Article: Athena on Email, her Fans, her Friends and her Family

Athena loves to Email..
Athena's home is decked out with the latest in communications technology and she oftens uses the computer to email or the fax machine to communicate with her friends in HK. Athena says that for her emailing is done on impulse..the info is the latest and it is sent out immediately, leaving no room for regrets. She uses email for friends in HK and since she uses it so much on impulse, it often results in " impulse meals " with them. For friends leaving further away, Athena prefers to write letters but she is quite lazy in posting them and often, letters that she has finished writing are not posted immediately and are easily " lost ". Athena also agreeds that she is especially happy when receiving letters because this form of communication can be kept for much longer.

Fans' mails are Athena's motivation..
Till today, as an actress and singer, what Athena likes to receive is of course fan mail. She says that they understand her very well, sometimes even better than she understands herself. They tell Athena what roles are more suitable for her to act in, even writing scripts for her and some fans even use the internet to do research and then send her the completed report for her to look at. And then there are those who takes the lyrics of the Chinese songs Athena sings and converts them into poems in English. Athena's fans are not just from the younger generation, there are also the more mature ones who have grown with her, already liking her when she first started out till today. Her fans' mails remain one of the strongest motivation for Athena to advance her career. She feels that the hardwork is worth it so it's okay. Whenever she feels down, all she has to do is to look at her fans' mails and she will be back on track in no time.

Athena on her Family..
As an artiste, Athena's work requires her to keep awkward hours..such that even her mother has complained to her that they have not chatted for so long. Athena knows how much her family loves her and sometimes when she comes home after work for dinner, she will ask her mother to sit down and eat with her (even though Athena's mother has eaten already), so that they can eat and talk at the same time. And there are times when just being able to see her mother's face makes Athena very happy. To Athena, her family is a very important part of her life and especially in our Chinese culture, the more we should not neglect our family.

Friends are important..
A lot of Athena's good friends are friends that she has known since young, since primary school, since secondary school and since the acting academy. Now that she is busy with her work, the amount of time Athena can spend with her friends has been reduced but that does not mean they care less about each other. They keep in touch often through email or phonecalls and Athena will also take the initiative to invite her friends out for a get-together. Athena feels that even though she and her friends don't meet as often as before, they have not grown further apart and are still as close together as ever.
