The following interview was conducted by F-14 Tomcat the afternoon of February 7th, 2004, and is being submitted for the war correspondent award.
F-14 Tomcat: Well, I finally got an interview with the legendary ALLSTAR41! Thanks for the interview!
ALLSTAR41: yea, no problem man
F-14 Tomcat: let’s start with a little background
F-14 Tomcat: Where are you from?
ALLSTAR41: I'm from LA, California
F-14 Tomcat: oooh, LA
F-14 Tomcat: You were still a guy last time I checked? Lol
ALLSTAR41: lol yea
F-14 Tomcat: lol you ever been shot at in LA?
ALLSTAR41: nope, I don’t think id want to experience that
F-14 Tomcat: hehe, me neither, LA has a bad reputation
ALLSTAR41: I don’t exactly live in the heart of LA
ALLSTAR41: I live in the LA county
F-14 Tomcat: lol tha h00d

F-14 Tomcat: And how old are you?
ALLSTAR41: 18
F-14 Tomcat: same :-D
ALLSTAR41: sweet
F-14 Tomcat: What are you taking in school? Do you like it?
ALLSTAR41: right now I’m taking GE's but I wanna major in Computer Science
ALLSTAR41: yea its a cool experience
ALLSTAR41: college is way better than High school
F-14 Tomcat: Ah, any connection to bonus?
F-14 Tomcat: i know a lot of people go into comp. sci. after playing BF
ALLSTAR41: nah
F-14 Tomcat: lol
F-14 Tomcat: what’s better about college?
ALLSTAR41: you can pick when you want your classes and at what time
F-14 Tomcat: yeah i like that too
ALLSTAR41: o and the girls.... :-)

F-14 Tomcat: What do you drive, and what would you LIKE to drive? Lol
ALLSTAR41: I drive a blue Ford Taurus, but I'd like to drive a Cadillac CTS convertible (black) lol

F-14 Tomcat: Where do you work and what do you do?
ALLSTAR41: I work at a supermarket making sweet money
ALLSTAR41: I am a bagger/Stocker

F-14 Tomcat: that union pay’s great, lol

ALLSTAR41: yes, if you think 14 bucks an hr is good

F-14 Tomcat: Explain to me your experience in acquiring the #1 spot in rocks and swamp.
ALLSTAR41: umm well it wasn’t easy
F-14 Tomcat: hehe
ALLSTAR41: i was on and off in that map
ALLSTAR41: I started climbing ranks fast around 99-01
F-14 Tomcat: who was the last person you had to pass?
ALLSTAR41: umm Mommy? probably Anten
F-14 Tomcat: hehe
F-14 Tomcat: how many hours do you have in rox?
ALLSTAR41: hmmm, about 912
F-14 Tomcat: WOW
F-14 Tomcat: how did you keep going that long?
ALLSTAR41: i remained focus on one thing: being #1
F-14 Tomcat: lol
ALLSTAR41: not a lot of people can do that
ALLSTAR41: they start a tank and get shining then stop
F-14 Tomcat: seems to be the common thread between you and twiztid
F-14 Tomcat: you both wanted it bad
ALLSTAR41: yea
F-14 Tomcat: What connection do you play on?
ALLSTAR41: DSL
F-14 Tomcat: ooh, have you always had that?
ALLSTAR41: no
F-14 Tomcat: haha, dialup eh?
ALLSTAR41: back in the days i would get disconnected by a phone call
F-14 Tomcat: lol
ALLSTAR41: yea i used to have dial up way back around 97-98
F-14 Tomcat: i have noticed that a lot of people on DSL have WAY better ping than me and am on cable, lol
ALLSTAR41: well it depends on the ISP
F-14 Tomcat: yeah
F-14 Tomcat: SHAW cable is the WORST
F-14 Tomcat: lol
ALLSTAR41: yea
F-14 Tomcat: You have been around a LONG time, when exactly did you start playing BF and how did you find it?
ALLSTAR41: I started playing around mid 97
F-14 Tomcat: right near the start
ALLSTAR41: and that was when we had gotten our first computer...
F-14 Tomcat: hehe
ALLSTAR41: and so i was using a search engine looking for games
ALLSTAR41: and that was when i found bonus.com
F-14 Tomcat: did you play any other bonus.com games?
ALLSTAR41: Bobble!!
F-14 Tomcat: OHHH!!!!
F-14 Tomcat: man i used to be the BOMB at bobble!
F-14 Tomcat: lol
F-14 Tomcat: and that skiing game, rofl
ALLSTAR41: then i tried that grand prix racing, but it didn’t work out lol
F-14 Tomcat: lol
ALLSTAR41: lol yea ski slalom or something like that
F-14 Tomcat: yeah!
F-14 Tomcat: haha that’s funny
ALLSTAR41: but yea battlefield always stuck to me
F-14 Tomcat: yeah
F-14 Tomcat: once you get your first award
F-14 Tomcat: you feel so special
F-14 Tomcat: lol
ALLSTAR41: yea when i got my first awards i was shaking lol
F-14 Tomcat: heh
F-14 Tomcat: What tanks have you played in your BF career thus far? And what teams have you joined?
ALLSTAR41: lol this might be a long list
F-14 Tomcat: lol, take your time
ALLSTAR41: My tanks include ALLSTAR41, REDRUM 15, CoLoMBiA, Superstar13, NeverSTRIKES, -se7en-, WatermeloN JuicE, IQ-IV, Gen Ms Lucy-5, Happy
F-14 Tomcat: oooh, any that really stick out on your mind?
F-14 Tomcat: As the most fun?
ALLSTAR41: I'd say my ALLSTAR41 because it’s been through it all lol
F-14 Tomcat: lol no kidding
F-14 Tomcat: the steadfast
F-14 Tomcat: and speaking of that...
F-14 Tomcat: You have been famed for your steady temperament and team dedication (note shiner on NeverSTRIKES and battered on REDRUM 15), what allows you to keep playing and stay steady?
ALLSTAR41: the promise that the certain team will remain together for a long time, that’s why i reject many team requests, until I’m promised a dedicated team, I will also be dedicated
F-14 Tomcat: i always respected that about you
F-14 Tomcat: no half measures
F-14 Tomcat: no cheap shots
ALLSTAR41: thnx
F-14 Tomcat: What have you seen changed in battlefield from the point where you started playing, up to now? Is it a successful progression or has it become less fun over time?
ALLSTAR41: I wouldn't say less fun, but i think battlefield is going downhill
F-14 Tomcat: in what ways?
ALLSTAR41: with all the cheating and LAG
F-14 Tomcat: yeah that’s been a problem before
ALLSTAR41: but back then it wasn’t as bad
F-14 Tomcat: i have a theory that BF goes through upswings and downswings
F-14 Tomcat: as regards cheating and hacking
F-14 Tomcat: and right now it’s into the middle of a downswing
F-14 Tomcat: lol so i hope it starts picking up again
ALLSTAR41: yea
ALLSTAR41: it better
F-14 Tomcat: lol
F-14 Tomcat: *shakes fist*
ALLSTAR41: lol
F-14 Tomcat: If you were allowed to take control of bonus.com, what would your long term and short term goals be as pertains to battlefield?
ALLSTAR41: constant checks with map servers so then lag will be eliminated, and I wouldn’t let people back in the game who quit low lol
F-14 Tomcat: lol
F-14 Tomcat: let them miss a week or so eh?
F-14 Tomcat: lol
ALLSTAR41: yea they deserve it
F-14 Tomcat: heh
F-14 Tomcat: Do you have any books you would like to recommend? Or favorite movies?
ALLSTAR41: I personally dislike books, but I'd say Lasagna is good grub lol

ALLSTAR41: but Devil In a Blue Dress was ok

ALLSTAR41: ludacris, 50 cent, Outkast, R Kelly

F-14 Tomcat: What are your views on politics and war?
F-14 Tomcat: Big question, lol
ALLSTAR41: I think Bush used the Sept. 11th ordeal as an excuse to get into the middle-east to "finish what his dad started" and to try to control the oil over there
ALLSTAR41: overall I don’t like bush
ALLSTAR41: there’s many things he’s tried to hide
F-14 Tomcat: yeah i like Michael Moore for trying to get everything out in the open
ALLSTAR41: yea
F-14 Tomcat: i think bush is awful and I’m not even American!
F-14 Tomcat: lol
ALLSTAR41: yea you canadian!

F-14 Tomcat: What do you like to do to relax (outside of battlefield)?
ALLSTAR41: chill with friends, party, catch a movie, go to the many theme parks that surround me, and watch tv lol

ALLSTAR41: Spongebob, and Comedy Central's stand up shows

ALLSTAR41: no i wouldn’t, because they should have enough money to do it themselves, take it out of their own payroll

ALLSTAR41: well before that name i had Superstar13, but that got deleted, so then i made ALLSTAR41
ALLSTAR41: I was an allstar in soccer and basketball, so i thought that name would fit me, keep in mind i was 12-13 lol

ALLSTAR41: and 41 i got from Glen Rice from NBA

ALLSTAR41: I don’t think i would say that I’m gonna retire, I'm probably just going to fade away slowly

F-14 Tomcat: they could be 10 times as good
F-14 Tomcat: lol they just don’t want to
