*What is Japanese English Toastmasters(JETS)?
JETS is a bilingual, public-speaking club, a local chapter of the global
organization, Toastmasters International. Our core activity is to
improve our members' public speaking skills by delivering and evaluating
speeches in both English and Japanese.
*When and where are the meetings?
Meetings are twice a month in downtown San Francisco. The current
location and meeting times are posted on our web page. Location and
time may change. Please confirm with a member before attending. After
the meeting, members go out for a light dinner. Please feel free to
join us in that social setting also.
*What are the members like?
Of our thirty or so members, approximately half are American and half
are Japanese. Our members come from a variety of professions and we
also have many students.
*Any requirements to join? Like being bilingual?
Anyone can join with the approval of the club. Your Japanese doesn't
need to be perfect, but you should feel comfortable communicating in it.
Please remember we are a speech club -- not a Japanese language
instruction class.
*How much will it cost to join?
For new members, there is an initial membership fee of $16 plus tax.
Regular dues are $22 every 6 months.
* Can I visit and sit in on meetings?
Of course! We'd love to have you as a guest.

JETSはパブリックスピーキングの会で、国際的なスピーチクラブである「トーストマスターズ」に属しています。主な活動は月2回のミーティングで、英語と日本語を使って様々な形式でのスピーチの練習をしています。
＊ミーティングの時間と場所
ミーティングはサンフランシスコで行っております。詳しい時間と場所についてはクラブのホームページにてご確認、あるいは下記のメンバーにお問い合わせください。 ミーティング後に軽いお食事会もありますが、そちらの方にも是非どうぞ。
*現メンバーについて
JETSのメンバーは日本人とアメリカ人が半々で総勢30人ほどです。社会人のほか、学生なども多く、色々な人が参加しています。
*バイリンガルでなくても大丈夫
英語を完璧に話せる必要はありませんが、英語が気楽に使えるレベルであった方がいいでしょう。ただし、JETSはスピーチクラブですので英語についての語学指導は行っておりません。

入会費は＄16（税別）で、半年おきに＄22程の会費を収めて頂くことになります。
