RPG: A Door Opens Started by: Nephrite on May 28, 2000 Players: Nephrite, Lady Gaia, Darien, Kunzite, Zoisite, Bentaris

Nephrite stood in his cathedral staring at the stars on the ceiling. "The time is so close at hand. When the stars will open up a door to another galaxy. A galaxy where a new ally can be found. A powerful ally. I only need one thing now. Someone to take her place on the other side." he said with a laugh as he teleported to the school. "And that some is here... somewhere." he muttered as he walked out to the gym.

Zoisite yawned as he sat in gym class. This was the one subject he detested above all. Wrinkling up his nose as the other students pushed and shoved each other, the regular horseplay, he tried to stay out of their way. Getting all hot and sweaty was no fun unless it was with Kunzite or Nephrite anyways. Unlike the star king, he didn't sense much wrong with the world today. Trying to contain his look of boredom, he slid one of the black opium capsules from his pocket, chewing on it slowly in thought.

With his legs folded benieth him, Blake sat in a corner of the gymnasium (behind the bleachers, of course), trying to hide from his teacher. Gym-class wasn't his best subject, and.. he really didn't like the idea of running today. And "Teach" forced him to run almost every day. He didn't like him. Nuh-uh. But, Blake was a little happier today. They had merged two smaller gym classes into one, and he was in class with his friend Zachary now. "Pst!" Trying to be as quiet as he could, Blake threw an eraser at Zach's back, bouncing him in the head. "Pst! Zachary! Back here! Shhh..."

Jeremy let the sweat drip down his face as he pushed himself up and down on his arms. The other students were trying their best to avoid working out, but to Jeremy this class was simply a place to push his body to his limits, although recently it was getting to the point that he couldn't get his muscles to where they were burning with slight pain and exhertion. No his body was nearly 100% in peak condition and it was starting to look as if Jeremy couldn't push himself any further. Zoisite blinked as something struck his backside.

Slinking backwards to Blake's side, he grinned cheerfully, the sakura still wearing his usual clothing instead of the gym uniform. Scratching at the high collar of his shirt, he wasn't about to take it off for his own reasons. Hopefully, Nephrite would either understand or choose to embarass him further. Plunking down, he sighed, "Can't we skip gym today?"

Nephrite watched the students. *Nobody...nobody here will work. Damn and I only have till midnight to find that person.* he thought. He blew his whisle signaling class to start. "Alright everyone, I've got some papers to grade from another class so today's a free day. There's basketball and volleyball, and try not to kill anyone, alright." he said and went back to his office. *I'll have to concentrate on this one more than I thought.*

"The night of the first coming. I've dreaded this for the longest, but it is something I have to do. Sorry beloved for not telling you, but I don't want you involved. I must seal this away before someone finds a way to open it up." Gaia muttered to herself as she walked the streets of Tokyo. She was dressed in a white sun dress with her hair in a long braid down her back. "The only problem is I won't know where the portal shall be until around midnight. I'll just have to hope I'm in the right area at the time."

Tashande pulled a pot pie from his freezer and quickly discarded the box. He pressed both of his hands against in and watched the air shimmer with radiating heat as it slowly turned soft and warm. Eventually he heard a sizzle as hot gravy started to drip out the side. Setting it down he looked back at his microwave and shook his head. "Sorry, buddy, not fast enough..." he said with a chuckle. He yawned as he started to woof it down, staring at his mostly dismantled motorcycle in the corner. His house was already cramped as it was, the bike's presence made getting to the backroom an adventure. But, it wasn't going to get better on it's own. It was hard to be a gearhead in Japan. He absentmindedly stared out the second-story window, spotting Lady Gaia down below. He just watched her pass. Gaia made him uncomfortable. Not only had she blown his religious conclusions out of the water, but as he understood the concept of elemental magic the two were diametrically opposed.

Gaia stopped for a moment, looking at the bright sun above her. *senshi, I need your help. please.* he mind called. She didn't know if anyone would hear her, but she had to try. In the back of his mind he heard Gaia's words, and his first instinct made him look around. Then he questioned whether he had really heard her or not. After a moment he realized that some kind of psychic occurence had just taken place. What to do about it was another matter. While he would have been perfectly happy to let her go off on her own, he was a senshi and that bore with it a certain responsibility. It took him a moment, but eventually he decided to follow her, walking out onto the street to try to meet up with her.

Joey let the blocks whip by his car as he drove. He couldn't get up with Melvin today... he was being interviewed at a college way off in Kobe. So he decided to crane around for new minions for his merry little band. Then he saw a lovely looking girl in a white dress pass by. Normally a lovely face readily drove him to distraction, but this one planted a small nugget of dread, even fear, in him. He had no idea why. He shook his head. Trouble seldom went away when ignored. He tried to inconspicuously tail her and see what she was all about.

Yuri ran across the field for the last time that day. Track wasn't her best subject, but she would rather run than face the wrath of the Coach. Nephrite watched the runners at a distance. *She is strong. I'll use her.* he said to himself, looking at Yuri.

Gaia walked until she reached the school. *There is a sense of dark forces at work here. I shouldn't try to do this alone, but I cannot afford to put others in danger.* she thought and walked into the lion's den.

Nari was driving her black ferrei when she saw Joey drive right past her. Hey that's the guy I saw at the shopping district a few days ago. Well I guess I should see where he's going. Maybe if I'm lucky he's going to see the person I saw him with last time.> She then started to drive behind him. nothing major just her age and most of her present history to match up with my entrance.

Tashande looked around for a second before following close behind. The fact that Gaia was out and about was weird, the fact that she was going to the school set off all the alarms in his head. Whatever was about to happen was not something he wanted to miss.

Joey let the 280 ZX idle as he tooled toward the school. He wasn't too crazy about this... especially with teachers giving him the eye and thinking that he was a hooligan out to rope the students into trouble. Especially since that was true. Then he spotted the black sports car right behind him. "Is that an Italian make?" he muttered out loud. That puzzled him: the taxes on keeping a car in Japan were very steep. And the punitive tariffs on fancy import hotrods were impossibe except for the richer-than-smart crowd. What was more puzzling, and a bit worrying, was that it seemed to tail him. And it was another female behind the wheel. *Interesting,* he mused. *The lady in white, or the lady in black. Hmmm.*

Nari noticed that Joey had spotted her. *Blast so much for the tail him and see where he leads method. Besides I think I've found another purpose for him.* She then drove up beside him. "Hello stanger I couldn't help but notice that you were looking my way. Now was it the car that got your attention or was it me," Nari said smiling. Zoisite paused in his questioning of Blake, eyes centring on another of the people running about the track. Something about that one. Tilting his head to the side, his attention moved to Nephrite and then back to the one he had spotted. So the king of stars wanted the one? Good enough. He would takethe other. Even as the smile tugged at his lips, he could feel his ricechip incisors trying to lengthen. ~Neffy-okami... mind if we actually work together? I'll make it worth your while~ he added mentally with a seductive air.

Gaia walked through the halls of the school as if she owned the place. Nobody really stopped the lady in white and asked why she was there. She followed the dark feeling in her heart till she got outside to the track. She sat on the grass and watched, waiting for something to happen. Nephrite smiled. ~Really?~ he asked with a smile. ~well, I want you to get Yuri alone. I'll need her for my next plot.~ he sent.

Tashande followed close behind. He was amazed that she hadn't noticed him yet. She must have been very deep in thought, and he knew that wasn't a good thing. "What are you doing?" he finally asked, quite certain she hadn't come for the field sports.

"Sorry," Joey said with a roguish smile. "I just hadn't seen a black beauty like that in who knows how long. How'd you get it in this uptight little country?" He tried his best to give Nari plenty of attention and keep Gaia on the field in the corner of his eye. "So, tell me, are you into the local sporting scene?"

Nari smiled back at Joey. "How I got this beauty is no mystery, it was the first thing I got when I got into my first movie. I also had some strings pulled for me," Nari said. "As for the local sporting scene, I guess I could give it a try. If I can find a place to park."

Gaia turned to Tashande. "I'm here to make sure nature stays on course." she said softly. "something's about to go down, and I have to stop it. I suggest you get yourself and any friends you hold dear out of this area. I cannot promise that land will not go unharmed."

Yuri ran off the track and into the locket room. Not much time till the next class and she would hate to be late again.

*There's something distinct about her,* Joey mused. *Almost like a kindred spirit. A familiar one.* "Actually, I think you're a smidgen... well, mature for high school sports," he said. "I was looking for someone there. I wanted to make sure she and trouble didn't become close acquaintances. Perhaps you could accompany me and help?" He eyed the car, then her. "If we can just make sure we don't drive the students to distraction. I think I spotted a parking garage not too far from here."

~the work again, Neffy-okami.~ Zoisite sent back as he slipped away from the rest of the gym class. Trailing after Yuri, he remained as quiet as a cat. A soft push opened the locker room door as he slipped inside, head tilted towards the sounds of the girl moving about. Picking up a chair, he jammed it against the doorknob, not wanting any disturbances in this. A vicious smile touched his rosen lips as he moved towards her, his incisors already starting to lengthen as his tongue moved over them in anticipation.

"If it's going to be dangerous," Tashande said, "Then there's all the more reason I should be here."

After a moment of stupidness, Blake blinked to find Zachary gone. "Oh well..." the sigh was in contempt... he blacked out like this sometimes, but wished he didn't. It brought a lot of problems down with him when he did. So now his friend was gone... and he was forced to face the wrath of "Teach". Oh fuck... "Howdy Teach... What's up?" Blake stood bravely from his little hiding place, a grin on his lips. "Long time no see, huh? It ain't my fault I've been skipping..." He covered his mouth at this last part, a sweatdrop collecting on the back of his head.. Oooops...

"Of course I wouldn't mind helping you," Nari said. She then smiled at Joey. "So which way is this parking garage, you're talking about." Zoisite sprang forward with the quickness of a cat, pulling Yuri to him before she could scream. Sakura blossoms whirled and flew about him as they vanished. Sharpened teeth scraped against her throat, never piercing it. The last thing he wanted was an angry Nephrite. Reappearing back in the Cathedral of Sanjouin Estate, he held the girl down, grinning viciously at her.

Jeremy kept his mind clear and ignored the sweat the stung his eyes from his workout. He had seen the women walk by, and that was all he needed. She wasn't a student, and she wasn't familar... translation he may be needed.

A quick pull-in and tag later, Joey hopped out of the 280 ZX and walked through the garage, silently wishing he could simply teleport into the school grounds. But not with his new acquaintance in view. He turned to Nari as he exited to hit the street. "So, you wouldn't happen to know anyone in the school personally, would you?"

Bentaris's eyes focused through the portal he had created to view the events occuring. Gaia, the one woman he loved and the woman he would do anything for was onto something. He wasn't even sure why she was at the school where the Senshi seemed to be at constantly, but she was. His eyes narrowed as he watched her walk, when the time came he would react as needed, but not until then. Until then he would trust his love to do what was right.

Nephrite closed his eyes at Zoisite's summons. ~Very well.~ he replied and went back to his office where he teleported to the cathedral. "Interesting choice." he said with a smile.

Gaia turned to Tashande with a gentle smile. "That's very kind of you to stay." she replied. "If i cannot talk you into leaving, then you might as well accompany me. I cannot take control of your future."

"Not personally," said Nari. "But they may know me." As soon as they arrived at the school, a student looked up. "Hey! It's Nari! From that new film, 'Betrayed Love'!" Shortly after that some students filed around her, buzzing and trying to lasso an autograph.

Joey smiled and said, "You seem to be occupied... I'll try to get back to you when you're free." And he proceeded deeper into the campus. *That'll alleviate the kids. Now if I can just stay out of the grownups' eyes.*

Rising off of Yuki's form, Zoisite shoved the girl into the star king's arms. Flicking his kittenish tongue out over his lengthening incisors, he growled softly, hungry for her vitae. "Hurry up and get done what you need to. I'm starving. You did say that I could have her blood..."

Nephrite nodded slowly and held up his hands, taking her precious energy. As he was near completing the energy drain a crystal shot out of her body and rushed out of the catherdal and out of sight. "What the hell was that????" he asked.

Zoisite blinked and shrugged his thin shoulders. Rising to his feet in a catlike manner, he began slinking through the shadows, trying to find the glittering object that had flung itself away from them. "I don't know what it was, Neffy-okami..."

Nephrite shook his head and turned his attention back to the energy in his hand. "This isn't going to be enough. I'll give money to bet that the crystal in this girl's body was what I needed. Do what you want with her, but I think I'm going to need someone else." he said.

Bentaris kept his features impassive as he drummed his fingers on his throne, he knew something was going to happen. The thought of not being by his love's side to protect infuriated him, yet he knew that he would have to remain here. She hadn't told him where she was going for a reason, to show up if he wasn't needed would only serve to anger her.

Gaia sat back in the sun and waited. It was her destiny and she knew it was coming, there was nothing she could do to stop it..and if she didn't stop it... Nephrite consulted the stars once more, looking for anoter target. They showed a young woman sitting in a field, peacefully. "Perfect." he said.

Jeremy's eye remained unmoving as he stared at Gaia, he recongnized her as one of the Senshi and he didn't like her presence. If anything he was now sure that he was coming across one hell of a fight building.

Nephrite hovered over the field laughing. "You are just what I need, to cover the world in darkness." he said to the young woman.

Gaia stood slowly. "I've been waiting for you, Nephrite. And you won't succeed. I won't let you harm my children!" she cried. A light flashed over her body, Sailor Living Creation stood in her place. "This planet will remain in peace and harmony as long as I am here to protect it."

Nephrite growled under his breathe. He wasn't expecting a Senshi.

A simple two words whispered and Jeremy Satterlee stood no more leaving only Guardian in his place. Keeping hidden out of view he waited, the Senshi needed to learn to battle on their own and that meant he had to assure that he didn't interfere unless absoulutly necessary.

Bentaris watched as the General appeared and almost teleported to his lover's side on instinct but restrained himself. Not yet, not just yet.

Tashande glanced about his surroundings, he wasn't sure how but he had managed to lose that woman.

Nephrite called forth a dark cloud to take over the skies. The wind whipped around Gaia's hair, causing a golden blanket to strench on forever behind her. Nephrite's laugh echoed in the clouds as lightening started to stike the ground around Gaia.

"You cannot control the forces of nature!" Gaia shouted. "Or they will in turn control you!"

Nephrite continued to laugh as a funnel cloud opened up above him. "I have waited centuries for this! Only now do I have the power to open such a portal!" he cried.

A blue rose streaked through the air straight at Nephrite's head as Guardian stepped into view, "You will not succeed this day, General."

The General laughed as the rose hit him. His eyes were wild with delight. "Its too late now, Guardian. Its too late to close this portal. Now, come to me, Queen of Darkness! Come to me and see your new world of light that you will destory!" he cried into the clouds as they parted open and a dark cylinder came down.

Gaia pulled her hands together. "Forces of nature, bind with me!" she cried. Wind whipped around her like a second skin and lifted her off the earth into the sky. "Nephrite I will not allow you to bring this evil to my world!"

A surge of energy appeared through the air as Bentaris's large, obtrusive figure simmered into view. Energy crackled around him and rose into the air, "And as long as Gaia fights you as will I."

Guardian watched as the power outpoured from the two warriors in front of him, one a Senshi and Mother Earth, the other a black armored form that even Guardian knew little of. The ancient katana left its shealth as he narrowed his eye. It was never too late. He charged forward, his sword leveled at the General for a killing strike as he whispered, "Imperium Spirit Cut."

Faint blue energy crackled to life and suddenly flared brilliantly to life as he felt the Heartstone with in him surge with energy. Even it knew that this battle would help decide the Earth's future.

Nephrite smiled. "Yes, that's right, come to me, Senshi. Come to me and meet your new world!" he cried with his arms wide open.

Gaia flew violently fast towards Nephrite, ready to tackle him to the ground. Her eyes saw through the portal for the first time, a world that was dying in front of her. "No, Nephrite, it is you who will meet your destiny!" she cried and called her winds to surround Nephrite as well. *Please, my love, help me!* her mind called.

Bentaris let his body growl with energy he hadn't released in over 2000 years, not since his failed attempt to conqueror this solar system. His breathe heaved as his body filled with the power that was his name, Bentaris. Then he allowed his body to be lifted and followed Gaia straight for

Nephrite throwing a glance at their lone other ally. Guardian caught Bentaris's eye and it communicated a great deal more than he could have hoped. Suddenly it seemed as if he knew how this battle would end for all of them, with their lives lost. In one moment he sent his glowing blue blade soaring from his hand straight for the General known as Nephrite.

Nephrite couldn't move with Gaia's winds surrounding him. The sword hit him right in the chest, causing small dropplets of blood to also come out of his lips. The sudden loss of energy from the General to the portal, started to make it unstable.

Gaia looked up into the portal. it was expanding and contracting rapidly. "Its unstable, and I can't do anything." she cried fearfully. If it remained unstable for too long it could swollow the Earth whole.

Bentaris never even blinked, the General was halted for the moment and not a threat of epic proportion compared to the portal. He took one glance at Gaia, "There must be a way to close it. If not from here than perhaps I can suceed from the other side."

Gaia shook her head. "If you go through, you won't be able to come back!" she cried.

Bentaris looked back at his life briefly, even the plans he had made when the Moon Senshi had been killed. Something had changed upon seeing the rise of the new Senshi. He glanced at Gaia, "So be it." With that he launched himself straight towards the black void of his doom.

"Bentaris!" Gaia shouted. "Winds, carry me to my love!" she cried as the wind whipped around her once again and sent her in the same direction of her lover's fate.

Nephrite slowly pulled the sword out of him, coughing up blood as he did so.

Bentaris watched as vast colors swirled around him as he entered the portal heading towards his new home.

Jeremy stepped up to the fallen Nephrite and grabbed his fallen weapon from the ground and delivered a kick at the General, "Evil never will prevail."

Gaia headed for the portal as it slowly started to close. "no..I have to go through." she muttered. She increased the wind speed and made it just as the portal tightly closed on this world. She was with her beloved, that's all that matters.

Nephrite coughed up a few more mouthfuls of blood. "Maybe not this time, but next time, Guardian. Next time you'll be the one coughing up blood." he said, slowly rising to his feet.

Guardian watched as the General faded away and turned to where the portal had stood and raised his blade in a salute and whispered, "To the valiant who have perished this day, may you live your afterlife as courageously as you lived this one." And with that the man known as the Guardian was gone.
