Kawachi usually likes to make cute romantic comedies with a supernatural edge. In this one, its all about the angels and devils! The story centers on Arisu, just starting her high school. On her first day, which also happens to be her 16th birthday, all kinds of catastrophies occur. Arisu is absolutely devesestated, and when she goes home, she overhears her parents arguing. When she peeps in, she sees her parents, as a devil and an angel! Her mother, an angel, explains that she and her father, a devil, fell in love and got married. As such, Arisu is half demon, half angel. Since she's not really either, she can't really control her powers, and so she needs to find her true love. Her mother explains that she can track him down by following the red threads tying them together -- but Arisu discovers hers is cut, and must find him the old fashioned way!

Arisu Ga Fushigi is a very cute series, and does have enough drama to make it interesting to anyone. Also, the last volume has a nice extra story about Arisu's little sister, Mirai.
