I don't really
remember my real Dad when I was a little kid me and Mom had to move away cause he was
really mean to us. We moved in with my Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop.
When I
was 2 my Dad was really my Pop-Pop. Everyday when me and Mom left for work she would say
"Bye Dad!!" One day I just said, "Bye Dad!!" too!! I really loved my
Pop-Pop Dad. Everytime he went to the bank he got me lolly pops and at night he'd play
with me and I'd sing him the songs I learned in day care. Some times my Pop-Pop would
laugh at me because I used to try on shoes that were in magazines. How was I supposed to
know you couldn't :o) The thing I remember most about my Pop-Pop Dad was his crumbs. What
I couldn't understand is why in the morning when I touched his face he didn't have any
crumbs but at night time he did. Heeheehee... You want to know what his crumbs turned out
to be? His whiskers!! I miss my Pop-Pop very much. He's in heaven now watching the angels
trying on imaginary shoes.
My next
Dad wasn't a Dad at all. She was my Mom!! Mom had to be both a Mommy AND a Daddy for the
longest time. Years in fact. We did everything together and when it was Father Daughter
Day at school it was my Mom who was my Dad and my Mom was always there for me!! She wasn't
to good at fixing things thankfully my Pop-Pop Dad was still alive then and he'd come over
to our house with his trusty tool box and fix all the broken things for me. Then one day
my Pop-Pop Dad went to heaven and my Mom had to fix things on her own. Mom was a good Dad
as good as she could be and I'll never forget how she was both Mom and Dad to me.

What is a Father?
A Father is a helping hand to lift you when you fall.
A Father is a caring heart that hears you when you call.
A Father is a loving arm that comforts all your tears
A Father is a Shining Knight that takes away your fears
A Father loves you staunchly no matter what you've done
A Father has a ready laugh he knows how to have some fun
A Father stands beside you through good times and through bad
He daily earns the title when he's lovingly called Dad.
That's what my MOM is to me.

Life Doesn't Come With An Instruction
Book
That's Why We Have A Chuck.
Most
kids have a Dad ~ Me ~ I have a Chuck!!

 |
Next came Chuck!! I like
Chuck but I don't like Chuck. I like him because he takes me places and gives me money all
the time but unlike Mom he don't take my nonsense. Most times he makes me go to bed on
time, helps me with my Science and Math homework and fixes stuff Mom can't. He thinks
differently than me. He likes cars and motors and yucky boys stuff. To him it's a big
thing to have all the stuff on in my room if I'm not in there. But the thing I just can't
quite understand is how he can take a perfectly good running car and break it. We have a
driveway full of cars but only one works. Maybe it's cause he likes Fords. I don't know...
My Mom used to have a Chevy and it ALWAYS worked!! That is until she met him and he made
her sell it. You'd think he'd get the hint being as all the cars we now have are Fords and
none but one works. His famous line is he's waiting for parts. Here ya go Chuck!! Here's a
car that don't need any. Course we're still not going anywhere!! It's a Ford it don't work
either!! :o) And Thanks Chuck for being My Dad!!

DAD
If I went shopping for a dad, here is what I'd buy:
One who would always stop to answer a little girl's "why?"
One who would always speak kindly to a little girl or boy,
One who would give to others a bit of sunshine and joy.
I'd pick a dad that followed the Bible's Golden Rule,
And one who went regularly to Church and Sunday school.
I'd buy the very finest dad to place on our family tree,
And then I'd try to live like him so he would be proud of me. |

The History of Father's Day
Father's Day is a day on which the people of many countries express
gratitude and appreciation for their fathers by giving them gifts or
greeting cards. In the United States and Canada, Father's Day falls
on the third Sunday in June.
Sonora Louise Smart Dodd of Spokane, Wash., got the idea to set aside
a special day to honor fathers in 1909, after listening to a sermon on
Mother's Day. She wanted to honor her father, William Jackson Smart.
Smart's wife died in 1898, and he raised their six children on his own.
Dodd drew up a petition recommending adoption of a national father's day.
The Spokane Ministerial Association and the local Young Men's Christian
Association (YMCA) supported it. Through Sonora Dodd's efforts, Spokane
celebrated the first Father's Day on June 19, 1910. Over the years, many
resolutions to make the day an official national holiday were introduced.
Finally, in 1972, President Richard M. Nixon signed Father's Day into law.
