped. She remembered how this all happened... It was her own stupid fault .....
Everyone knew that Asami was one of the greatest fighters ever! She was tall and slim. Her raven hair ended just below her back, it seemed to shimmer amber in the sun. Her chestnut eyes was full of spark. She was the most skilled, the most fastest, and the most beautiful.
“Hey... girl... I’ve got a open night Friday... so why don’t I pick you up around 8:00?” It was the school tough guy... but she knew she could kick his butt any day.
“Get the out of my face Ryo...” She said as she pushed her way pass him.
“Come on.... you know you want me...” He took a hold of Asami’s wrist. But she wasn’t going to stand for that.
“Big mistake....” She flicked her wrist and grabbed a hold of Ryo’s arm and shove him into the locker, “Don’t you ever touch me again... got that?”
Weeks passed, and Asami started to go out with one of the hottest guys in school. She liked him and he liked her. For once in her life she actually felt belonged to a guy. But it didn’t last. Ryo had scared him off some how. She was tried of him and she was going to teach him a lesson.
Asami’s mother begged her not to do it... she made her promise. But she just couldn’t keep her promise... Her soul was burning with rage... And she was going to settle the fire in her even if it meant disobeying her mother.
She found out Ryo and his gang’s hide out by some very reliable source, with a little persuading.... She was going to have a little “chat” this Ryo. She walked up the alley and grabbed Ryo by his shirt and threw him down to the ground. One of Ryo’s girl’s pulled out a gun.
“Let go of him.” The girl said to Asami.
“Drop the gun, or I’ll kill him.” Asami had quite a reputation and the girl knew she wasn’t joking around...
Then all of a sudden... “ASAMI NO!!” Asami turned to the familiar voice. Her mother was here, the girl, out of the sudden surprise, pulled the trigger and shot Asami. She was out.... she didn’t know what happen. Asami was rushed to the hospital...
Asami was waken by her father. She was glad to see his face... she was happy. But her father didn’t seem to return the expression.... His eyes were blood shot from crying, his hair was a mess, and he looked like he had been up all night. Asami turned to her side, positive that her mother was by her side, but she wasn’t there.
	“Dad? Where’s Mom?” She asked.
He broke out in tears, falling to the ground on his knees. He took hold of Asami’s hand... and look up into her eyes, “Asami... when they shot you.... They didn’t want to leave any witnesses. That shot just barely missed your heart....”
“Dad... Stop being silly. Tell me... is she okay?”
“They..... they... shot her.. She struggled to the end.”
No... It couldn’t be. She wouldn’t believe it... Her mother couldn’t have just left her! She wouldn’t believe it!
She started to get up... “No... you’re lying... I want to see her. I want to see her now!” The pain surged though her body. Every part of her was aching. She froze in mid-air. She laid back in bed.
“Asami.... They didn’t want to leave any witnesses. They thought you were dead... your lucky you’re even alive.” She just couldn’t believe what her father was telling her...
“No... I don’t believe you.... It can be!” She stopped.... she knew it was true. And she knew she couldn’t change it, “It’s all my fault....”
	“No... Asami....”
“It’s my fault she’s dead... Why did they have to take her? Mom’s dead because of me!” She fought back her tears...
Her father took hold of her, “Shhh.... No.. It wasn’t your fault.. you’re the victim here... don’t blame yourself.”
“Dad can I be alone... please..” She whispered.
“Yeah... Okay.” Her father left the room.
Her eyes were now soaking with tears.... slowly one by one the tears for her mother rolled down her cheek.
That was 6 months ago.... but the pain was still burning. And now she had to start over in a new town, new school, and a new life. Why did Dad have to get the job? No she couldn’t blame her father. This was a good thing. The first good news after her mothers death. But she swore... no guy was going to cloud her judgment again.
They lived in a beautiful house, overlooking a stunning lake. All around them was nature. It was a peaceful place, and she was sort of enjoying the new change.... She just didn’t like the idea about being alone in a new place, with no friends.
“Asami? Could you possibly help me out here?” Her father was lugging a huge box full of work stuff.
“Sure... coming.” She grabbed the end of the box and pulled it over her father’s head.
“Are you trying to out do you own father?” He smiled, she never seen him this happy after her mother’s death. She was happy for him.
“Yes.... my job is to tease a taunt you. Really Dad... you’re so silly.” She said in a smile.
“Just checking... just checking...” He walked back to the car to unload once again.

Serena was walking to Lita’s apartment. It was almost 12:30, lunch time, and she was starving... Amy was busy with computer school, Mina had a Volleyball match, Rei was busy with chores all day, and Darien was studying.
“Hey Lita!” Serena was hoping for some good food.... and who to go to for good food then Lita?
	“Hi Serena. Come on in.”
“Lita.... Please help me out! I’m so hungry!” She said as she gave her a pathetic look.
“You know me Serena... I would, but I’m all out of food.” Lita said as she open the refrigerator door.
“You mean you didn’t leave anything for me?” She sobbed, teary eyed.
“No Serena..... YOU ate all my food. You been over here three times this week.” Lita was giving Serena an eye, “You want to come?”
	“Nah.... I’ll find someone else.”
“Well... okay.” Lita notice a little racket outside. She walked over to the window, “Wow that old place next door, it’s being moved into. Maybe you should visit them, welcome them to the neighborhood. Huh?.... Serena?” It was too late.... Serena was already gone...

Asami and her father had unloaded the car and finished putting everything in it’s place.
“Asami.... I’m going to the office.... So... can you take care of everything here?” He asked as he got a box into the trunk.
“Sure Dad.” After her father left.... She headed to the kitchen. She was hungry and decided to have a late lunch. She filled a pot with water and put it on the stove. She walked out of the kitchen to the living room.... She enjoyed her new surroundings... she stopped in front of the window. It was so clam. She just had to look at it again....
“Hi-ya!” A face popped into the picture before her, scaring her, and clearly knocking off her feet, “I was just in the neighborhood and decide to drop by. You’re new aren’t you? I’m Serena!”
	This girl was very....Well....hyper, “H-Hi... I’m Asami.”
“You live right next to my friend Lita! So... what school you going to?”
“I’m going to Crossroads Junior High School.” She stuttered as she got up.
“Great! I go there too! This is a really nice place you got here. Heh...Heh..” She said as she help Asami to her feet.
“Yeah, it’s great... Would you like to stay for lunch?” It was only natural inviting her. She was nice, and this would be the perfect way to get a new friend.
“Would I?! Of course I would!” A gleam appeared on Serena’s face.

Lita hopped on her bike and peddled her way to the grocery store. She always like that little old Japanese house next door to her. It was so beautiful. Maybe I should go over there and welcome them too. Maybe I’ll bake something. She thought.
“Hey Lita! Hop in I’ll give you a ride!” It was Darien. He had spotted Lita as he was driving from the Library.
“Thanks... but I’ve got to get in shape.”
“Hey I haven’t seen Serena in a while... do you know where she is? I have some time and I wanted to take her to a movie.” He was driving at the same pace as Lita.
“Yeah.... she‘s at the house next door. She went to welcome the new neighbors.” She thought for a moment and then said, “Hey, why don’t you go over too?”
“Sure! I’ll pick up the others too. See ya around Lita!”
“Bye!” Lita arrived at the store. So.... What shall I bake? Lita when into the store. She was going to make her specialty, Cherry pie!

It was the best meal she ever tasted! Serena couldn’t stop eating. All the goodies that were there were so delicious. She was as good as Lita. I’m glad I’m her friend! Serena would gradually glance up from her bowl to see Asami. She was a nice girl. She just sat there smiling, asking if she would like more of this or more of that. She seemed pleased that she was eating like a pig.
“I’m glad you like everything. It’s rarely I get to cook for someone. My Dad is always too busy to have dinner with me.” Asami said through a smile.
Bang. Bang. It was the door. Serena barely notice that someone knocked. Asami got up and open the door. There was Darien, Rei, Mina, Amy, and Luna. Serena didn’t even look to see it was her friends. She just kept stuffing her mouth.
	“Hey Meatball head!” Darien shouted.
Serena turned her head, “Hi guys!”
They all took a seat around the table. Which Serena made a mess of.
“Hello. We’ve been rude. I’m Rei. It’s nice to meet you.” Rei was looking at Serena. She knew that it had to be hurricane Serena that did this.
“Hi. I’m Asami.” She noticed that she had better clean this mess up. She started to pick up the bowls.
Rei thought she should introduce the others, “This is Amy, Mina and Serena’s boyfriend Darien.”
“Well she is very lucky.” Darien blushed at that remark.
“Why don’t I help you?” Mina grabbed the remaining bowls that were lying on the table.
	“Thank you very much.”
Mina and Asami retired to the kitchen put the dishes into the sink and the food, or what was left, back into the refrigerator. After, they returned to the table.
“Sorry to barge in on you. But we felt like it was a good idea to greet the new neighbors.” Amy replied.
	“No , not at all.”
Amy pulled out a large bag onto the table, “These are just some house warming gifts for you and your family.” She untied the bag, reveling a box, a couple of books, an envelope, and a packet of seeds.
Darien untied the box. It was a beautiful quilt. She was so surprised at how fancy it looked.
“Oh my gosh! This must have cost a fortune!”
“No not really. my friend owns a store... she gave it to me 75% off.... although I shouldn’t have told you that.” Darien blushed once more. He felt like a fool.
“Don’t be silly. I love it! Thank you!” Serena eyed them suspiciously. After all he was her boyfriend.
	“Your welcome.”
She looked through her gifts. She picked up the 3 books.
“Wow! Of Flame and Fire, Goodbye, and To the Moon and Beyond! My three favorite books.”
“Really?” Amy was so pleased. Those were some of her favorites too. She finally had someone that didn’t just read comics. Don’t get her wrong, there wasn’t anything bad about comics, but then again there wasn’t anything bad about literature too, “I bought them for you. They’re my favs.”
“Oh yes... My Mom....um...I....mean... I read them when I was back in my old town.” Whew... that almost slipped. She wasn’t ashamed at her mother’s death, maybe a little, she just didn’t want them to feel sorry for her. She just hated when someone felt sorry for her.
Rei grabbed the envelope and handed it to Asami, “This is a charm. If you hang it above your door, you’ll have luck!”
“Thank you. You live at the temple right across from us right?” She just loved the cherry blossom there, “Your temple is beautiful.”
	“Thank you.”
Mina explained why she gave Asami seeds, “These are Roses. I thought that maybe this place would be even more beautiful with Roses.”
“Thank you. I’ll plant them next to the house.”
They stayed for an hour there. Just talking. Mina was talking to Asami about joining the Volleyball team, Amy wanted to know about all the travels she had been too, Rei and Serena were fighting most of the time. They had fun learning about Asami, and Asami had fun learning about them. Darien was a little bit quiet. Then finally he spoke up, “Asami, what happened to your mom?”
Asami couldn’t speak. She couldn’t hide any longer. She had to tell them, “It’s actually very funny, you all are going to laugh.” She told them what happened. She told them with a smile. As if it were the most funniest thing in the world, “And so you see. It’s all so very funny.” She looked at all of them. All of them, even Darien, were teary eyed, “Why aren’t you all laughing?” Her smiled faded within a tear, “It’s so funny.....”
Darien put his arm around her, “I’m sorry.”
No she wasn’t going to let this happen, “No... don’t be sorry. That’s the last thing I want from you guys.” She slowly started to smile.
Amy grabbed her hand and held it in hers, “It’s okay, we understand.”
“No you don’t. Really I’m fine.” She said as she gently wiped her tear stained cheeks.
They all were feeling sad for Asami. So they decided to leave.
It wasn’t fair to them, to her. She looked out the window once more. There in front of her was a enormous beautiful tree. But.... it.. wasn’t there before... She picked herself up and headed for that tree.
When she reached the tree she just stared at it. Her amber eyes just fixed on it. A gush of wind blew her raven sun streaked hair across her face. Asami.... What?! It didn’t just talk to me did it? No it couldn’t have. Could it?

Lita had gotten all the food that she needed and got home. She had her cherry pie almost ready, and she had a fruit basket to company it. All she had to do was wait as the pie was cooling. She stood in front of the window staring at the house. Then she noticed a girl staring at a tree. Tree? She hadn’t noticed it before. Lita.... Was the tree calling her? No... That was silly. Talking trees? Lita snapped herself out of it.

The tree. It seemed so familiar. But she knew she hadn’t seen it before. She wasn’t going crazy now was she?
“Hello? Do you live here?” Asami turned around. She was just attracting visitors today.
“Ah... Yes.. I’m Asami. What brings you here?”
“Oh... My name is Lita. I live right next to you. So I thought I might welcome you here.”
	“Yes, Serena’s friend right?”
“Yeah, I guess they have already dropped by.”
“I’ve been terribly rude, why don’t you come in?”
They both came into the house and sat at the table. They both seemed spaced out, they just kept thinking about the tree.
“I brought you some gifts... It’s my homemade Cherry pie, and here’s a fruit basket.” Lita said as she handed the gifts across the table.
“Thank you very much. I love cherry pie, how ‘bout you try my pie. Tell me what it needs.” Asami shook off the tree episode. She would deal with it later.
“Sure, I’ll try it!” Asami went to the kitchen and came back with a piece of cherry pie. It was a bit warm, she had made it just before they had moved. Lita took the fork beside her and dug into the pie. To her surprise, it tasted the same as hers, not the exact same but so close, it couldn’t be by coincidence! Could it? But how could it be? She only knew the recipe! “It’s....it’s...good.”
Asami frowned, “Is there something wrong with it? If there is you don’t have to eat it.”
Lita shook it off and smiled, “No, it’s just....so.. good! Tell me, where did you find the recipe?”
Asami’s smile appeared again, “Oh, this recipe was passed down from my grandmother to my mom.”
Lita’s shock rose up again. Unbelievable! Her mother said that it was passed down too.... How could this be? “Could you tell me the recipe? I’d like to know.”
“Ah, that I can not tell you. I’m sorry, but it’s a family secret. You understand don’t you?”
She understood all right, more than she should have. She just had to get with the other Scouts later. “Of course, I understand.”
The rest of the time they just talked, like how regular teenagers would. They talked about guys, school and about where they had been. But what was weird was that they new what they felt as if they new each other for years. Like they were best friends. But they didn’t know each other. Did they?....
