The B.B.B.

Wakuni Akisato, Flower, 10

This is one of Akisato's most popular and famous works. Its a very cute comedy, and but it also has drama that's also works well. The basic story is that when she was little, a Tomoko thought her new stepbrother, Shishimaru, was too feminine, and thought he was gay. To try to train him to be less gay, she told him go play American football, and so he moves to Berkley to learn it. Now she's 18, and she hasn't seen him for years. Even so, she's always been waiting for him to come back, thinking he'd be the perfect guy. Now she's discovered that he's back in Japan -- only she figures it out the hard way: She finds him working as a male-hostess in a popular club. Why is he working as a hostess? Why didn't he tell her he came back -- and who's that guy he's living with?

It's very cute, and although you might think it a homophobic, the fact of the matter is that it's anything but that. Tomoko isn't open to the possiblity of his being gay, but Akisato's attitude is quite different. There are many exciting plot-twists (although to be honest, the most important one took up too much time). But, I really like Guy, and I think it's a very interesting and intelligent comic.
