Old legend returned, phoenix rising from the ashes, co-founder of the up and coming Battlefield IQ team, fast, intelligent, and dedicated, SavinRyann has once again assured his pre-eminent status as a Battlefield player.
The following interview was conducted by F-14 Tomcat the afternoon of September 18th, 2003.

SavinRyann: I'm 18... don't ask me why i still play!

SavinRyann: albany, new york

F-14 Tomcat: Why did you choose your name SavinRyann? Is it from the movie?
SavinRyann: haha
SavinRyann: well to make this the millionth answer, lol

SavinRyann: i got it from Saving Private Ryan, (the movie obviously)... and wanted a name that had to do with tanks and the battlefield.. i was a dork back then, and decided that shortened name was perfect
F-14 Tomcat: heh, a dork back then?

F-14 Tomcat: How long have you been playing Battlefield?
SavinRyann: almost since the beginning... before SavinRyann i had a few beginner tanks if you will
SavinRyann: i retired twice tho
SavinRyann: maybe thats why i still play
SavinRyann: lol

F-14 Tomcat: Tell me about your team experiences, starting with your tank 1 4 9 2, then the dashes, and your short stint as a CounciL when you returned from retirement. Then we will get into the extremely successful team you co-founded The Battlefield IQ.

SavinRyann: 1 4 9 2 was a fun tank... Derrick or (sharky) asked me to join a team a few yrs back that had frostbite, Angel of Death, and others but lasted only a week
SavinRyann: lol

SavinRyann: yeah
F-14 Tomcat: what about the dashes?
SavinRyann: well after that me and frostbite had the craving for a successful team, so we started an ownage team team (dashes).. with - , - -
SavinRyann: etc..
SavinRyann: confused the hell outta ppl
F-14 Tomcat: heh, i always liked that theme
SavinRyann: lol
SavinRyann: As for the councils... i came back from retirement about a month ago, and on my old sn for battlefield i had like only a few ppl left that were signed on (cuz the rest either changed names or most retired), nn2 was on there and asked if i wanted to start my main tank as a council
SavinRyann: i had no clue who the team members were but i said yes anyways

SavinRyann: however that didn't last long
F-14 Tomcat: Well, your new glory is due to your co-founding of The Battlefield IQ!
F-14 Tomcat: How and when did you decide to found The Battlefield IQ?
SavinRyann: well when the councils were raiding you (Led Zeppelin)(note, councils got OWNT), i just met you that night and we came up with the idea of an ownage team.. u were drunk tho

SavinRyann: the theme of this team
SavinRyann: was started by frostbite being himself (crazy)... saying "why don't we just be original and start The Garlic Crew"
SavinRyann: and then i said "frost my iq just went down from hearing that comment"
SavinRyann: lol

F-14 Tomcat: Not many team ideas work out like they are intended, why do you think The Battlefield IQ worked out so well?
SavinRyann: b/c the roman numerals weren't really done before... thats my reasoning anyways

F-14 Tomcat: By the way, congratulations on your recent Shiner on IQ-I, i think that is the true mark of a successful team.

F-14 Tomcat: What are you currently taking in school? What do you plan to do with this once you graduate?
SavinRyann: uh, sex ed, pornography with yours truly (King Octopus), etc

SavinRyann: i have military as well as college, so its a wonder i manage time for this

F-14 Tomcat: What effect do you think the discovery of AIM, and ICQ programs have had on the game?
SavinRyann: damn... they transformed bf forever.. icq was teh first of course (sucked soo much), lol.. everyone hated it but it was the only way to talk at the time, it froze my computer 24/7 back then..
F-14 Tomcat: lol
SavinRyann: once icq came out everyone teamed up
SavinRyann: and got to know each other
F-14 Tomcat: yeah, good think? or bad?
SavinRyann: in some ways both... you could either meet new ppl, or learn to hate some others
SavinRyann: lol

F-14 Tomcat: I always get such different answers to this question, its interesting to see how people all view the same thing differently.
SavinRyann: yeah
F-14 Tomcat: And who were some of your favorite tanks to battle on the field? Tanks you really loved to duke it out with?
SavinRyann: hmm
SavinRyann: well ppl these days quit low, speed hack, etc.. so lemme pull a few out names from the past
F-14 Tomcat: thats ok
SavinRyann: flyseggs.. allstar.. killa army. bam bam II.. mommy.. bakerbob.. jimmo.. karina (me and either twisted sister or sharky would team against them, good times, lol)
F-14 Tomcat: What lead to your first and second retirement and what caused your recent return to Battlefield?
SavinRyann: um, your one of the few to actually ask me about my retiring
F-14 Tomcat: Good reporting.
SavinRyann: lol
SavinRyann: well i used to play bf back when i was 12-13 yrs old, lol, and my mom hated the fact all i did was play bf besides school and sports.. so she told me i couldn't play anymore, as funny as it sounds
SavinRyann: lol

SavinRyann: then they let me try it again, but the same addicting out come came of it... cept this time, instead of making it on the top list for rox, i tryed for a new map called desert
SavinRyann: cuz it looked cool and ppl told me it was more active
F-14 Tomcat: yeah
SavinRyann: sharky said rox turned into a ghost town once the new maps came out
F-14 TOMCAT: yeah true enough
SavinRyann: the reason why i came back? prolly b/c i knew this game revolved around fast connections, and i jus got a 2.66 ghz laptop for college and it has t3 connections, lol... how could you not pass that up

F-14 Tomcat: What is the biggest difference you have noticed in battlefield since the day you retired to the day you came back?
SavinRyann: i'd have to say, tournaments… some do and some don't agree that have been around just as long
F-14 Tomcat: ok
F-14 Tomcat: whats different about them?
SavinRyann: well i used to own them 2+ yrs ago, you could still get gold cup if you didn't get equipment.. these days if you don't fill first you have no chance unless you cheat.. also, two million ppl play them now and less played back then

F-14 Tomcat: If you were king of battlefield for a day, and you could do whatever you want, what new award would you give yourself and what would it look like?
SavinRyann: probably the cloaking device (it'd look like a clear shield), i could be in the middle of a battle or raid and nobody would know i was there.. lol

SavinRyann: basically IQ-I.. i plan to play that 'till rusty and top 3 in desert, and probably to put SavinRyann on rox top list for the last time and leave it there, if bonus doesn't screw me over again and deleted my tanks>:o

SavinRyann: i've learned lunar tide lives like 10 min away in Albany (note: i didn’t know Albania was 10 minutes away, lol) … and he even did track, lol (im a runner).. and i go to school with King Octopus
SavinRyann: King Octopus said he doesn't want to meet 'till he passes first semester b/c he has PMS for guys at that time... lol

SavinRyann: uh, nothing really.. i have two sn's for a reason, one for bf, and the other for friends at University of Buffalo and back home.. (i try not to confuse bf with my life)
