This is a special SHAZNA page. Because SHAZNA is known now for their "poppy" music,
and amongst some JRock fans, SHAZNA is not considered JRock, they may just fall
under the catagory of "Visual" Rock, but now so much rock music. Well, I have recently
stumbled upon SHAZNA's Indies album "SOPHIA". Not to be mixed with the band SOPHIA,
as some have might gotton confused with the two.
Well, this is to let all you JRock fans and SHAZNA fans, that at one point, they were and
sounded like a Visual Rock Band!! To my surprise, this is my favorite album of theirs I must
say. They are really rock, and IZAMU (as his name is back in those days) is just as pretty
as he is now. As you can see there are four members of SHAZNA back in their indies days.
IZAMU, AOI, NIY, KATSURA (now with the indies band BAISER). You can also see that
NIY and AOI are very much Visual back then, IZAMU is just always his "pretty" self, which
is visual enough for me. The reason why KATSURA left SHANZA is still unknown to me rite
now, but once I find out, I will be sure to tell.
Now I have made sound files for the songs from their Indies album "SOHPIA". These are short
samples of what they sounded like before they decided to go "poppy". All files are in RA
format, and you need RealPlayer G2 to listen to them. If you don't have one you can get one
at RealPlayer. Each song is exactly 1 minute and 30 seconds. Except for track one "If...." that
one is actually 1:30. This is just to give you an idea on how the album is, there are 7 tracks
total. If you like how they sound go and buy it, I RECOMMEND it, and it is actually worth
buying. Or if you like E-mail me privately and I can make a copy for you, but it is required that
you send me the tape.

My Review:
My intake on this album.....the best one they got I think. I mean I love their recent songs
but hearing this album, well, it's a whole different SHAZNA. Not the "rock"-poppy SHANZA,
but the "real" SHAZNA, which I think if they stuck with this, they could have been a favorite
among all Visual Rock fans everywhere. IZAM's voice is sorta the same, you can tell it's him
but you would never imagine that he can sing like that, with all that bass, drums and guitar
playing like a real rock band. I love this album and I recommend it to all JRock fans. And
to those SHAZNA fans you are certainly in for a great treat. But then again there are those
fans that just listen to JPop and might get blown away that this is the "pop" group they like
so much. Just listen and judge for your self, don't take my word for it, take SHAZNA's!!!
