Akuma De Sourou
Mitsuba Takanashi, Margaret, continuing
I first saw stuff about Akuma De Sourou in the Japanese bookstore I local. On one of the shelves they had a little poster pulled pasted up, with a really nice picture of a guy. He was darkly romantic looking, and all the text had a nice looking font. It looked very cool.
So I did a little research, and here I am, a lover of Akuma De Sourou. The artwork is a bit odd -- ok, its very odd. It's very kitsch, and very hip (the clothing styles are some of the most realistic and hip I've seen for a long time). It's veryyy nice to look at.
And naturally, the story is good, too. It centers around a girl, Kayano, who is incredibly shy. One day she wants to confess to her crush, Kamijou, and tries to give him a letter. But, she was so shy she refused to look up, and didn't notice until later that she gave the letter to the wrong person -- no other than Takeru, the most evil, notorious (and yet dangerously handsome) guy around! The next day, Takeru is waiting for her, holding her letter. Kayano thought maybe he was going to be nice and give it back, but instead he says she's going to be his servant! Kayano is horrified, and when her mother later tells her she's getting married, she's just shocked -- especially when she introduces Kayano's new younger brother... Takeru!
Sounds familar? Think again. It's all original, in all the best ways.
