The James Bond Online A2Z

What's it all about, then? Well, this site is intended to be an as-complete-as-possible encyclopaedia of the world of James Bond, detailing everything from 007 himself right down to little things that appeared on signs in the background. From Acacia Avenue to Zurich Information, it's all here, with (currently) 1674 entries. That's right - it's the ultimate repository for Bond trivia!

What you'll find in here: pretty much everything that ever appeared in any of James Bond's first 17 official filmic adventures, namely Dr No (DN), From Russia With Love (FRWL), Goldfinger (GF), Thunderball (TB), You Only Live Twice (YOLT), On Her Majesty's Secret Service (OHMSS), Diamonds Are Forever (DAF), Live And Let Die (LALD), The Man With The Golden Gun (TMWTGG), The Spy Who Loved Me (TSWLM), Moonraker (MR), For Your Eyes Only (FYEO), Octopussy (OP), A View To A Kill (AVTAK), The Living Daylights (TLD), Licence To Kill (LTK) and Goldeneye (GE). It also lists all of the notches on Bond's bedpost () and those who buy the farm during the course of 007's missions ().

What you'll soon find in here: stuff from Bond's 18th adventure, Tomorrow Never Dies (TND), just as soon as I get hold of the video or LD.

What you won't find in here: Anything from the two unofficial Bond films, Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again, anything from Ian Fleming's original novels or those from the likes of John Gardiner, or indeed anything that isn't part of the Eon Productions James Bond series. To my mind (and the minds of probably half the world's population), these films represent the definitive interpretation of James Bond, whatever the Ian Fleming purists might say. You can argue against this all you want but hey, it's my site. If you want a Fleming A2Z, write your own!

All of the entries listed in the A2Z are taken directly from the movies, apart from a few exceptions which use either information from Fleming's novels or from scenes cut from the finished films. Some entries are marked with (?), which means I am either unsure of the correct spelling, or had trouble making out exactly what was said. If you know the correct spellings, mail me! You'll be credited next time I update the A2Z.

The same applies if you know exactly who plays who - there are numerous characters listed in the credits who are never identified on screen. For instance, who is Raphael in OHMSS? He's probably Draco's henchman who attacks Bond in Tracy's hotel room and later toasts Piz Gloria with a flamethrower, but as his name is never given directly I can't be sure. So if you see someone missing who is listed in the credits and you know exactly who they are, mail me!

Speaking of the credits... there are several cases where the name given in the credits is at odds with what appears on the screen. The most obvious case is Natalya from Goldeneye, who actually corrects Bond on the pronunciation of her surname by adding a 'y' after the first syllable, but there are plenty of others. In these cases, I've gone with the on-screen version. Again, if you don't agree with this policy, write your own A2Z!

After looking through this site, you might well be asking if I don't have anything better to do with my time other than watch James Bond films. My answer to that is, "Well, duh!"
