Tsukasa, half awake, half asleep: {------...The normal day with normal occurrences are so happy------... The fact that I can wake up and greet my family------}

Pic of Tsukasa, Toshi and Sho over-energetically saying good morning... More like hitting each other. Taku is in the back.

Taku: "Hey! Don't use your body just to say good morning!"

Tsukasa, drowsily: {The fact that I can have meals with my family------...}

Toshi, hanging on to Tsukasa's leg: "Give me mine back too------!"

Taku, in the back: "Hey---! Stop fighting---!"

Tsukasa, slowly opening her eyes: {---And---...}

She starts at the sight before her.

It's someone's shoulder. A male shoulder...

She blanches. "......"

Tsukasa slowly looks up at the owner of the shoulder: "...... ......"

Ryuji is peacefully sleeping face to face with Tsukasa. [He's topless... She's wearing the minimum of a tank top...]

Something inside Tsukasa snaps.

Tsukasa: {......And------...}

A few moments later, Ryuji is sprouting many bruises, bumps, scratches and 4 bandages on his face. His hair is also dishevelled.

Ryuji, with a swollen face: "...I'm saying, that since my death experience, I've become totally houkouonchi." [houkouonchi = directionless, like Ryoga from Ranma 1/2 or the anesan from Kadokanegumi.] "I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and not knowing the way back I must have wandered into your room,"

Tsukasa, cutting in: "LIAR!! You have an adjoining bathroom in your room!!" She's showing fangs and a very red face.

Ryuji: "...What? Seems that I've even forgotten that. I mean, since my death experience, my memory has,"

Tsukasa: "You bastard! Is that your next explanation------!!" {If you can only think of such useless lies then you should get rid of that brain---!}

Kamo-san is smiling away. {---...Aa... It's been such a long time since morning has begun with such a comedy between Sandaime and Tsukasa-san---...}

In the background, Tsukasa and Ryuji are still arguing.

Tsukasa: "If you don't like that then pull your brain out from your nose! I'll add 2 or 3 more lines on it with a thick oil-based marker------!"

Ryuji, in a nasal tone: "A! Stop it! You're actually gonna!?"

Kamo-san: {...M~~~m... How peaceful it is------...}

Tsukasa: "---Dammit!! That Ryuji is using the fact that he just got over a grave situation!!"

Sho, matter-of-factly: "...If it bothers you that much then you could just move into our room------..." {That way, Taku-nii is there and Sandaime can't sneak into your bed that easily.}

Tsukasa stares with wide eyes. She, Toshi and Sho are sitting down to breakfast, Japanese style [i.e. with rice].

Tsukasa: "...... ...Um... ...Aa... ...But you know... Since you'll probably only be here (at Kuryugumi) for a short while, and when you guys move back to the apartment it'll be a pain to move my stuff back."

Toshi, holding a cup of tea and looking at his sister suspiciously: "H~~m ...You have enough stuff for it to be a pain." {Then would you like help?}

Tsukasa, with oranges for eyes: "E...!?"

Toshi and Tsukasa: "...... ......"

Toshi, with eyes of disbelief: "...Tsukasa... ...Could it be that while you say all of that, you're secretly waiting for Sandaime to sneak into your place?"

Tsukasa: "WHA!!? WHA TH' HELL ARE YOU SAYING YOU MAN------!! You're making me sound like an older woman wearin' thin clothes wanting to be 'tacked by some chikan or something------!!" She slams the table, spilling her breakfast in the process. [It's like she's mixing slang words from different dialects and using language that an old man might use...]

Toshi: "Eei! What language do you speak------!?"

Sho bursts into frantic tears: "Uhaaaaaaaaaannn Tsukasa's become weird~~~!" [As if she already isn't...]

Taku is standing behind all of them wearing a striped apron and with his hands on his hips. "......"

Taku: "...SHUT UP...!!!" {How many times do I have to tell you not to get rowdy at mealtime!?} A bandage can be seen on his right fist. Three heads are leaning on the breakfast table with steam rising from lumps on each head.

Toshi's words echo through Tsukasa's mind.

"Aren't you secretly waiting for Sandaime to sneak into your place?"

Tsukasa: {...Hell no...!! ...But... like how after finding that I wasn't related to my family I'm happy that I still have them... maybe after knowing that I might have lost Ryuji that I like to feel his existence, presence, scent and warmth ---...} She's muttering to herself as she and her brothers set off for school.

Sho: "...A! Tsukasaaa."

Tsukasa snaps out of her thoughts: "...N?" She looks in shock. "GE!?"

The Kuryugumi kumiin are gathered around.

Tsukasa: "W... What the hell!?" {What's going on!!?}"...W...Why are the yakuza making such a hanamichi like this...!?" {It's not like Ryuji's going out or anything!} [hanamichi = runway; i.e. a protected path for someone important to travel down from say a car to a building entrance etc.]

Toshi: "A! Couldn't it be that it's because you're the descendent of a famous woman in the gokudo world,"

Tsukasa, with a lump on her forehead and steam rising from it: "Did you state something Toshi-dono ?" She's smiling. [-dono is something you attach on to someone's name meaning Mr/Mrs/Mistress/Miss. If anyone reads "X" by CLAMP it's what Hinoto used to use to address Saiki.]

Toshi, blanched, and with a larger lump on his forehead: "No... You were just hearing things... Tsukasa-dono."

Sho looks up at Toshi's head in horror.

A figure steps up behind them. "They're bodyguards."

It's Kamo-san.

Kamo-san: "No matter what you say, you're Hogou's kage no seisai's,"

A close up of Tsukasa's angry face glares up at Kamo-san. Steam rises from where their foreheads are in contact.

Kamo-san: {...That was a joke...} "They're just seeing you off... ......Since Sandaime is saying he wants to go to school..."

Tsukasa, with a second lump on the first one on her forehead: "!!"

Tsukasa, to Ryuji: "Are... you baka or what!? You're not even completely healed yet so sit quietly at home!!"

Ryuji: "...And who are you to be saying such words of wisdom...? Who was the one who was beating the crap out of me?"

Tsukasa, with a blanched face is torturing Ryuji. "And...! If you're going to be travelling at least ride in the car~~~" {It's dangerous---}

Text pointing to Ryuji: She's pulling the hair on the sides of his head and twisting it upwards.

Ryuji, however looks calm, with his hands in his pockets though Tsukasa is dragging him along.

Toshi and Sho are screaming in sympathy.

"Kya---! Ouch---!"

"The hair here hurts~~~"

Tsukasa: "You never know when and where Garyukai will come attack~~~!"

Ryuji: "... ...Isn't that the same for you...... Garyukai's final goal is you. You're in a more dangerous position than I am."

Tsukasa suddenly looks cute: "...Ee!? No way! Why, why!? I'm just a lowly inhabitant in the outskirts of Tokyo!!"

Toshi to Sho: "The outskirts?"

Sho, in reply: "Our apartment may be."

Tsukasa is now shedding large false tears: "I'm not like some yakuza having fights picked on me just for walking down the street. Why, why should I be targeted by Garyukai!? That's, that's... so unexpected---------"

Crying, she takes off.

Toshi and Sho chase after her in surprise.

"A! Tsukasa---!?"

Kamo-san, looking at Tsukasa's retreating figure. "...U~~~m...... She's really trying to deny her roots......"

Ryuji, expressionless as usual: {...Well, you can't help that......} "Let her do as she pleases..."

Kamo-san: "...But... It's too bad... Though we discover that Tsukasa-san is a gokudo celebrity, she's still the same. At this rate, the relationship between you and Tsukasa-san will not change... It hasn't changed at all. Hogou's kage no seisai in our world is a woman close to a goddess... and the late woman's child. Any gokudo who learns Tsukasa-san's identity now, even if they only knew her as a katagi would not object."

Ryuji: "..."

Kamo-san: "Meaning that if you were to tell the kumi of Tsukasa-san's identity you could immediately make Tsukasa-san Kuryugumi's seisai..."

Ryuji glares at him.

Kamo-san turns away, twin rivers of tears coursing from his eyes. {...I understand... I won't say it. I won't say a thing. You don't want to hurt Tsukasa-san right? So I'm just an old lowly man wishing only for Sandaime's happiness.}

Text under Kamo-san: I haven't been glared at in a while......

Bun-san looks at Kamo-san in surprise. "Kamojima-san, what are you muttering? We'll leave you behind."

Later at school.

Tsukasa, theatrically: "------...School... That's a place where you stare at a computer all day and battle tired eyes and yawns while diligently learning...!! But... to me, that is lovely...!!" {A dull and boring day is the sign of the normal everyday person......} Tears are coursing down her cheeks.

Toshi, with dots for eyes: "...Tsukasa's crying in happiness again."

Sho, with dots for eyes: "Lately she's been crying over everything."

Tsukasa is wearing a banner reading: I am the representative of a normal everyday Japanese person.

Tsukasa: "...Come brothers, let's enjoy a boring life!" She runs off towards the school entrance.

Male voice: "Hey hey hey~~~ What's wrong? Your voices are small~~~~~~!!"

Tsukasa: "N?"

Voice: "Greetings are to be made with a louder voice!" {Can't you hear me!?}

Tsukasa and Sho: "!! ...W..."

Tsukasa, in shock: "W... What's this...!?"

Toshi, also in shock: "No way... Th... This is like......!"

Toshi and/or Tsukasa: "A jersey, like a name tag, and a shinai to wave around appealing his wickedness to the surrounding people!!" [shinai = bamboo sword]

A male student cautiously walks by the teacher. "Good mo---rning."

A male teacher, dressed in a jersey and wielding a shinai smacks the wall in emphasis. "Not 'Good mo--rning'! Is that a greeting directed towards a teacher----!? A---!? Show some respect---!!"

Tsukasa and Toshi are freaking out. "I DON'T BELIEVE IT------!! It's like the very picture of a violent teacher that you used to see in a third class school drama aired at least 40 years ago right here in front of our eyes------!!" [Drama, meaning any fictional TV show. That's what they call them in Japan.]

Toshi: "Oh my god! The TV station. Call a TV station------! This isn't something you see in nature---!"

Ryuji on the other hand is standing calmly, with his hands in his pockets.

The teacher has dark hair, with thick rimmed glasses. He seems to have a permanent scowl on his face.

Ryuji: "...... ...Why do they know about some 40 year old third class school drama...?"

In the background, the teacher continues to rant and rave.

Teacher: "Any disobedient students should be taken to the gym and punished with a judo move!"

Sho, with a handkerchief to his eyes: "...That was when we still had a TV at home." {We got a lot of channels so we were watching reruns...}

Toshi: "...But really this is wild... That such a thing could spring up just while we miss school for a bit...!" {What do you think Tsukasa-san?}

Tsukasa, in deep thought: {U~~~m what a speedy day and age.} "Is this a new teacher?"

Voice: "It's the biology teacher Kawamata." [Kawamata is a last name]

Tsukasa: "N? A! It's Asaba-kun!"

Tsubaki waves hello.

Tsukasa: "...Biology's Kawamata?"

Tsubaki: "Yeah."

Toshi: "Wasn't biology's Kawamata more like..."

Toshi: "Gentle, and weak, always smiling. Nobody's ever seen him get mad and he was a bit of a klutz and all the students at the school kinda think of him as a fool......"

Tsubaki: "...That's right... the same Kawamata......"

Toshi and Tsukasa turn to look at Kawamata again.

Kawamata: "You guys! Don't take me as a fool!"

Tsukasa: "...Well, isn't this........."

Toshi: "A sudden and violent image change..."

Students are greeting Kawamata as they enter the school gates. His eyes suddenly flash.

Kawamata: "You!!" He whips out his shinai, stopping it just before Ryuji's throat.

Ryuji is walking along with his hands in his pockets. Toshi and Tsukasa are already past the teacher and are freaking out in surprise.

Kawamata: "...I won't let anyone who doesn't greet me to pass."

Ryuji gives him a hard look.

Tsukasa: "AA...! That baka!! That's why I said to have a face like this, even if it was a lie.......!!" Tsukasa has large twinkly eyes and a serious looking face that shows her admiration/respect for a teacher. The words on her face read teacher, I respect you. {Leave your pride aside for just a second. Why don't you understand you moron!?}

Tsubaki: "Kozuki...... I don't want to see such a Shirogami..." {OK, maybe I kind of do.}

Toshi, also showing respect: "Tsukasa! If Sandaime actually looked like this you would probably hate it and cry." On his face is the word respect.

Sho, with large eyes as well: "Sandaime's been like that since he became Sandaime so that's an unreasonable request." He also has a tattoo reading respect.

Students stare and murmur in surprise.

"...That he would point a shinai at Shirogami-san..."

"Kawamata..."

"How reckless......"

Kawamata: {...Humph...} "Shirogami... Don't think that anyone would freak at the mention of the word yakuza..."

Ryuji simply walks past, his hands still in his pockets. {...I'm not trying to threaten you or anything.}

Kawamata: "A ...You...!" {Ignoring me like that.} "Don't make a fool of me------!!"

The teacher charges at Ryuji.

Inside one of the classrooms.

In the all girl classroom, Asago has a window seat and is staring outside.

Voice: "...Asa-yan."

Asago turns.

It's Sumire.

Sumire: "Morning---"

Asago: "...... ...Morning." She breaks out in a smile.

Sumire freezes for a moment.

Asago: "WHAT!!?" {Let go of me!}

Sumire has Asago in a fierce hug: "Asa-yan... You've rounded out." [In terms of personality.] {How cute~~~} "I've just lately realized how rea~~ly heavy the title of 'Shirogami Ryuji's fiancee' was on you. Lately you look so full of life~~~"

Asago: "...... ...R...... Really?"

Sumire: "At first I thought that he was some guy that could only make you unhappy, but when I heard that you were released from Kuryugumi I had second thoughts." {That's not something that can easily be done once such an important-looking engagement announcement is made.}

Asago: {...It wasn't... just an important-looking engagement announcement......}

Sumire: "The only complaint I have is that it makes it look like it was all your fault. A guy should take responsibilities to the end."

Asago: "That's not true! ...Ryuji... He's endlessly kind."

Sumire, looking like she doesn't quite believe Asago: "...... ...H~~~m." {...Whatever...} "...By the way, I've just heard a wild story about Shirogami Ryuji downstairs."

Asago: "...E...?" [Wow, Asago looks a lot better now without the permanent scowl and look of superiority on her face... She can actually smile now too...]

Tsukasa: "---...Well yeah...... ...I think that for a bodyguard, for me to just have watched and let things happen like that was wrong......" Tsukasa looks serious. "...But...... COULDN'T YOU HAVE AT LEAST AVOIDED IT OR STOPPED IT YOU AHO---------!!!"

Ryuji is lying face down on an infirmary bed, his arms supporting his head which has a large lump on the back.

Text pointing to the lump: Delivered by Kawamata's shinai.

Tsukasa has fangs and a dropped jaw as she yells and takes out an ice mat.

Ryuji: "...Shut up~~~" {Don't yell. It hurts my head.}

Tsukasa: "And, and---------! After which you collapse like that in front of everyone. Just thinking about it makes me embarrassed~~~~~~ ~~~~~~!! WAAAAAAAAA!" She bursts into tears.

Ryuji, with a blanched face: "~~~~ ...I couldn't help it. I didn't think that he would actually strike and" {on top of that,} "his strength was much more than I expected......" {For a second there I thought I saw the other world again.}

Tsukasa pulls Ryuji up by his rabbit ears. [Yes, Ryuji also has paws.] "Do you think you can just dismiss it with 'I couldn't help it' ?" {And you're the kumicho that rules the gokudo of the Kanto area?}

Ryuji: "......"

Tsukasa: "At least show the guts to hit back if you're hit."

Ryuji: "......... ...No. That's kakkowarui......" [kakkowarui = un-cool in case you've forgotten.]

Tsukasa, in shock: "W...!!" {What do you mean kakkowarui!!?} "Isn't a kumicho that's knocked down by a shirouto and takes refuge in the infirmary to treat a lump on the head more embarrassing---!!?"

Ryuji is now sitting up with a serious look on his face but has a large lump sticking out of the back. "...Well yeah~~~... If the opponent was a gokudo or some hoodlum then I'll deal with him/her regardless of sex...... but do you think I can be serious about getting at a katagi type of opponent? A gokudo winning a fight against a katagi isn't something you can brag about. ...Well, to me it's like a lowly hoodlum that likes beating on a weak person...... ...!" He sighs and rests his head on his knee.

Text: Just thinking about it is kakkowarui and embarrassing.

Tsukasa has dots for eyes.

Ryuji: "...... ...To you, it may seem that I'm pitiful but my pride won't allow me to pick a fight with someone who I know I can beat."

Tsukasa starts.

Ryuji: "...To the gokudo, winning against an opponent who you don't know if you can beat has worth/value---..."

Tsukasa: "......"

Ryuji keeps on muttering to himself: "Getting revenge on a katagi who made you fall. What a laugh. You're the bastard that was defeated by a katagi."

Tsukasa breaks out into a smile. Then starts ruffling Ryuji's hair, shaking his head in the process.

Ryuji, with messed up hair: "...... ...What?"

Tsukasa: {E?} "Nothing in particular. ...I just felt like praising you." She breaks out into a smile.

Ryuji stares dumbfounded for a moment.

Tsukasa's hand suddenly darts out. Her right hand is covering Ryuji's mouth while her left is pushing against his forehead.

Tsukasa, shaking trying to keep Ryuji back: "...Wh......? What's this...?"

Ryuji, smiling slyly: "...You... just saw me through different eyes didn't you...?" [OK, OK, this is a crappy translation but I really can't think of anything else. The term is horenaosu which can literally mean to fall in love again OR to have a second/different opinion about someone after some incident... Does this make sense...?]

Tsukasa: "!"

Ryuji: "I bet that just patting me on the head isn't enough. I'll let you do something better...!"

Tsukasa: "Fufufufufu. No way~~~ Ryuji-kun we're friends remember?"

Ryuji: "Don't hold back...! In the past we've kissed twice for a total of more than 10 seconds."

Text: Referring to the time just after the engagement announcement.

Ryuji looks kind of evil. Tsukasa is desperately trying to keep the attacking Ryuji back.

Tsukasa: "...You bastard...! Since your brush with death I thought you had a problem with your memory......!" {Don't be remembering useless things like that.}

Asago has the most weirdest look on her face. Definitely worth scanning.

Tsukasa and Ryuji start as they notice Asago standing over them. Tsukasa has Ryuji by his bunny ears and is trying to keep Ryuji back.

Tsukasa and Ryuji: "...HA......"

Kamo-san and Bun-san are standing outside the infirmary.

Kamo-san: "......Oh......? Just you Tsukasa-san?"

Tsukasa: "Yeah. Seems the 2 of them have something to talk about so I left."

Kamo-san: "...... ...I see......"

Tsukasa: "Tell Ryuji I'll be going ahead to class."

She takes off.

Kamo-san starts muttering to himself: "...Sandaime and Asago-san's engagement is completely cancelled now so she doesn't have to hold back like before. If Tsukasa-san's identity is revealed the kumi then everyone would try to push them together without regard for their personal feelings..." {That's right! If I were to just expose Tsukasa-san's identity...!! I don't even have to do it formally. If I were to just start a rumour among the lower ranks...} He smiles slyly.

Bun-san, who's standing next to the older bodyguard looks worried. {...Sometimes I..... wonder if this guy's personality is slightly warped and evil.........}

Tsukasa is walking down the hallways.

Tsukasa: "..."

She recalls Asago's earlier words.

"...Could... you step out for a moment?"

Tsukasa: {...That's...... like can you leave since you're not involved... ...She's treating me the same even though I know now about the woman who gave birth to me. The kumiin at Kuryugumi haven't treated me any differently either...... Ryuji---... hasn't told anyone------... ------The same as before------... Nothing has changed. Absolutely everything is the same as before------...}

She stops in the hall in thought.

Tsukasa breaks out into a smile. {...How happy~~~~~~}

She suddenly transforms into an angel [!!?] with wings included. "...H~~~m... It kinda seems like the idea of some syndicate called Garyukai or the other, the existence of some unknown drug," {and also all that stuff about my biological mother,} "is starting to seem more like a dream than reality~~~ Becau~~se right now around here there's no proof of any of that having happened." {If it did occur then come prove it to me right now~~~} She has a goody look on her face.

Tsukasa laughs like a drunk person. She transforms into a prince or something and prances down the hallway past the biology prep room. She has a tiny crown and a cape too.

Tsukasa: {From today on, I'm going back to a peaceful life ------!!" {And then 10 years from now I'm going to say 'Return my youth~~~'} As usual, Tsukasa isn't making any sense.

In the biology prep room.

A voice laughs. "...Amazing... This is amazing... ...It seems like power wells up from my soul... ...This is my strength... This is my real strength... ...Nobody will ever make fun of me again... Nobody will ever go against me......"

A small compact can be seen on a desk.

Voice: "Even that Shirogami Ryuji---......"

Kawamata opens a small box and takes out a small jar filled with liquid. It's the stuff that Garyukai had created.

Kawamata: "...I can forever be a winner... ...As long as ...I have this......" He fills up a syringe. "---...Goddess Freya, ...please grant me the power of the Gods------..." With that he injects the drug into his forearm. [Okay, I looked this name up in the dictionary and the closest name I found is Freya: goddess of love and fecundity in Norse mythology... I just hope this is the right one. Thanx for the hint Venkarel!]

Anyways, the image in the compact is a woman with long hair and many bangles with her eyes closed and her hands held together in prayer.

Outside is a figure crouched and leaning on the door.
