TaeKwon-Do In Jamaica

 

* Started by Harry Gomez in 1973
* 1974 - Jamaica TaeKwon-Do Association established
* 1974 - First Demonstration by World Masters
* 1975 - Master Han Sam Soo became Chief Instructor
* 1976 - First TaeKwon-Do Tournament
* 1988 - One Student Entered World Championship on Hungary
* 1990 - 10 man team entered World Championship in Canada
* Over 5000 students to date were enrolled
* Over 24 training Black Belts on register
* 1991 - Affiliated with U.S.T.F.
* 1992 - Master C. E. Sereff officiated Black Belt Exam
* 1994 - TaeKwon-Do in Jamaica celebrates 21 years
* 1994 - New TaeKwon-Do Association Board formed
* 1995 - Master C. E. Sereff and 6th Degree Mel Steiner officiated largest Black Belt Exam
    (18 Black Belts from 1st Degree to 4th Degree)
* 1998 - General Choi holds inaugural Instructor course in Jamaica assited by Master Choi
* 1999 - Sent 8 member team to World Championships in Argentina
* 2000 - 12 member team gains 15 Medals at the 2000 General Choi Cup in Connecticut, USA
* 2001 - General Choi holds 2nd Instructor course in Jamaica.
