- All fights will be held in a chatroom (AOL Instant Messenger).
You are not neccessarily required to be at the fights, but if
you're not, your character won't be doing too much. This is a Ranma1/2-based
game, fighting and martial arts is a big part of both the game and the
show.
- Also, you have to be able to check your e-mail at least once or twice
a week (barring accidents and cricumstances beyond your control). Like
the chatting, if you don't participate, your character won't do much.
We can say that you are following along but not doing anything if you
think you won't be able to reply for a while. That way you at least
won't be left behind when the group moves.
- BUT, if you're gone too long without an excuse, your character will
be put on the PROBATION LIST. After a few weeks on the list and
I still don't here from you, your character will be removed from the
game.
- If the Admin has to place your character on the probation list more
than 3 times, and you have not given valid reasons for your absense,
you will be removed from the game. If you can't participate on a semi-regular
basis, don't sign up.
- Your Character is not required to do anything unless you want him/
her to. Don't feel like you're being forced into anything, just play
your character.
- The Admin's word is LAW! What she says, goes, don't argue. Doing so
will result in removal from the game.
- Post no more than two or three times on the same thread of conversation.
If you mega-post, you will get three warnings. If you still mega-post,
then you will be blocked from posting for two weeks. If you mega-post
again after that, you will be removed from the game.
- No spamming. This includes forwards, virus warning, joke listings,
whatever. The list is for game purposes only.
- Big DON'TS:
- Power Play = Power-play is when you attack a person, or
use some sort of special power, without giving the person you're
attacking a chance to defend themselves.
- God Mode = God mode is when you make yourself invincible
and undefeatable. Either that, or you completely ignore a wound
inflicted or a potential wound inflicted. The Admin knows what your
character can and cannot do, and will be carefully monitering the
chats. (Side note: There is only ONE unbeatable character in the
RP and that is Grandmaster Ranma Saotome, himself.)
- Doing either of the above after the first time will result in
two formal warnings. If the Admin has to speak to you a third time,
you're out of the game.
- You can't reply to everyone or ask everyone questions. Pretend
that it's an actual conversation you're holding with the other characters.
If everyone talked at once to everyone else, nothing would get done.
- IC & OOC
- IC ="In Character"; is used when you're acting out your character.
- OOC ="Out Of Character"; is used when you wish to speak as yourself
and not your character. Often specified with parentheses ( ) or
double parentheses (( )).
- Example: ((OOC: Hey guys!)) IC: *He lurks on a rooftop, watching
the group*
- How can you RP better? Know your character inside and out their
history, their personality, everything that will be vital to RPing them
in full detail. Also, know the rules, ask questions, learn the site
Admin (Mercedes) will help all that she can.
- NEW! If you want your character
to learn one of the heavy-hitter moves (such as the Neko-Ken, Hiryu
Shoten Ha, etc.) from the series, you have to have it approved by both
the Admin AND the person controling the person you want to learn it
from. NO MATTER WHAT.
- Most importantly... Don't take anything too seriously! ^_^ Enjoy
yourself and immerse yourself in the silliness.
Rules and suggestions based on the FAQ for the Transformers/Beast
Wars/Beast Machines Roleplay Forum and also on the suggestions from
Jersey Joe (JJ, Jersey), DM for the Chatwin
PBeM. Many thanks to both of them.
