Angel Sanctuary

Kaori Yuki, Hana To Yume, 20

Angel Sanctuary is a really popular comic, although personally, I can't understand why.

Most people say that the art is "beautiful", but I always thought it was too sketchy; her titles are certainly very attractive, but the work in the comic is too busy and cluttered. It makes it very confusing.

As far as the story goes, it's basically about a guy who was once an angel who betrayed god, and was forced into the cycle of reincarnation as a result, each time meeting a tragic end. In this current life, his tragedy is that he has fallen in love with his sister. Now, however, the demons he once helped in rebellion have come to ask for his help again, hoping to awake his long-dormant power.

It's a good idea for a story, but I honestly always find that she introduces too many characters, too quickly. I can never follow what's going on, and it gets boring really quickly. So I'd say it's not for everyone. Maybe her short stories are better, ne?
