"Yuber- The Balck Knight"

The story begins many years ago, long before the overthrow of the Government,
long before the reign of Barbarosa, and long before the Liberation army defeated the imperialist
golden emperor. The story begins even before the world had fully begun to flurish, and even
before any form of government ruled the people. The story begins 500 years before the fall of
Barbarosa. The world is newly born, the batlle between Sword and shield created the land, the
water, and most importantly perhaps, the magic. A civilization began to form on this new world.
This civilization was known as the gate people. These people had learned to master the
mysterious art of Magic. Most importantly, the chief of these people held two very important
runes. These runes were directly associated with sword and shield, an had fallen directly from
them, as had 25 similar ones. These runes were known as the front and back runes of the gate.
These runes were both powerful and dangerous. They could be used to either summon
creatures of the nether world into the real world, or send creatures and people into the nether
world. This village lived peacefully, though they had immense powers, they never used them for
harmful purposes.
Two boys, both members of the gate people, were playing near a stream. They
were practicing fighting with each other, pretending to be great mages like the adults of their
village. These boys were brothers. They shared similar features, both had long hair, and both
had extremally dark eyes. The distinct differences were one boy had long flowing blond hair, the
other's hair was black as the night itself. The names of these two were Pesmerga and his
brother Yuber. Pesmerga was the older of the two, and his was the hair as dark as night.
Pesmerga was more built then his younger brother, his muscles were more clearly defined and
he could handle a sword better than Yuber. However, Yuber, whose flowing blonde hair shined
in the sun, was taller than his brother. Though his brother had a year's age advantage, Yuber
was at least two inches taller than Pesmerga. Pesmerga had been alive on this world for twelve
years now, Yuber for eleven. Though he was no where near as strong or good a swordfighter as
his brother, he made up for it in intellegance and magic. Since Yuber was not strong, he spent
most of his time studying and learning the ways of magic. He excelled at the art of fire, and
when often threatened by his brothers strength, would unleash a small spark upon him, giving
him enough time to get away. The two played on with their little battle, Pesmerga beginning to
gain the upper hand. Yuber had grown tired running and casting magic at his brother, and was
worn down. Pesmerga, with his strength and endurance, had caught up to Yuber, and now held
him in his grasp. "You lose again brother!" shouted Pesmerga as he hurtled his brother onto the
floor. "This is the ninth time you have lost to me in a row!!!! Just admit I'm better and that magic
is no match for strength." Collecting his defeated self, Yuber stood up and faced his brother,
"For now brother, Strength outdoes magic, but wait. When we grow older, my magic will be so
strong your strength will not be able to withstand it. no matter how stong you grow." Pesmerga
laughed loud and hard at his brothers statement, "Wishful thinking, Yuber." he said as he threw
his brother back onto the floor. As Pesmerga walked away Yuber shouted after him, "Just wait
Pesmerga, one day you'll cower when you hear the name of your brother, Yuber!!!!!" Pesmerga
laughed as he walked away. Yuber walked toward the stream to wash himself off. One day, he
thought to himself, everyone will know my name, and cower in fear when they hear it. One day.
As he reached into the water, he noticed a black rock sticking out of the water. It was large,
about the size of both his fists. He reached into the water to grab it. He tried, but hard as he
pulled, he was not strong enough to pull the rock out of position. As much as he hated to admit
it, he needed the strength of Pesmerga. He ran back into the town and ran into his house. his
father stood there. "Where were you Yuber?" Yuber ran past his father without answering. His
father grabbed his arm and said, " I asked you a question!!!". "Indeed you did." was Yuber's
response. Yuber's fathers hand came across the young ones face. Yuber fell to the ground.
"Just remember who you are Yuber. You are but an insignifigant magic user attempting to be
greater than everyone else. If you try to act better than those superior to you, you will get
nowhere." His father walked off. Yuber shouted after him, "Just wait father, I shall be superior to
everyone, when I have reached my peak, no form, human or other, will be able to stand against
my power." His father walked off without listening.
Yuber found his brother talking with a girl who lived in the town. The girl was one
of two twin daughters the village chief had. This one's name was Windy. Her father had recently
given his two true runes to his daughters. he was ill and would not live for much longer. Yuber
interupted their conversation. "Pesmerga, come quickly." Pesmerga looked angrily at his
brother. "Go away Yuber, I'm talking." Yuber persisted, "Pesmerga, I found a treasure." Windy
grew tired and decided t was an ample time to leave. "I must be going. Good night Pesmerga,
Yuber." She left. Pesmerga's anger grew into rage. "What is wrong with you?" He yelled at
Yuber. "Who cares Pesmerga, you'll never get anywhere with her anyway." Pesmerga slapped
his brother across the face with such force Yuber fell backwards and lay there, holding his face
for a long time.
"You're lucky I only smacked you." said Pesmerga as the two heades toward the
stream. Yuber's own rage grew against his brother. The two had ben close at a very young age,
but know thy began to grow apart. The two were constantly trying to outdo each other.
Pesmerga always won in fights, but Yuber outdid him in intellegence. Yuber swore to himself
one day their roles would be reversed, and Pesmerga would be the one who was filed with fear.
"Know where is this treasure?" asked Pesmerga. Yuber pointed with his finger. Pesmerga saw
the black rock. "That????" he asked. "That's your treasure? A black rock?". "If you don't want it
then pull it out for me and I'll have nothing to do with you from now on." Pesmerga considered
this, then he pulled the rock from the stream. He examined it. "You know", he said, "This is
actually pretty srong material. I think I'll use it to make a sword." "NOOOO!!!!" shouted Yuber.
"It's mine." "Shutup." shouted Pesmerga. Yuber charged as hard as he could into Pesmerga.
Pesmerga stumbled and fell into the stream. Yuber took the balck rock and ran. "This time I'll do
more than smack you. Much more!!!!" shouted Pesmerga as he ran after Yuber. As he ran
Yuber looked into the rock, and the rock seemed to look back. "You are the one who holds me,
so you are my master." Yuber was in such shock he stopped running. The rock had talked to
him. He was so puzzled by this he didn't notice Pesmerga come from behind him and grab the
rock. "It's mine, I pulled it out." he shouted as he threw Yuber to the floor. "No," shouted Yuber,
"It called me it's master." As the two struggled, they failed to notice the rock glow a dark ebon
color. The rock suddenly exploded with a massive amount of energy. The two brothers were
engulfed by this explosion and hurtled away from each other. They lay in that field by the stream,
unmoving. The rock lay between them.
