TEMPERMENT: She constantly attempts to project an image of a shy, demure, friendly girl. However, this projection is a ruse, much like her mother's one-time disguise as an obedient wife-to-be. In reality, she's much more like her father: Cold, calculating, and a little ruthless. Few ever see that side of her, however.

BRIEF HISTORY: Most of Midori's temperment and motivations stem from the circumstances of her birth. To put it simply, she's a bastard. Her father had made a vow long before never to marry until he had managed to get his name changed - something that never happened. Midori has had to grow up with all the stigmas that being a bastard brings, with the only consolation being that her her parents are still very much in love, and are husband and wife in all but name. This is not enough for Midori, however, who is deeply sensitive of and ashamed by her illegitimacy. The best (and pretty much only) way to get her furiously mad is to bring up the topic.

Fortunately, she has a way out. By the laws of her father's village, if Midori's parents were ever to marry, any children they had outside of wedlock would retroactively become legitimate. And so, Midori journeys with the same goal her father has: To change his name.

Midori has lived on the road since birth, as her father and mother were constantly on the move, either looking for Happosai, or for some artifact to use to convince him to change Tarou's name. In more recent years, Tarou's goal has become less important to him, as eighteen years living with a woman who loves him deeply in spite of his name has led him to consider the possibility that his name really wasn't all that important to begin with. As his interest waned, however, Midori's only increased.

After coming to Nerima, Midori quickly established a base of operations for herself by getting a job at the Nekohanten. Since then, she has befriended several of the Nerima residents, and has been quietly waiting and watching for any information on the man she is hunting.

MAIN GOAL: Midori wants to find Happosai and beat, bargain, or coax a new name for her father out of him. Not even Midori is sure how far she is willing to go to meet this goal.
