Tsukasa's mother, Ikumi: "---...Understand? Tsukasa------ This protector is very important so no matter what happens from now on, don't let go of it carelessly---"

Ikumi is sitting in front of the young Tsukasa. Tsukasa's father Yutaka is sitting beside his wife. All three of them are sitting seiza on the floor. Tsukasa, wearing a T-shirt over a long sleeved shirt and shorts looks innocent. She has a bandage on her right knee.

Young Tsukasa: "...Why? Why is it important?"

Text beside Tsukasa: What's a protector? Is it related to a helicopter? [I don't know if I mentioned this before but in Kure Para, they've been using the word protector, i.e. in poorly pronounced English. Phonetically, it comes out like 'purotekutaa'. Tsukasa doesn't know this word and thinks it sounds vaguely like helicopter, or 'hericoputaa']

Her parents start.

Text: ...Why she asks...

Yutaka, making a hasty explanation: "...Th... That's to hide the fact that you're a girl from the rest of the world." {It hides your breasts!}

Ikumi nods vigorously.

Tsukasa: "...H~~~m ...I see! 'Cause when I grow up and if the injyuu out there learn that I'm a girl then I'll be raped right!?" {Wow dad, you're so cool making me something cool like this. You're so smart------!} [I'm not sure of the word injyuu but in refers to loose/obscene, while jyuu refers to beast/animal/savage]

Ikumi: "Th...! That's right Tsukasa!! So from now on you're going to live as a boy."

Yutaka is helping Tsukasa to put her protector on (over a sleeveless shirt).

Tsukasa: "Dad~~~ This thing is bit~~~ This protector thing~~~"

Yutaka: "Aa. With this password you can adjust it. See, when you open this panel here......"

Ikumi: "No matter what sad things happen---..."

Tsukasa, flashing a peace sign: "Yeah! It's a promise between the 3 of us!!" {Don't worry, I'll keep my promise. Being a girl is boring!}

Tsukasa, from her position at the top of the stairs: {The 'kagi'------!! Fell into the hands of Garyukai------!!} Her hair is still sticking out all over the place. "Gi...! Give that back you thief------!!" {It's not mine but it came out of my clothing---!!}

Misumi beckons with his index finger to come forward.

Tsukasa snaps and her face goes red with rage: "!! Damn you Gonzaemon!!" She starts to charge down the stairs but is stopped by a voice.

Ryuji: "Kamojima!!"

Tsukasa stops her dash and whirls her head around. "!!"

Blood drips to the ground.

Kamo-san, who took a wound to the stomach in place of Ryuji: "...!" One of the guys had stabbed the older man.

Tsukasa: "Kamo-san...!"

Kamo-san, turning to Ryuji: "...Sandaime...! Please go on...!"

Ryuji, looking worried: "...!"

Kamo-san: "Tsukasa-san ... with Sandaime......"

Tsukasa: "!"

Kamo-san: "To the Haree Chapel...! ...Please assist......!!" {Please...!!} He slides to the ground.

Tsukasa: {...A...!} She turns back to look at Misumi. "...!" {...D...! Dammit---!!} Her chain flies out. "Ryu---ji--!!"

Ryuji is suddenly whisked out from the scene by Tsukasa's chain which caught him [around the waist I think].

Tsukasa with fangs and eyes with no pupils: "Ta~~~ke ou~~~~t!!" [In poor English of course] There are 4 girls in Tsukasa's speech bubble dressed up as fast food joint employees.

"Welcome."

"Welcome."

"Will you be eating in?"

"Will you be taking that home?"

Azuma: "Tsukasa-san!!?" {If you're going to say something like that don't you mean 'take away'?}

Text pointing to Ryuji: Shirogami Ryuji literally being taken out (taken home).

[Okay, okay, here's the explanation. To make a "take out" order in Japanese is "omochikaeri" which when literally translated means to "take home". Tsukasa is literally taking him away, which explains her choice of words.]

Misumi snickers: {She chose Shirogami Ryuji's safety over the 'kagi' that can move the world---...} His fingers curl around the jewel [which is by the way fairly large... I wonder what it's made out of...] {...Well------... She'll probably chase after me to get it back---...} He turns to Shiki who's leaning on the railing of the stairs. "...Shiki...!"

Shiki starts.

Azuma is by Kamo-san's side. He startles at the mention of the name. {...E...?}

Misumi: "...The rest is up to you..." He turns and leaves.

Azuma: {...'Shiki'...?}

Shiki: "...What~~~~~~~~? I'm always left with stuff like thi~~s." {Do I have to finish everything for you!? Am I your wife or something!? I'm getting sick of this way of life~} Misumi must already be out of earshot for him to be saying such things.

Azuma: {---...'Shiki'...!?}

A little distance away.

Tsukasa and Ryuji race towards a large building with a cross over the main entrance. As they enter a large chapel, a set of stairs lowers down to greet them.

Tsukasa: "!! Stairs!!"

Ryuji: "Climb up!!"

Tsukasa: "Okay!!"

Behind them a horde of guys are closing in.

Bun-san, at the top of the stairs: "Sandaime!!"

Tsukasa: "!! Bun-san!"

Ryuji: "Shibuya! The safety door for diving!!" [!!? Does the chapel go underwater!!?] The wound on his left forearm looks pretty bad. He's slashed almost from elbow to wrist.

Bun-san: "Hai!!"

The door at the top of the stairs starts lowering.

Tsukasa: "Ryuji!" She glances behind her. {!! Ryuji!!}

Ryuji: "...!" The guys had caught up with him.

Tsukasa extends her hand to Ryuji as the door gradually lowers. {Hurry!! It'll close!!}

Ryuji reaches up and catches Tsukasa's hand.

Tsukasa yanks hard and they go rolling backwards, just as the door closes. On the other side of the door, the guys are madly banging and stabbing at the door. Downstairs, the main door is sealed shut.

Tsukasa: "...Ryu...... ...Ryuji..... ...What's wrong?"

Ryuji had fallen on top of Tsukasa and had his head buried in her chest unmoving. "......"

Tsukasa: "Are you all right...?" {Don't tell you got stabbed again...}

Ryuji presses his face harder into Tsukasa's breasts. {...Nama chichi......} [nama = live/in the flesh/real; chichi = breasts]

Text written over Ryuji: That feels good...

Tsukasa turns bright red.

Some moments later.

A bird whistles as it flies by.

Kamo-san: "...I see... You were able to trap them in the Haree Chapel..."

Bun-san: "That's right... Even with the effects of the drug, they shouldn't be able to break through the water tight door." {We'll have them trapped for a little while.}

Text: Only the first floor becomes submerged.

[Okay, I don't quite understand the architecture of this Haree Chapel. Seems that the whole building actually sinks into the ocean... Maybe it's like a huge boat or something where the 1st floor adjusts the height of the building in water...? Either way, it only seems that the chapel becomes partially submerged...]

Kamo-san: "...That's true......" He's sitting propped up against some kind of railing. "...And so how is Sandaime...?"

Bun-san, who's bandaging up Kamo-san: "...Well..." {Um} "...He's in no condition to be able to walk by himself......"

Text pointing to Bun-san: He brought the first aid kit from the car.

There's the sound of Tsukasa's chain clinking, plus the sound of something being dragged around.

Ryuji is seen with a completely bruised face. He has lumps on lumps on lumps on his head [you have to see the picture to understand]. A chain is seen wrapped around his waist. His head rocks back and forth with each step Tsukasa takes.

Ryuji: "......"

Kamo-san, when he finally sees Ryuji: "...Wh...!?" He runs to the end of Tsukasa's chain. "SANDAIME~~~!! How awful!! How did you come to this horrible state!!? To be beaten until your face becomes distorted looks like so, they must be heartless~~~" {More like ogres! The devil! (The god of) Death himself~~~!}

Tsukasa is bent over, looking embarrassed as she drags Ryuji along. She feels the stab of the words.

Bun-san: "...So you seem..."

Text pointing to Tsukasa: The ogre, the devil and Death.

Tsukasa glances over. "...N...? ...It's Scorpion and mister Azuma...... What are they talking about...?" {Looks serious...}

Bun-san: "...I have no idea~~~..."

Azuma: "...Please! Please listen to......"

Shiki: "...What? Are you going to compensate for what happened in the past? Are you going to say 'I'm sorry for not being able to protect you' and then prostrate and cut of a finger or something? If you entertain me with some kind of performance like that then I may consider it for awhile." His arms are crossed as he's speaking with Azuma.

Azuma, looking sad: "...Of course... Anything as you wish---..."

Back at Rokuo.

Asago peeks around the corner. "......" She spies 2 cops with the GRAVE uniform. {...It ...seems like him... That back...... The more I look at it, the more it seems like him. There's the aura of rokudenashi emanating from that back.} [rokudenashi = good for nothing]

Munakata and another blond haired cop (probably Akira) are walking down the hall with their backs to Asago.

Asago: {Come o~~n... Turn that unfriendly face of your over here!! Not that I want to see it but I'll look at it long enough to take a glance!} Her speech is accentuated with a popped vein. A~ They turned!!}

She dashes after them, turning the corner. But nobody is seen in the hallway.

Asago: "...Huh...?" {They're not here... That's strange. A!} She spies the other corridor. {They probably turned that corner...}

As she dashes forward, she meets with a scarred male face really up close.

She and Munakata are almost nose to nose.

Munakata: "Something the matter jyo-chan?" [jyo-chan is the same as ojyosan or "missy"]

Asago does a very un-Asago like thing...

"KYAAAAAAAAAAA!" She shuffles back in a hurry.

Munakata, who had leaned over at Asago's height recognized her. "...Hey..." {You...}

The other cop was Akira. He's leaning against the wall with his hands in his pockets.

Akira: "A. It's the daughter of the Silver Dragon Clan of Kuryugumi. The one that's supposed to be a candidate for Shirogami Ryuji's bride."

Asago: {A...!!}

Munakata glances back at Akira, then turns back to Asago, who startles.

Munakata: "...H~~~m... ...I get it now......" {...That explains her familiarity with using guns...}

Asago: "...!"She's blushing a bit.

Munakata: "---...And? What does the daughter of the gokudo want with us cops?" {Following us like that.}

Asago, looking stunned for a moment: "...E..." {...R... Reason?} "No reason." {I just,} "It looked like there was a sukebe walking around so I just wanted to check to see if it was you!!"

Munakata: "...You... You're still say things so bluntly." He turns to Akira. "Am I that sexy Kise?" {I've been told by other girls that I'm a sex symbol, so I I've begun to wonder.}

Asago, with fangs: "Take that statement literally!!" {Literally---! I'm not complimenting you, I'm dissing you---! Why do you interpret sukebe as being sexy!!?}

Akira, with a sweat drop on the back of his head: {...Now that's positive thinking... as usual.}

Text: Munakata's way of thinking. You sukebe --> You ecchi --> You sexy thing. [ecchi = "H", pervert etc.]

Munakata glances back at Asago: "... ...So you..."

Asago: "... ...What?"

Munakata pointing at her: "You're after my body aren't you?"

Asago comes at him with a harisen.

Akira: "...A."

[harisen = fan that's folded accordion style. If you guys know "Fushigi Yuugi" it Tasuki's weapon. In modern days, it's usually a fan made of large piece of white paper, used in stand up comedy... I guess it's an equivalence of the Western idea of throwing cream pies...]

Moments later, the 3 of them are in conversation.

Asago: "...H~~~m. So you're patrolling since there were some of our students among those who attacked Kuryugumi."

Munakata: "Seems that the drug users have completely different personalities from before drug use, so with the help of the teachers we're rounding them up. If they test positive for the drug then they're given a shot with the counter-drug."

Akira, looking suspicious: "...Hey, Munakata-san... ...Is it all right to be..." {Talking so freely like that.}

Munakata, looking back at Akira: "What. Am I not allowed? You're telling the inside stories to some kid that's in with the yakuza." {How does that make me different from you?}

Akira does the scream and the sea urchin thing: {He's right! And such a sharp comment~~~!! How did he know!?}

Asago: {...That would be Baka-zuki...} She thinks back. "......"

Just moments earlier, Munakata had explained the situation.

---"We've heard about it (the counter drug) from the upper (meaning higher ranked people) just yesterday. To be quite frank, we don't have enough to be able to fight back. We need a new source of the counter drug."

---"It seems that if we go to some certain place we can get are hands on it."

---"To go there, it seems that we need some 'kagi'---"

Asago: "......" {---...Ryuji... I wonder if he knows about this------...}

Back at Kuryugumi, in the VIP hospital.

There's the sound of something squeaking. Tsukasa's sliced open protector is on a desk.

Tsukasa herself is twirling herself round and round on a swivel chair. [I wonder if she has a spare protector...] She's thinking about her past.

Ikumi: "---...Understand...? Tsukasa... This protector is very important......"

Tsukasa: "......" {Yes... That's right...... It was very important. ...That's why mother} "Kept saying not to let go of it no matter what happens---..." {Not knowing that, I kept taking it off...... I thought it was just to hold back my breasts.} She scratches her head. An image of Misumi with the key pops into her mind. "......" {---I wonder if Gonzaemon knows about the natural habitat of the drug---... ...If so then... he'll head straight for India...!!} She gets up all of the sudden. "...I...! Just then a small dragon flies in front of Tsukasa.

Text pointing to the dragon: The medical centre's pet Kuuron. ["Kuu" = nine, "ron" = another way (Chinese way?) of pronouncing the kanji dragon.]

The dragon is a Chinese/Japanese one. Unlike the Western idea of a dragon, it's more snake like, has horns and long whiskers. Chinese/Japanese dragons also have hair down their backs. They usually have 4 appendages, but can't walk on them 'cause they're really short. Kuuron only seems to have 2 forearms. It's wearing a nurse's cap with a red cross on it and it's carrying a globe in it's right forearm. It's about twice the length of Tsukasa's shoulder breadth.

Kuuron rubs up against Tsukasa's face and the hair on it's back tickles her nose. She lets out a loud sneeze. A very un-lady like one...

Tsukasa says something to herself, slapping her thigh [but... I don't get it...]

Someone steps into the room and stands behind Tsukasa. It's Meiko.

Meiko: "...Tsukasa-kun......" She has a dark shadow over her face. {...You...}

Tsukasa, looking naïve: "N?"

Meiko, with tears streaming down her face: "Why are you so un-lady like~~~~~~~~~" She has Tsukasa's hands in her own.

Tsukasa, with a sweat mark on her face: "...Why not......" {It's not something to be crying about Meiko-sensei.

Text: What a disgusting sneeze from the mouth of girl of age~~~

Tsukasa, twirling herself on a chair again: "That's what make me me~~~"

Meiko is seated in another chair across from Tsukasa: "Well that's true but, are you going to remain that way forever?" {I've been wondering it for awhile.}

Tsukasa, still twirling: "Why~~~?"

Meiko: "Aren't there times when you want to go back to being a girl?"

Tsukasa stops twirling.

Meiko: "See ©? See~ see~~ see~~? If you go back to being a girl then you can be friendly with Sandaime in front of everyone © If you're a girl then you can hold hands with him and not be looked at strangely."

Tsukasa: "..." She doesn't look too happy.

Meiko: "You could even kiss him or go into a love hotel with him and not be looked at strangely ©" [And Tsukasa is what, 14!?] "Since Sandaime is someone that stands above people (kumiins), it's not like the others (clans) will acknowledge it if he were to have a relationship with a guy. He'll be a laughing stock!"

Tsukasa starts, then stuffs her hands in her pockets and begins to walk away.

Meiko: "...Tsukasa-kun...?"

Tsukasa: "...Don't worry. I won't make Ryuji a laughing stock."

Meiko, excitedly: "Then!!"

Tsukasa: "But I have no intention of going back to being a girl."

Meiko: "EE!?"

Tsukasa: "My mother and father raised me as a boy."

Ikumi, looking stern: "Tsukasa!! If you're hit, then return with a hit and a kick!! Half kill them so they wouldn't even think of attacking you again!!"

Little Tsukasa, in poor English: "Yes sir--!!" [To her mother?]

Some other time, Yutaka is seen training Tsukasa.

Yutaka: "That's good Tsukasa! Really good but wait a second. Daddy's tired~~~"

Little Tsukasa: "No! Not yet~~~~~!"

Yutaka is wearing gloves and is training Tsukasa. She's kicking away. [Now we know who trained her...]

Back in the present.

Tsukasa: "That's why I feel that to remain male is being kind to my parents......" She suddenly transforms into a guy with a thick moustache, thick eyebrows and a guy-style haircut.

Meiko: "...I don't understand... ...Isn't it all right that you live how you want to live now that your parents are deceased~~~?"

Tsukasa: "No no no. That goes against a guy's aesthetics!!" [That's what she said... Maybe my dictionary is wrong... Maybe 'philosophy' would have been a better translation...]

Tsukasa waves her finger at Meiko: {...Actually, I don't want people of this (gokudo) world to know that I'm a girl. 'Cause --- I don't know where someone will start a rumour about Hogou's kage no seisai, or 'Wakasa's daughter'------}

Suddenly there is the sound of running feet.

"Sandaime------!! Is it true that Hogou's kage no seisai had a daughter---!!!?"

Tsukasa flips: "!!!"

Meiko: "EE!?" {No way!!}

Text: The rumour of Wakasa's daughter is already out. The clan heads thunder into the office. Naturally, Kyuragi is in the lead, followed closely by Usui, Kawazoe and Mooka. Others follow behind them.

Text pointing to the clan heads: The clans' oyajis. [In case you haven't seen it for awhile, oyaji = man/mister; (one's own) father]

Tsukasa is in panic: {...A. A! A! A! A!} She's trying to pick herself up from the floor.

Kyuragi, leaning on the desk: "I heard it from the guy and the man with the scar on his forehead!!" [Well it's not really his forehead. It's just between his eyes.]

Text: You can also call it eavesdropping.

Kyuragi: "And that Hogou's kage no seisai, 'Ayabe Wakasa's' daughter!! Apparently she has something to counter that drug that Garyukai is distributing!!"

Meiko, on the other side of the desk is in shock: "Oh my---!!"

The clan oyajis start talking amongst themselves: "No matter what, we have to find that daughter!!"

"That's right! It seemed that those 2 knew about that daughter. We have to make those 2 talk---!!"

Tsukasa is doing the scream thing plus the sea urchin thing: {IYAAAAAAAAA!! Stop it!!}

Asago seems to appear out of nowhere: "...No way...... Hogou's kage no seisai... had a daughter...?"

Silence overcomes the room.

Tsukasa: "!!" {Asago---!!} "...Asago...?" {Huh...? ...Wasn't she...}

Asago's still in her sailor uniform.

Kyuragi breaks the silence: "Why are you in such a place like this Asago-ojyosan? I thought that you were barred from entering Kuryugumi."

Asago: "!! ...A... ...I... ...I called earlier... and heard that Ryuji was wounded... and before I realized it......" She looks nervous.

Kyuragi (probably): "...Before you realized it you were here? Well isn't that an interesting reason."

From her position on the floor, Tsukasa is listening intently. {...O... It seems that the conversation is going in a different direction...... Good good.}

Kyuragi: "You're an ojyosan who can easily say that as a reason. That time when Sandaime was on the verge of dying, you forgot your own position and before you knew it you had disappeared right?" He laughs.

Asago looks down in shame.

Kyuragi: "And now here you are disobeying Sandaime's order (being forbidden to enter Kuryugumi)."

Asago, starting: "...! I...! I'm just worried about Ryuji and," Kyuragi, interrupting her: "We don't need a disrespectful girl like you to worry about Sandaime!! Leave here immediately,"

Tsukasa, pissed off: "Shut up you kuso oyaji." She drops her heel on Kyuragi. The other clan heads freak.

Text: Heel drop.

Asago looks stunned.

"Kumicho are you all right!?" Kyuragi: "...A...! That kuso gaki again......!"

Tsukasa towers over the fallen Kyuragi with her hand on her hip: "...Grown men surrounding and picking on a single girl like that." {Damn you guys piss me off.} "I don't know if the orders are so important to you but Asago was Ryuji's fiancee."

Kyuragi: "...!"

Tsukasa: "Wouldn't it be obvious that she's worried over Ryuji being hurt---!!"

Kyuragi, with numerous popped veins: "Shut up you katagi gaki---!! This isn't a talk where you have a say in it!! We're talking of something important!! Get out of here!!"

Tsukasa: "...Something important...? Don't you have something more important than picking on Asago?"

Kyuragi starts: "That's right!! This isn't a time to be talking about this!! The kage no seisai's daughter!!"

A dark shadow passes over Tsukasa's face. {---...D.. Dammit!! I changed the conversation back to that---!!}

The clan heads start filing out of the medical room. "That young one and the man with a scar on his forehead. Bring those 2 here!!"

Tsukasa, here eyes looking like spirals: {KYAAAAAAAAA!!}
