The Bus's Transit of Anime Realities

Review | Webring

This is one of the first animes I've heard of, but it seemed to be to much of a show trying to be an epic, so it took a year for me to finaly it has to be worth atleast one of lawnmowing for my parents. I actually read negative reviews, but as far as I can tell you, don't belief them. The story line is great which is its biggest plus, the animation seems to have its own style, and the characters are great. It's also never afraid to throw jokes at anytime in the show, especially about our heroine's under garment. Also the Omake Theater is funnier than most of the shorts you see on Cartoon Sushi. You definately have to make time to see this show.

Omake Theater - "The Man Who Watches the Kushinada"

Episode 1: Princess Kushinada | Episode 2: It's Cruel, It's Mysterious, It's My Destiny

Our hero Kusanagi seems kinda depressed after Kaedi died, but this seems to change once he picks up a roll of film from the developers. Hell, he was created to watch the Kushinadas, nothing says its a nonprofitable job.

Episode 1: Princess Kushinada | Episode 2: It's Cruel, It's Mysterious, It's My Destiny

Omake Theater: The Man Who Watches the Kusinada

The TAC has just lost the girl who they belief was the key to saving humanity from a parasitical race called the aragami, but before she died she spoke of the other Kushinada. The scene changes to the town of Azuma in Japan where we find Momigi, a girl who has been taught that she may have to sacrifice herself for Japan, and it seems a man with seven blue beed in his skin is willingly to speed up that process. Fortunately the TAC arrive to "save her", but Momigi being a normal teenager is more concerned with making it to school on time. Only reason she has (there are reasons to go to high school?) for even being there is to find out why the assasin called her the "Princess Kushinada" and how can she have a twin sister. It may be difficult finding these answers when your school is being attacked by a tree.

Great way to open a story having the characters being even more unfamilar with whats happening as we are. The characters seem to all have their flaws which results in some decent comedy, but the drama is focused on more here. Its cool that the script only gives us clues to whats going on, but doesn't give anything away. The show ends pretty abruptly during the battle with the tree, but you might ignore that with all the build up to the action does become a little tedious yet that does give it a manga type feeling. The episode does do whats most important, make us want to see the next episode.

Episode 1: Princess Kushinada | Episode 2: It's Cruel, It's Mysterious, It's My Destiny

Omake Theater: The Man Who Watches the Kusinada

Momigi has just been captured by the tree, and no matter how much she tries to convince the plant, it still refuses to stop calling her Princess Kushinada (refusing royalty, whats wrong with her? I could thing of some bad jokes, but I won't.) Good news, she's saved by irony when Kusanagi come to the rescue. Bad news, he wants to kill her, so the aragami will also die, but does he have it in him because she does remind him of Kaedi. Also could the TAC make it in time to save the day.

For an episode that is just on big action scene, its pretty good. It finds great ways to put some raci comedy, what do you thing was the point of taking Momigi's skirt off at the end of the episode, and all characters are portrayed like they should be keeping in mind I've only seen one video in the series. Again it feels like it runs a little long, but atleast its not crunching everything into one half hour.
