Jeremy's single eye traced the movements of
the
cheerleaders below
as
they shouted to raise the students of Juuban High
School into a frenzy.
It
was that time of year again, homecoming, his
first
in
close to two
decades.
He had to admit the festivities were definetly
well
practiced and full
of
spirit.
That also meant it was a prime place for the
Dark
Kingdom to
strike. He
ignored the assembled students around him
standing
and
shouting the
cheers
as the cheerleaders dictated. Some of the
students
had even tried to
get
him to stand from his seat at the back of the
bleachers, in the corner,
but
he had ignored them.
Soon it would be time to announce those
running
for homecoming
Queen and
King and then the sparks would fly. Then the
football
players would be
honored and then more nonsence. The halls would
be
filled with the
voices
of students eagerly talking about the upcoming
game
and their dates to
the
big dance.
The big dance. That would be the best
target
for
the Dark Kingdom
and
Jeremy knew he would have to go for that reason
alone.
Sweat beaded slightly down Jennifer's face,
her
and the rest of the
cheerleaders has been moving at a furious pace
since
the pep rally had
started and she was feeling it slightly. She
loved
it
though and was
glad
she had barely managed to get on the squad,
having
transferred in to
school
late. That wasn't her concern though as the
flyers
fell, her concern
was
helping to catch them and then rush to their
places
along the wall
while the
class president continued the ceremony.
Sandra crawled from beneath the bleachers
and
glanced at the naked,
crumpled form underneath. He had been good and
his
energy had been
superb
for her along with the physical enjoyment he had
provided. Casually she
smoothed her skirt and lowered her shirt before
any
of
the instructors
noticed.
Then she moved to the edge of the crowds as
the
class president
announced the first nominee for homecoming queen,
"Sandra Tenson."
The evil teenage dark queen smiled as she
walked
out onto the gym
floor
and the teen boy announced the remaining
canidates
for
king and queen.
Michiru crossed her arms. "That slut as
Homecoming
Queen? She'd only get it if she slept with the
entire
football team." she muttered under her breath.
"And from the Senior class, Michiru Kaiho!" the
announcer called out.
Michiru put on a large smile and ran out onto the
floor cheering and getting the crowd pumped. She
did
a backflip to show off her bright green
underwear,
the
main school color.
Dunican sat there wondering who was going to be
called next for the
running
of the Queen. He was hopeing Minako would be
called
as well. Dunican
smiled
as a thought came to him. What if he was in the
running for
Homecoming
King
and both he and Minako won. "That would be
great,"
said Dunican
softly.
Elizabeth sat at the top of the stands. Her legs
were crossed and her
arms
were folded over her chest. Her curly brown hair
was
in the way of
her
silver eyes as they watched the course of events
going on. She
sighed. Her
first dance at her first real school and no one
asked her yet.
Sighing
once
more she got up and made her way down the stairs
and
then out the
door. As
she made her way out three large boys eyed her
and
then slowly
followed.
"WHAT?!" squeaked Jakurin, as she heard
"Jakurin Kitsune, junior
class." She hugged her long brown skirt over her
polyester leggings,
as
Blake Ketsumi grinned crazily. "Guess there must
be
a ton of people
out
there who like your ass, Jaku-baka," he said,
offering her his
leather
jacket.
"Hush!" said Jakurin, clearly embarrassed,
her hair billowing
around
her face as the wind picked up in the high
bleachers. The juniors
started
cheering but a few glared at Blake. The freak
putting the moves on
the
fool.
"I'm running up against two school
run-arounds... and one
who's my
ally," Jakurin continued, dropping her voice so
only
Blake could hear
her
as
the crowd roared. "There's gotta be a mistake;
who
would vote for
me??
Besides you, of course," she said, pinching his
face.
"Aww, shove off!" said Blake, rubbing his
cheek in false
annoyance.
"I know I can't be the only guy around here. I
was
only allowed to
nominate
you once. I don't have a clue who seconded it."
Zachary watched from his own special
spot,
which was on top
of the
announcer's booth. He lazily pulled Kitsune's
extra
large gray
sweater
around his frail white body, and looked at all
the
wastes of energy.
Including the one with the bright green
undergarments. What a waste
of
cotton.
Giggling a bit, he hummed a bar or two
of
"Born Free"
before his
eyes settled on the old Cyclops protector. Now
there was one guy who
Zoi
couldn't decide was a threat, a nuisance, or a
good
bedmate, or all
three.
The latter being left entirely up to imagination,
Zoi wondered if he
should
find himself a date for homecoming.
Unfortunately,
the
student-teacher
relationship he was wouldn't allow him to bring
his
lover to the
dance,
and
Kunzite probably already new that.
<--Maybe I could convince him to change
appearances... just
once.-->
Minako raised an eyebrow at Dunican's words,
about to ask what he
meant
when her own name was announced by the announcer. With
a great big
confident
smile on her face Minako made her way down with the
rest of the
nominees,
waving to the crowd like a true beauty pagent queen.
((OCC: Mario made me do it =P))
Jeremy ignored the festivities when he watched
one
of the newer
girls
leave the gym followed by three men. Had he been
willing to break his
stanard, unemotional gaze he would have sighed but
instead simply stood
up
and made his own way to the exit.
In the back of his mind he remembered when she
had
thrown him in
the
chemistry lab, but the move hadn't been perfect, he
had been thrown by
better. Even if she could defend herself though it
was better to make
sure,
especially considering Ithil had appeared again on the
scene.
That very thought was enough to make the
goosebumps on Jeremy's
arms
rise as he remembered how close he had come to losing
his secret
identity.
Elizabeth throw a quick glance behind her. She cursed
to herself. *Why
are
they following me?* she thought. As she turned around
a row of lockers.
As
she neared the end she found one of the large boys in
front of her. As
she
turned around to head back they other two were
blocking her path.
"Where are
you going sweet cheeks?" asked the boy with spikey
hair and a tounge
ring.
Elizabeth looked at him and then they moved so she was
forced to stand
against the lockers. "I was going to my locker," she
said.
"Well how about you join our gang. We have been
looking for someone as
cute
as you," he explained. The look on Elizabeth's face
turned to a frown.
"Leave me alone," she said and started to go between
them but was
forced
back by one of the boys with a shaved head and nose
ring. "No ever
rufuses
us," he said and took hold of her school shirt.
Elizabeth looked at the offending hand. Slowly she
reached up with her
right
hand and grabbed the offeners hand. Digging her thumb
inbetween his
index
finger and thumb. The look on his face was a painful
one. In one quick
motion Elizabeth lifted leg and did a straight up
kick. Her foot
connected
with the boys jaw, sending him back onto the floor.
She then looked at
the
other two who were ever surprised. Both jumped back
and took out a
knife
each. Slowly Elizabeth got into a tight fighting
stance.
The boys never got a chance to use thier knives
before a gloved
hand
grabbed one's head and an ungloved hand grabbed the
others, smashing
them
together. He let their them recover as he took a step
back, still well
within their reach and spoke in the monotone voice
that had come to
strike
fear into gang member's hearts, "That is enough."
Jakurin relunctantly made her way through her
class down to the
bleachers, and towards the
group of girls beginning to form. "And now,
annoucements for King
position..."
"WHAT?!" exclaimed two men at once, stopping
them in their
tracks.
"Me?!" squeaked Zachary, as Blake cried, "A
@&*#(*# fruit?! No
way!!!"
The two boys looked at the new comer in dear as they
slowly started to
back
away. "Oh damn! Its Jeremy. Lets get out of here!"
said the one that
lead
the other two. They helped there fallen member to his
feet. Blood was
running down his jaw and cloths. "We will get you cute
stuff," said one
of
them as they took off down a hallway.
Elizabeth watched as three gang members fled. Her
silvery eyes then
focused
on her Jeremy. She slowly got out of her attack
stance. "Thank you,"
she
said to him. "But it looks like they will come after
me now. Even after
school," she said.
Dunican sat in the same spot. They just started to
announce the
conidiates
for the Homecoming King. "Our next conidiate is
Dunican Kedakai." With
a
smile he stood up and fixed his hair a bit as he
walked towards the
stage.
Alot of girls were trying to reach out but were unable
to. As he made
his
way to the stage he looked at Minako and smiled to her
with a wink.
Michiru snaked her arm behind Zachary and pinched his
butt. "Just think, if we are crowed we get a dance
and a kiss all to ourselves." she said in a sexy
voice.
Nephrite watched the festvities. Pay back was a
Bitch, and putting Zoisite's name for Homecoming King
was perfect, now to just rig the votes so he would be
crowned. But who to make the Queen???
Jeremy gaze remained unchanged as he glanced at
Elizabeth, his
voice
ever neutral, "Do not worry about them, they will not
bother you again.
I
will personally guarantee that after I have a talk
with them."
He meant it to, and it wouldn't be the first
time. Generally
when
they
made threats like that Jeremy would simply track them
down after school
and
threaten their lives and it was enough to keep them
afraid; after all
no one
in the school would swear that he wouldn't follow
through and kill
them.
Zachary's pale skin flushed as he gently
removed the prying
girl's
hands off his body. "Wouldn't that be a lovely
fantasy," he murmured,
making his way quietly between Aino Minako and Sandra
Tenson. Better
those
girls than Michiru. Besides, Minako had a boyfriend,
and Sandra only
paid
attention if you waved a wad of cash around. He
sighed, longing for a
dance
with the ice king.
Jakurin, however, was bouncing up and down,
trying to keep warm.
"Geez, Michiru, how can you not be cold?! It's like
50 degrees out
here!!"
Elizabeth nodded the looked at Jermey. "Is there
anything I can do for
you?
I mean you saved my life twice already and I feel I
have to do
something for
you in return," she said to him.
Jeremy shook his head and turned walking away in
his typical
demeanor,
"You owe me nothing. I can't simply watch others
inflict their might
on
others, it is a matter of morals, nothing more,
nothing less."
He didn't add in the fact that her very name was
identical to the
name
of the last woman he had loved. The one who had
actually had his child
and
raised his child. A child he was proud of, but a
child that would
never
know her father, she couldn't. Jeremy kept his breath
even until he
was out
of Elizabeth's sight and then ducked into the nearest
bathroom and
stall as
a couple tears dripped from his right eye.
He had a family, but it was a family he would
never know because
he had
a job, a destiny to fight the evil of the universe.
Elizabeth watched Jeremy walked away. She wanted to
say something to
him but
couldn't find the words to say them. When he
disappeared around a
corner she
turned around and sighed. "Well I better be going
home," she said
softly to
herself. *I'll probably be the only one without a date
to the dance,*
she
thought and walked out of the doors of the school.
The band began to play the music to Star Wars
Episode One as
their
finale. Jakurin plugged her fingers in her ears and
shouted over the
din,
"So, anybody got a clue as to what a Homecoming Queen
is?"
Blake began trudging to the track - his name
wasn't called. No
matter. Not a lot of people knew him, anyway. Not
that he'd want to
run
against that fruit, Zachary.
He shivered as the name danced through his head,
and pushed
through
the students leaving the stands.
Zachary curled a tendril of crimson blonde hair
between his
fingers
thoughtfully, and he also shivered. It was cold for
this time of year,
and
the sweet thought of going home to bed for the winter
enticed him.
Even
better if he could spend it with the ice king.
Zachary's face softened to a smile, as he let
out an
unintentional
purr as Blake walked by. Blake jumped and backed up a
few steps,
steering
clear of the dazed sakura. "What a freak," he
mumbled, as he offered
his
hands to Michiru and Jakurin. "Need a hand off the
platform, ladies?"
((OOC: Ice King to the rescue...))
"Zach," Kunzite murmured, coming up to the
platform so suddenly it
was
almost like he appeared from thin air. The moment he
heard Zoisite's
human
name being called, he had used a little energy to take
on the form of
the
green-haired Yakuza gang leader Zachery hung out with,
though without
the
usual hanger-one and leather. "You're late. What's
taking you so
long, I
though you said something about pizza today.."
michiru took Blake's hand and smiled and waved once
again as she decended from teh platform. "No offence,
Jarukin..but I'm really going to try and get this so
I'm actually going to work for this crown. No hard
feelings?" she asked.
" Same for me," Minako butted in from the other side of Michiru, grinning
over at the pair. " I don't know about you guys, but this has been one of my
dreams since I was a little girl..."
"Yare, yare!" joked Jakurin, taking Blake's
shoulder and flipping
herself
end over end. Landing with a slight hop, she held up
a peace sign.
"S'o.k.,
Michiru, Minako. You girls can fight over this Queen
thing as long as
you
want;
I haven't a clue what it is! I'm surprised I got
nominated at all."
Blake replied, "Me too, because I want to know
who the other guy
was!!"
They were interrupted by a slight squeak of
happiness as Zachary
let
himself be cradled. In all the sakura's thinking, he
had forgotten one
of
Kunzite's 'other forms'.
"I missed you!" he whimpered, tugging him away
from the others.
"We've
been so busy...no time for anything fun anymore."
Dunican smiled. Walking over to Minako and wrapping an
arm around her.
"You
will
always be my Queen," he said with a grin.
Elizabeth stopped and looked around. She remembered
that the football
game
was
that night. "Maybe I should head home and get my
dress," she said to
herself.
" Yeah, I allready know that... so that's why I have
to become
Homecoming
Queen, that way I'm the Queen of everybody," Minako
declared, getting
all
starry eyed. She envisioned her crowning at the dance,
with everyone
cheering
and applauding.
Rikko came walking toward the entrance with his bag on
his shoulder,
his
sword
under his trenchcoat, a package under his arm, and a
piece of paper in
his
hand
with what appeared to be some rather disturbing news
due to the fact
that
Rikko
was almost dragging his feet on the floor. "I can't
believe that
Master
Kane is
making me do this. Not only do I have some stupid
crystal that makes
me a
knight, now I have to go back to SCHOOL! I'm 18, I
should be out of
school!" he
complained as he looked at the paper in his hand.
"25/100. You can't
even
buy
a Faygo with that. Just cause I can't read Japaneese!
This SUCKS!" he
whined
again. He looked at the wall as he passed Elizabeth,
not even noticing
her.
"Homecomming? Never figured that they had THOSE here!
Geez, it's been
too
long
since I've seen one of them. Wonder if it's too late
to go? Oh well,
where
would I find a girl now? I'm sure they're all taken
by now. First day
and
I'm
already batting 0 for 5." he said in a depressed voice
in English.
Dunican smiled to Minako. "I know you can do it
Minako," he said to
her.
Elizabeth ears perked up as she heard someone speaking
english. *Weird
that
someone here would be speaking English,* she thought.
She stopped and
turned
around and looked at the guy that passed her. "You
know if you go into
the
school and ask around I bet you can find a girl to go
with," said
Elizabeth
in
english.
Rikko freaked out as he heard someone speaking
english, dropping the
package
and
the paper. *SHIT!! I forgot that they teach English
in the schools.
Gotta
be
more carefull.* he thought as he looked at Elizabeth.
"Well, that does
sound
like a good idea, but I just got here. Just got my
papers and stuff
done.
Haven't even had a class yet. Don't even know anyone
yet." he said as
he
realized that he had dropped his stuff. He bent down
and picked up the
package
and paper. As he stood up he said in Japaneese, "The
name is Saki
Rikko.
Nice
to meet you." He put out his hand to shake with
Elizabeth.
Elizabeth studied Rikko for a moment. She expanded her
own hand and
shook
Rikko. "Nice to met you. My name is Elizabeth Von
Mond," she also said
in
Japanese. "Well I hope you find someone to go to the
dance with. I best
be
going though. I have somethings to do before tonight,"
she said to him
with
a slight bow and started on her way.
