Some of the interesting and/or fine restaurants in the region.
One of the main reasons, beside the sun and culture, for people to go to France is the French 'Cuisine'. The Tarn/Aveyron, the region where we live in, is famous for truffles, goat's milk cheese and a huge diversity of pâtés. During the last years it was one of our hobbies to search for interesting and affordable restaurants. Here in the region one can eat well for 10 to 15 euros. In our region you will find the authentic 'French Bergerie' , 'Auberge a la ferme' or 'Table Paysane'. Do not ask for a menu but sit down to be served and wait what grandmother has cooked!
Within a distance of 25 kms you will find several fine restaurants.

Longcol. It belongs to the 'Relais & Chateaux' concern. Great ambiance and superb views.
Le Moulin du Varen. Fine cuisine, authentique ambiance.
Ferme Carles. Here you go for a 'Balade Gourmande a la Ferme'.
Lou Cavagnol. Simple and not expensive.

L'Oustal del Barry and Il Capello, in Najac, an interesting medieval city with castle.
La Renaissance, in Caylus, a medieval city.
Soury, In the little village of Bastide l'Eveque, very French.
Jardin des Thermes, a hostellerie in Feneyrols, great ambiance.

- Monteils.
Go for 'Balade Gourmande a la Ferme'. It is a so called 'Table paysanne'. You can, on request, have a conducted tour by the owner and buy 'Confits, Foie Gras, Cous or Saucisse de Canard'.
- Vabre Tizac.
In a little village called Vabre Tizac, there is a family restaurant. No menu 'a la carte' but sit down, wait and see. Just for 16 euros!!
- La fouillade.
Restaurants 'Aux Vieux Chenes' and 'Lou Cavagnol'.
- In LLaguepie.
Restaurant 'Les Deux Rivières'.
- Najaac.
Najac has several fine restaurants. We liked 'L'Oustal del Barry' and 'Il Capello'. The last one, good guess, is the pizzeria.
A few kms, direction, Najac, you will find the restaurant 'Longcol'. Pricey but a fantastic ambiance.
It is also a very nice trip to that restaurant. Give it a try. Direction La Fouillade, see the signs 'Longcol'.
- Vareen.
Restaurant 'Le Moulin du Varen'. An old mill, just 15 kms from our house.
- Cayllus.
Restaurant 'La Renessaince'. Do not forget to make a reservation
You will find of course also various Pizzaria or Chinese restaurants in the area. The pizzeria in Najac is popular to the English residents and in Villefranche de Rouergue the Thai restaurant is, in our opinion of great class. In our house you will find a well documented map with restaurants, villages worth seeing, etc.
